Then you are most likely looking at suites on all of the aforementioned lines.

BTW Oceana is in somewhat of a different class of cruise lines from Celebrity and Princess as it is a premium line.  You would be more comparable to Silversea, Regent, Viking Ocean, etc., in considering Oceana v Celebrity and Princess.

I agree. The suites on O are +/- $7k pp. I’m afraid he’s going to have to bite the bullet. Thanks for your help.

  2. Is there a place where I can find the various square footages of all the cabins? My husband hates tiny cabins and needs to know before he goes. We’re looking at

    Oceania

    Celebrity

    Princess

    Thank you!

  3. We haven’t sailed Princess in ten years. Going on a Los Angeles departure cruise. As we live on the west coast and won’t be flying, I’m considering taking some wine. What are the rules/restrictions on that? Thanks, y’all are the best.

  4. Just curious about something. I had long assumed the cruise lines were headquartered in Miami, in big beautiful offices, so I was mildly surprised to see that HAL is Seattle-based. So, out of curiosity, I looked up Princess—mailing address is in Santa Clarita, CA. Huh? Maybe nowadays they no longer have glass and steel offices because everyone works remotely?

I am also new to Oceania (July 3, 2022, SIRENA, Ireland & England) and have cruised primarily on Celebrity and Princess.

The printed info on the website and on the mailed documents indicates that sandals are not allowed in the MDR in the evening.  Seriously?

I'm hoping an Oceania veteran can enlighten me.  Thanks!

Depends on the type of sandal. Flip-flops are definitely out, but stylish/dressy sandals are fine for the ladies.

Have yet to try Oceania.  Have a side question.  It sounds like higher classification cabins get preference.  With this reservation rationing, is it difficult for lower category cabins to use the specialty restnts?

Hi. The higher class cabins get to make reservations earlier (i.e. first). While it’s possible there will be nothing left by the time you log on, I have never had this happen. There are also waitlist opportunities. We have had success booking same-day with the maitre d of any of the other dining venues as they all use the same booking system.

  7. Hi. I’m not new to cruising, but I’ve forgotten…what, exactly, does waitlisted mean? I think I remember that travel agencies reserve a block of rooms to sell, then they release the empty rooms near the departure date. Is that right? We want to sail on Oceania in a tear from now and all of the PH and Veranda are waitlisted. ALL of them. What would you guess is the likelihood of getting in? I’ve asked O to call me but so far no answer, they did send a nice slick brochure though.

    Thank you

  8. Good morning, some friends are organizing a group cruise to Cuba, on Pearl Seas Cruise line. I have never heard of them and, maybe I missed it, but I didn’t see anything about it here. They do have a website.

    Thanks for your response(s).
