  1. My mother loves to travel but has nobody to travel with unless our family goes with her and we have two small children and cannot afford it at this time. I would love to bring up the idea of her going on a singles cruise hopefully to meet new friends and if she finds love then that is absolutely perfect!! She is 62 and my father passed away 3 years ago, so she is a widow. Prior to my dad passing away my parents used to always travel and traveling is the one thing that seems to interest her. Does anyone know of a good cruise to take for a 62 year old widowed female that is safe?? Thanks!!

  4. I prefer more expensive wines, but will drink cheaper wines if I have to. I wouldn't drink enough to break even on Cheers at $10 a glass though.

Cheers has been updated to cover any drink up to $50 per glass! That will pay for Cheers program easy! Good wines for sure!

  5. Is there a new chefs table menu ? We did the chefs table in October and it was amazing! We plan on doing it again in May on the Valor? Would love to have a new menu. Does anyone know if they have changed the menu since October or when they usually change the menu!

    HELP!

  6. Okay, would you share with us what the upgrade cost you?

Sure,,,, it was not cheap but It wasn't as much as I expected..... $1,200. I consider it a once in a lifetime experience for me! Now the cruise can't get here fast enough! Owners Suite, Halloween, and best friends, this is going to be a cruise to remember!:D

  7. We were in the Sensation Owners Suite last year and it was wonderful.. We just called and booked it directly though .. it is a VIP experience from the point you show your ID at the terminal -- we had 3 people handling our luggage, they carried it right up to the room -- my 9 year old foster daughter got to be "the first passenger" on the ship ... lots of smiles and service!

I'm excited, I took the upgrade! Question,.... You didn't check your luggage when you drove in? Or did the porters recognize your tags and handle them different? I normally have priority Checking since I'm platinum. Do they do it different when your in the owners suite?

    Thanks for all your help!

  8. We were lucky to get in one on the Ecstasy. Fantastic rooms with entry at the top of the main atrium (one on each side). An entry area with bar, large balcony, living room and a separate bedroom with floor to ceiling privacy glass to the main pool area. Also a huge bathroom with a very large whirlpool tub changing area and huge walk in closet. Wish they had them on other ships. The closet thing would be the Captains suites on some of the Conquest class.

If you don't mind me asking... How much was the upgrade... Ballpark figure?

  9. We used luggage express so all we had was a small carry on. We took the water taxi ride. Saw how the rich and famous live. We stopped and had a great lunch. With the water taxi you can stop and get off and get back on later for no extra charge. They run about every 20 minutes. Loved all the houses and boats. The driver knew everyone on the canal and who lived where. Just a lazy interesting afternoon. The drinks and meal where also great!

  10. I just missed a call from the up sale fairy. She is offering us the Owners Suite / Penthouse. But I don't have any details. We currently have a Grande Suite, 4 BFFs on a girls cruise. The "Suite Specialist is off until Monday so I can't get any details and not knowing is killing me! She is holding until I talk to her on Monday. Has anyone ever had the same opportunity and about what was the up sale cost. Was it worth it? What would be a good deal. How do they choose who they offer it too. This is my 18th Carnival cruise and I have only been offered a regular upgrade once! Is this a "special" offer?

Help! Any info would help my curiosity!

    Thanks

  11. If you really want the upsell, I do not think waiting until Monday is a good idea. As far as speculation for the cost...in my experience with upsells they really haven't been that less than the full price difference.

The only problem is that you can't book the owners suite so I have no idea what is a Good price for the upsale. Can anyone tell me what they paid for the Owners suite / penthouse 2?

  12. Just missed a call from the upscale fairy for the owners suite! Help! Anyone ever had the suite on Fasination? We are 4 BFFs currently booked in a grande suite, would it be worth the $ ?. Any ideas on what the upscale cost may be. The caller is out until Monday and ask me to call her back then. All the questions are killing me! Any info would help ease the pain until Monday. This will be my 19th cruise (18th on Carnival) and this is my first opportunity for the Owners Suite.... HELP!

  13. Has anyone used / heard anything about "sand lot parking"? They are located across from the terminal. They offer a free shuttle to and from the boat. They only charge $7 compared to $15 for the port parking. They claim to be well lit and secure. They take reservations. I am seriously considering using them. Would love to have some first hand info or experience. We sail Oct 29th but I am guessing they fill up quick.

  14.

That is the list that is supposedly the most current but That list doesn't list any whiskey!?? Crown isn't shown in either package. I found a list from 2014 that has Crown in the classic package. I can't believe that Celebrity doesn't serve Crown, Canadian Club or VO anymore!

Maybe the Celebrity Officials have a more complete list.

    Thanks for your help!

  15. Does anyone know which drink package Crown is on? It's not listed on either the Classic or Premium drink packages. I don't even see Canidian Club listed either.

    Thanks everyone!

  16. I just booked the Solstice for May 1st! Aqua Class! I am so excited. Not so sure how I will like a "cold" weather vacation but it's a bucket list item! I'm sure I will get plenty of hot weather before we go. Living in Panama City Beach we have a lot of that.

What will the weather be like in May? Any other helpful hits you have would be great! I know my why around Carnival but I'll be a first timer on the Solstice!
  17. Really enjoyed your review! We are trying to decide which cruise to take for Alaska. We've cruised several times with Carnival so we are really exploring another cruise line. With Celebrities 123go promotion they are really on top of the list. I actually have a coursety hold on an aqua class room on the Solstice.

I noticed in your review that your husband didn't go "formal". My husband is also not a fan of formal attire. He wants to be on vacation! But you had no problems? Did the ship seem relaxed and casual? I would expect it to be a little more formal than Carnival but I still want to be able to relax and be myself without fear of thinking I need to dress to the nines to go to dinner every night.

    How was the casino?

Thanks for your review again! Very helpful!
