glad to help you out. I have done a little more research (for my own purposes too :D ) and the price of hiring one is $40 plus $20 deposit which I figure is reasonable considering I priced a snorkel set including fins yesterday and they were $80 for the basic set.

Hi there,

Just to let you know, according to the information I received in my blue folder is that you can hire the snorkelling gear from the Aqua Hut on the boat and you get given a mask which is yours to keep. I don't know the price but it seems sensible enough not to have to pack your own snorkelling gear, hence leaving room for more souveniers :D
