  1. My TA spoke to special services yesterday and requested that they review the problem again....

    They contacted IT and requested they correct the web page access for my locator number.

     

    And Lo and Behold

    This morning I am in.

    There ya go! Be courteous, polite and persistence.

  2. This is the problem in a nutshell.

    My TA and customer support at RCCL cannot access my reservation on the public web page. Ergo, I cannot sign in for online checking, breverage package, excursions.

    It's has been identified as their computer glitch.

    My reservation is valid in their system.

    I thought they can cancel and rebook. But reservation said I would loose the special promo.

    So we have escalated the problem to special services.

    Goodness gracious, they can fix. It's their system that is the problem.

     

    Now you can understand my frustration.....

  3. Changing cabins would give ne a new locator number.Thinking that a new booking would show up on their public web page. No one can adjust or change the booking. They say.... We would not get the same pricing.

     

     

    What a stupid system.

    I am just not speaking to the right department.

    I hope my TA can get this fix today when he calls special services.

  4. Took your advised and email C&A. After 2 days, they gave me the same story. Computer glitch. None of my contacts can access my account via public web page. It's a puzzlement for sure.

    I told them it was not acceptable. Then I received an email late today with a phone number to call.

    After being transferred and and a few minutes on hold....

    Jacqueline told me to have my TA call them. They should be able to resolve this.

    Special services and a direct phone line.

    He will call tomorrow morning.

    I requested a another cabin within my price range OR they can upgrade me. Ha,ha ha.

  5. Rccl online check in has been locked for our confirmation number for 7 days. They keep telling us to try again. I asked them to adjust/change our locator number and waiting for a reply.

    It was 7 numbers but they changed it to six when we changed our booking.

    Now u cannot get in AND getting the run around from customer support.

    What say you all!

  6. And do not remember, costs of items in us is much cheaper that Canada.we have a pine log cabin in P A. No tax on clothes so even with the exchange still a great buy.

    Now as far as Mexico, this will be our first cruise in this region. Caribbean and Mediterranean cost are some what higher. Much with the euro

     

    My shopping will be for the culture and artisans not frilly stuff or impulsive shopping. We will bring US funds for sure plus our client card for. ATM

     

    We have a US bank in P A

     

    All and all we should be ok

    Previous post would 120.00 US be enough

    Today 120 Canadian would give us 1876.68 pesos

     

    We plan to do some shopping. i find that the taxi drivers always said they did not have US change.

    We have a US credit card that we will be using as well.

    As you know most credit cards charge extra for foreign exchange fee.....

  8. We are booked January 7

    Coming in from Canada we will find an ATM at a bank and use our us money to exchange at Cabo.

    The biggest concern about using us money is the extra exchange. But if you pay in US $. do they give pesos back in change or US $?

    A 10 day cruise would 120.00 peso be enough for some shopping and incidentals

  9. We both have health issues. Buying health insurance for our trips is costly.

    My husband has a pace maker also. We get travel insurance. We do a lot of searching on the web to get the best deal. Just take the time to call. You will need to be stabilized for 90 days or more before your trip.

  10. It all depends on your price range.

    Several hotel chains (Best Western)pick you up at the airport free of charge.

    Then they bring you to Port Everglade for a nominal fee; usually about 12 per person.

    Some hotels will take you there for nothing.

    Just enter Hotel in Fort Lauderdale with shuttle service in your web search.

    It may take you some time but you will get several choices.

    My sister and travelling companion smokes so she insisted on an hotel with a balcony. She has offered to pay the taxi and shuttle services for me. So there you go. This was her choice. The room is reasonable. But breakfast is not included. It is on the beach so we will be enjoying our afternoon and evening

  11. It clearly states within the last 2 days. The date at the top would definitely mean that you need to fill it out no sooner than 2 days before you leave the port.

    So filling it out beforehand is a moot point. I always wait until I am at the port. Then the Health Questionnaire makes sense and it then becomes a legal document as it relates to the health and welfare of the individual. You do not want to play around with this document. If you have Health Travel insurance it clearly stipulates that your health must be in a stable condition.

  12. We took ONE tour out of Montego Bay one time.

     

    Our tour bus was attacked by rastafariens with big sticks

    trying to get the driver to stop...

    (I asked him what that was all about?

    He said they wanted to "rob us".)

     

    He just plowed through them...

    GOOD for him... :mad:

     

    Whoa there. When did this happen. We are taking a ship excursion to Montego Bay in January.

    This is very worrying for me.

  13. We are booked on the Allure on January 13.

    Can you tell me if the Market Place in Falmouth Jamaica is close to the port or do we have to get a taxi into town?

    The food photos are marvelous. Mmmm good enough to eat. This is going to be such a cruise we are so excited about it. Just wish we could get a decent air fare from Toronto to Fort Lauderdale without paying an arm and a leg and a piece of toast. LOL.
