  1. We are considering taking the red-eye into Boston the morning our cruise departs.  We would get in about 6am and would like to drop off our luggage before doing some walking around.  How early would the port be open?  This would be our first time flying in on departure day and have many qualms about doing so. Thanks in advance for any info.

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes, very quiet

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Open view

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

    Was wind a problem? -No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? -The shower is a tub/shower combo (which we knew) but could be was difficult to enter/exit, especially if there was much rocking. Something to consider if there are mobility issues.

Any other comments? -There is an amazing amount of storage in the cabin. The closet is parallel to the bed which can be awkward.

  3. Thanks for all the replies. I knew I could count on all of you. I'm trying to avoid the mega-ships but some people seem to like them. Hopefully there will be more options available soon. We were hoping to take advantage of the current "Free at Sea" promo but there will be more promos coming, I'm sure.

  4. DH and I have spent the weekend looking for a cruise to book for Sept-Nov 2017. We would like a 10-12 day Caribbean but can only find a (very) few 7 day trips. We were on the NCL Sun a couple years for a 10 day Southern which we loved but aren't able to find anything similar. Maybe the schedules aren't set yet? Or are all the ships somewhere else now? We have a future cruise credit to use so don't want to try another cruise line. We've enjoyed our three previous NCL cruises. I "haunt" this forum constantly so I'm sure someone will know.

  5. My husband and I are both fairly serious bowlers (averages 196 and 220) and bowled the first time we were on the Pearl but didn't even mention it the second time. It was fun for a one time thing but nothing like bowling anywhere else. Even if it were allowed, bringing personnel equipment would be a waste of space in the cabins. The lanes are not conditioned and we were excited to get a spare in the 5th frame. Bringing your own bowling shoes might be a good idea as the house shoes didn't slide. The bowling fees were expensive so not really worth it to bowl poorly.
