  1. We are booked on the Enchanted for January 2021.  Would like to think it will go ahead but until we have a vaccine social distancing will be part of every day life and cruising may not be an option until then.  I do wonder which countries will be willing to let cruise ships dock with the ongoing threat of this virus hanging over everyone .

  2. If I allowed negative passenger reviews to influence my cruise choices, I would have missed many wonderful cruises. Like so many online reviews of anything, they’re mostly people who complain & not from happy customers.

I’ve been on the same cruise doing the same things & wonder if the negative review passengers were on the same cruise. And some passengers overreact & allow minor things to ruin their cruise. Things can go wrong but each of us decides how to react. I don’t sweat the small stuff and as long as I’m healthy & on a cruise everything else is small stuff.

We’re eagerly looking forward to sailing on the Sapphire this summer & after the drydock will have the new mattresses & a spiffed up ship. :D

Very true - our bed in balcony cabin C244 was extremely comfortable, didn't seem to be needing replaced in our view

  3. we are on this one too - worried re all the poor reviews!

Don't worry - we are just home from 15 nights on the Sapphire. We also read the negative reviews, however they proved, in our view, to be mostly unsubstantiated. Crew were excellent and always keen and happy to help. The food was excellent, portions smaller in the main dining room, but more than adequate, lots of choice in the buffet. Our only negative was the standard of some of the entertainers, rather poor apart from 2 young violinists who were excellent Due to location of the ports felt that time onshore was too short and found we spent a lot of time clock watching.

  4. Snobbery comes in many formats, and that includes listing all your previous cruises in your signature:D

Yes totally agree - it has always intrigued me why people feel the need to list all previous and upcoming cruises -basically who cares

  5. Does anyone know exactly how far in advance you can pre-book seats. P&O website really confusing as in one part of cruise personaliser it states 14 weeks prior to your cruise and then further down it states 9 weeks. If my memory serves me correctly the last few years have been 12 weeks.

    thanks:confused:

  6. I don't fancy ever cruising from Southampton because of that 2 or 3days before you get anywhere, and of course the dreaded Bay of Biscay. Having said that, we are also on the cruise from Malaga to the Caribbean and I'm sure the Atlantic will compare with the Bay of Biscay! It will be hot when we sail off though.

Yes agree - not keen on cruising from Southampton as on a typical 2 week trip you have 2-3 days each end with what can be dodgy weather - far better to fly to the sun and pick up ship there, but each to their own

  7. Thanks for that Bells, I am on a BA scheduled flight so cannot book seats as yet.

Hi not sure if this will help but seem to remember that when we did not have a booking ref, as seats were booked through a third party, we were able to book seats by getting the airline code

    regards
