Just booked the Bridgetown to Lisbon cruise! A little concerned about the sea days, but I still think this will be a great cruise!

My fiance and I just booked this cruise to get away from the cold Chicago winter for a few days! Anyone else on the boat?

They are pretty much standard on Carnival cruisings. You usually have to look for the in the capers. Sometimes they move the time around so you have to watch that. I reccomend at least going to a few of them on the first few nights even if not a lot of people show up. I have several great stories about them...
1) We got to know Nikki on the Carnival Glory and she was AMAZING as a bartender. In fact we have known her so long she is now married and back home in her country. She was amazing!
2) My last major cruise last year was Costa Rica and Panama - on it, I met about 12 guys that were all coupled. They were amazing and live just a few hours from me. One couple sing in the gay men's chorus in their area and we had a lot to talk about. We liked them so much we did excursions with them and gathered each night to hold court at the FOD meetings and talk to each other. It was TRULY so much fun!

My partner and I have never once had a problem on Carnival, nor have any of our friends that have cruised with us. On our last cruise, he was pulled up on stage during the Welcome Aboard show and in the introduction he proudly announced that we were together and such, to many applause and cheers. Some girls screamed his name (later found out it was the 3 at our dinner table). We saw a TON of people all week around the ship all saying hello and talking to us becuase they saw him on the video. We truly haven't had a problem. Our cabin stewards have never been a problem, wait staff, CD's, nothing.....it has always been a hugely pleasurable experience!

I have about a day and a half upcoming in Anchorage after a cruise on Celebrity. Any recommendations on hotels/places to stay in Anchorage? (or ones to absolutely stay away from?)
