Grand Princess isn't new to Australia, she was here last season homeporting in Melbourne. We cruised on her last March - Melbourne to Sydney via South Australia.

We'll be trying Resilient Lady in February thanks to the Velocity points offer. 😊

We are currently on the Grand Princess heading to Hawaii and the rumour is onboard she’s going over to PO Cruises Aust later next year.

  2. On board the Grand now,we left on the 4th Nov.

Assigned group A and arrived at 10.45am as we stayed overnight prior in the city.Upon arrival was told boarding wasnt open till 11.30 but we could drop our bags so we did and went for a coffee.Went back at 11.45am(bit a chaos in terminal)and in stateroom by 12.50PM. I believed it didn’t go well after this with people onboard saying it took some up to 3 hours+ to board.

Not sure what’s going to happen with boarding times for the next cruise on the 17th Nov as they might want to do a spring clean as we have Covid onboard.

Unfortunately we won't be in Melbourne on Friday.

Due to weather conditions, plus the medical emergency just after leaving Busselton, we won't arrive in Adelaide until Thursday. They haven't announced which of the remaining ports - Melbourne, Burnie or Hobart - will be axed.

Yes, according to Melbourne ports you are now arriving at 6.00am Sat 5th at station pier Melb.

I wonder if you were just fobbed-off without any real checks being done. No Aussie outlet on Grand, but I wonder if they have USB jacks in their cabins?

Might be time to look for something that doesn't need to plug in, unless they are banned because of the glare 😉

  5. Applied for our Share Holder benefit for our Nov 2022 Grand Princess cruise last Wed 17th August and received an email Sat 20th August saying that our $ 100.00 benefit had been applied to our booking.

I immediately checked online and sure enough it was there in our booking.

'shareholderbenefit@carnivalaustralia.com' was the email i used from the info on this post.

Thanks to all for the correct email to use.

    Cheers,

    Johhno.

  6. Does anyone have any info on a Princess Cruise Australia re structure?

I have had a recent email informing me that I have a new "Cruise Holiday Planner here at Princess Cruises". So this now takes it to my 3rd new planner this year with Princess, 4 in total.

We had to make an amendment with our pending cruise so I tried to contact my new planner. After 3 phone calls and leaving messages & several emails in the past 2 days I gave up.

So today was my CONTACT PRINCESS mission day to try and speak to my planner.

    I tried the following numbers:

    1800 945204

    1800 362695

    1300 960922

I have spoken to consultants in the Philippines, the USA and 1 other call centre (India, I think) , yet no one can connect me to an Australia call centre.

The long and short is that I have been advised that there is no longer a call centre or Holiday planners based in Australia (Sydney).

Has anyone tried to contact the Sydney office recently? If so, I would love to have a direct phone number.

    Cheers,

    Johhno

Can you please clarify for me as I'm in Australia.   Can you use get the obc for owning 100 shares of carnival for sailing on P&O cruises within Australia or is it only carnival and princess?

    thanks

    Kayla

Hi Kayla, yes if your a CCL shareholder you can get OBC for your P&O Cruises.

In saying this Im trying to get my OBC currently for our cruise on the Aria in Sept. Talk about put me through the hoops, never had any dramas with getting OBC with Princess before but this is a whole new ball game.

    Cheers

  8. Hi David ,thanks for the photos.

Akaroa was an interesting sailin as we arrived in heavy fog.

Even when tendering in the tenders were using their fog horns as we couldn’t even see 10 mtrs in front of us.cleared up to be a perfect day.

In Wellington today . Using free wifi at Te Papa museum at the moment. Been here before but always great for another look.

    Cheers Johhno.

  9. Firstly, thanks to Cheznandy, we have followed your posts down to Australia, taking lots of notes for our trip to New Zealand. The Majestic Princess is a beautiful new ship and we are enjoying cruising once again.

A few observations we have made so far:

We registered on the first day for the Ultimate Ship Tour $175 aud/pp only to be told that they now use a ballot system and that we are not guaranteed a spot. Not first in, best dressed as in previous cruises.

Laundry for Elites on this cruise is a 2 day turn around.

We have a fantastic cabin steward who has been with the Majestic since day one and is always up for a chat and laugh.

The International cafe is always busy. Seating is limited with everyone overflowing into the Vines wine bar.

There is no designated walking/track like the Royal and Regal. We walk around deck 18, walking through the sports/basket ball court.

Great to see the colour carpets coding for hallways, blue for port (left)side and red for starboard (right) side. Always helpful when leaving the lifts to find your side of the ship!

Whilst loving the Princess luxury beds (very comfortable), the beautiful Piazza and the little things that make Princess our preferred cruising choice, we still prefer the layout of the Diamond and Sapphire Princess ships.

Must away for now AFL about to start on MUTS.

    Go EAGLES !!!

    Cheers Johhno.
