I was so happy to see your review as this is the stateroom we will be staying in the week of March 19th.

  2. Go to the deck plans and find stateroom 1674. It's a C2 stateroom. Notice the square by the stateroom number -- that means the stateroom has a fold out sofa bed. Those are always by the balcony, thus the bed is by the bath.

All the staterooms alternate bed by bath/balcony/bath/balcony, etc. All you have to do is count.

That was my assumption too based on the "counting" method. I booked late and didn't choose the stateroom based on the location of the bed. I made a second call to Celebrity out of curiosity (and because the correct information is more often here) to see what the next person would say. I was told again the bed is by the balcony. I was a little more inquisitive and asked how exactly he knew that. He said all of the agents have a list, but it's only for S class ships. On that list, it only shows the cabins with the bed by the bath or as he called it "the bed in the middle." He said based on that list (unless the room was re-configured) I should assume our bed is by the balcony. So, I guess we will be surprised.

P.S. Wine-O, thank you for all of you replies. You have a lot of great information to share.

  3. It's got the bed by the bath -- I think you will be just fine with that stateroom.

Did I receive incorrect information from the concierge desk representative? He advised that the bed is by the balcony in 1666. I'm glad we didn't choose the room for the location of the bed, but I would be curious as to which it is, thus no surprises when we enter. Where can this type of information be found? Thank you!!!

  4. This thread is scaring me. Am I in trouble with Cabin 1690 ? View or soot or lack of overhang or size of balcony or ????

I think it's great to know in advance about the soot issue. I had read about it before last year's sailing but didn't pay much attention. We were on Deck 9 center aft. You are in a great place on the corner and you may not have as bad of an issue as we did. You are in a different location as well as 2 decks up. There is less shade as you go down to lower decks. We experienced soot our first hour in the stateroom. They were not noticeable at all as they are very tiny specks (before they build up and are visible in clumps.) When my husband sat down to enjoy the gorgeous view and then stood up, his khaki shorts were black. Once we fully understood the issue, we did request a full wash down of our deck furniture and floor every morning. We also checked before we sat down any time of day after that. Our favorite is STILL Aft (some call it Sunset) which we originally booked on this sailing. We had a couple of reasons for changing, one being A2 and C1 were the same price and second we are traveling with a friend who doesn't care for Aft. We gave up Aft and will experience Blu. You will love the fantastic, quiet, secluded location, the panoramic view and just be mindful there could be soot. (Cover the chairs with towels while you are not using the room can also be helpful because your deck isn't going to be hosed down multiple times each day.) Please correct me if I'm wrong, the soot comes from the smokestack which is located near the AFT but soot either only occurs on certain days (either sea or port I cannot remember) or certain times of day. Have a wonderful time! We loved it and thus are doing it a second time.

  5. No problem with view in your aft stateroom. If there is any soot while underway, just ask your stateroom attendant take care of it.

  6. Personally, I think the agent who told you that is full of crap. 1636 on Reflection is an excellent C1 stateroom on the hump - in fact, I have that one reserved for a October 2017 transatlantic. It has a larger balcony than most and has bed by the bath. From the balcony, you will have to strain your eyes at the rail to see the window-washing machine. It's way back there. You probably won't notice it from your balcony unless you are looking for it.

I really appreciate the reply. It's a shame how little information is available via the people at Celebrity on the phone and how much more information can be gotten here. Oh well. We are in 1666 a little further back. Last year we were Aft and truely loved the location. The only reason we didn't take a room there (and they are still available) is because of the soot and lack of an overhang. If those two things weren't an issue, that would have been our first choice. So, this year we'll try Blu. For the second time around, it will be different. Any insight on 1666 would be appreciated.

  7. So happy to hear that Alexander is still the Cruise Director!!

On another note, we absolutely loved Lawn Club Grill. It was a stand out for us and the only specialty restaurant we will revisit. We had fantastic food, so much fun and it was a great weather night! The specialty restaurants are a matter of personal taste.

  8. We are sailing next month and canceled our first cabin (1636) after being told by an agent on the phone about window washing equipment. I switched to 1666 with very few A2 cabins left. In reading other posts it seems like this equipment could be anywhere on the ship. The closest review I found to ours was 1660 on the same ship. If you call Celebrity and speak to someone with real knowledge of the ship, I have a feeling they can tell you where exactly the window washing equipment is. Good luck and let us know if you find out.

  9. Hoping for some advice on how I can reach Post Cruise Division directly or someone higher up to ask a question. I tried to book a cruise while onboard Constellation last week. They were constantly busy, but I met w/rep at last on final nite of cruise. He keyed in all my info and explained options. I wanted to briefly discuss Reserved vs Open Passage w/my DH, who was at the gym at the time. Unfortunately their office closed at 9pm and we missed the window to finalize.

I'm still hoping I may have a chance to book that Open Passage, since I did wait in line and meet with the rep while onboard. But I can't seem to reach anyone who can help me. I called/emailed from home less than 24 hours after disembarking. 4 emails to Captain's Club in past week....no answer. 3 attempted emails to customer service, requesting they be fwded to Post Cruise Division...no answer. 3 calls to Captain's Club- first rep said they couldn't help me. Called back to ask if they had the direct number for onboard booking..2nd rep gave me a number which was wrong. Next person told me I needed "Post Cruise" dept...but also gave me the wrong # - when I called it looped me back to general customer service #.) Made 2 more calls to general customer service: 30 & 40 min on hold each time before I had to give up and get back to work.

I can't ask my last TA for help because I want to keep this cert w/Celebrity for now, until I know the cruise I want and can compare TA offers.

Thursday will be 1 week since cruise ended. Should I just give up or are there other avenues? So frustrated at Celebrity right now. If they say no, I'm fine w/that: just want the courtesy of an answer. Love their cruises, but worst customer service from their offices I have ever experienced.

I have this number listed as post cruise assistance. The last option of the prompts could be the one you are looking for. 1-800-256-6649

  10. Today I booked the March 21 Quantum cruise, and when I go to the dining and entertainment options there is almost nothing available. I got Mama Mia for embarkation day & guest entertainer. But Starwater has no availability.

Dining is almost totally unavailable with exception of two nights at 9:30pm at American Icon and a bit more availability at Silk.

Is the punishment for a late booking being sent permanently to the Windjammer? I am D+ so will the concierge be able to get us a few shows and some dining pre-9:30pm?

On Allure we just walked into the "without reservations" line and were always seated quickly. Does that work on Quantum? We are happy to sit alone or with others.

You and I both booked yesterday and must have gotten the last two cabins! Now shows sold out. Did you get a balcony? I spent hours on the phone earlier this AM trying to make reservations. We are in the same boat as you and wondering if we should reconisder. I have until tomorrow for refund as I am within 24 hour window. Looks like a great group going on this cruise! Really want to go!!

  11. We do not cruise as much as most people on this forum but we thought it would be neat to be some of the first passengers on a new ship. That's why we are doing the 3 night sampler. Its something different. I think it will be a different feel than what you get on a regular cruise.

I agree! That is why I'm seriously considering it and trying to figure out where the pricing has been. Thank you and thank you to NelBlu for your reply.

  12. What type of "deal" for those of you who feel it was a good deal when you booked, was the all inclusive price for two adults? I put in 55 + and state of NJ. Today the price of an obstructed view balcony is same/similar as interior. I am very, very tempted. Just did a 24 hour courtesy hold. I've been wondering if a good portion of this cruise will be travel agents and others who won't actually be paying. I agree this will be a great experience. Has anyone been keeping a close eye on prices and where they look today as compared to months, even weeks ago?

  13. We've done this 5 day cruise twice as we live in NJ and wanted the convenience of driving to the Port. Both times we got there early and were on the ship early and had the entire afternoon on board. There is no reason for more than 2 days to be docked in Bermuda which makes this cruise more worthwhile than taking Celebrity which docks for 4 days. If you want to go to the beach, you don't have to sign up for an excursion. You can get a bus not far from the ship which takes you to the beach and its a nice scenic ride. Once you arrive you can walk down a big hill to get to the beach. There is a concession stand and chairs you can rent while there and not cheap. On the way back up to the Bus there is transportation for a very small fee as it's a steep hill. The beach is very nice. Walking around the town not far from the ship is nice too. For me twice on this cruise was enough but I think you will really enjoy it. We loved the My Time Dining because we chose what time to eat and made a reservation for each night. I believe you can call now and reserve your time if you don't like the early or late seating. I don't know if you are a frequent cruiser but on a 5 night cruise try to get to know the ship and what it has to offer as soon as you can so that you can enjoy everything over those 5 days. This ship I believe is leaving NJ permanently after this year to make room for the new Quantum of the Seas so this is your last chance to do this cruise. Enjoy!

  14. We just came off the Vision of the Seas and had the bEST cabin the world! For the first time we tried a cabin in the back of the ship on the corner...cabin 8588. The view was awesome and being on the end we had our own little wrap around hide away! We just loved it! i was nervous about vibrations or noise...no such thing!! If you ever get the chance to snag it...do it!!!:):)

We are on Deck 8 in a Junior Suite August 4th. Have read many complaints about noise from the pool being bothersome on deck 8. After reading your review, may reconsider the back of the ship. Thank you.
