Good news from the captain that the engine repairs have been sucessful and the techos are putting the finishing touches.. but it is the Seas that are slowing us now.. a bit of movement but I think coral handles it well... tomorrow we will have a better idea if aqaba will be on time.... cross fingers

Are there any signs on Covid onboard? We were on the Round Australia cruise last year that had a big outbreak so I'm interested to know what is happening now. Numbers were still high in NSW when Coral departed but have dropped in the last week.

So i am going to try really hard to keep this one as current as possible... this cruise is different from other holidays, as with all these sea days i get the opportunity to sit relax and blog....  for those who have been on our other world cruises you will know where to find me.... well different ship similar location..... I always love a chat as you pass by.....  don't I Dunc!!!

Les I have been going through my Antarctica photos and hope to make a start on that blog as well...  Since we have been home we have moved house and it has been non stop trying to get the new place up to scratch!!

had a great full day in BA yesterday and today we are doing a cruise down the Tigre…. Pretty hot here… early morning tomorrow and heading to the airport for our flight to Ushuaia

My friends, you are in for a treat, my son, his wife and two teenage daughters were on Ocean Victory last month, they had a great time.  From my son who has now been on it it twice, checking things for the company, the food is very good and the vessel handled Drake Passage well.  Don’t get money from the ship the exchange would be terrible….  Nearly every port is in Euros…. We take a mixture of cash and we have our non fee credit card and yes always have it charged in local currency….  We also have an account that we can put. A couple of thousand in and use at an atm… again fee free. 
 

Thankyou for taking the time to catch us up on your live report....  it makes it very exciting for us who have this cruise to look forward to in August...  we will be continuing onto to Rome and then spending 6 nights there ....  Am excited to be there long enough to get evening shots as in the past we have only visited on Cruises....

Interesting place, called in there on Golden Princess, Buenos Aires to LA in 2014. Did the shorex trip to the bottom of the world, Terra de Fuego National Park, something like that. 

There were 4 of us and we got a taxi that took us to the National park, visited the end of the American highway, the southern most post office and the railway station.  The weather was miserable, so the driver took us out to this great little Argentinian BBQ restaurant, where we polished off 2 bottles of malbec and sat around the fire drinking their version of Irish Coffee...

If we have spare time when we return, that is where we are going !!

looking forward to going back to Ushuaia on a clear day to see that beautiful mountain backdrop we missed on our last trip

Thanks for those Les…. Our one regret is that trip does not include South Georgia…. Although we have already seen the king penguins out of Stanley (falklands)…. They are do beautiful we want to see them again….

there is a great show with a daddo brother cruising Antartica……..Garry’s excited about the footage he will get…

No .... so we did it with bated breaths.... the guy I spoke to says that if covid is a reason for cancelation they will give us a credit (ugg not another one) .... we have looking at insurance which is another issue altogether .... I think a lot of companies are changing their policies over the next few weeks, Chubb the underwriters of Amex CC insurance are putting out their new T & C's on the 15th March, and trip a deal are bringing something out with  Alliance...

We have had friends who have used trip a deal with no problem ... so lets cross our fingers...

Excellent ..... well we have 12 months I think our cruise starts on around the 27/28 Feb for 10 days.... we start with a couple of nights in BA then a night or two in Ushuaia, another night when we get back.... The day were in Ushuaia on our south American cruise it was that dismal that you could not see the mountain backdrop against the city..... hope the skies are as blue for us as it is for your son....so looking forward to more pictures

I did try to get Dunc to join us!!!

Woohoo Les.... we just booked a cruise on the Ocean Victory this week.....  We picked up a Trip a Deal package... 23 Feb 2023 we leave Australia....  Seeing these pics gets us excited.... I may have to buy a real camera for this trip.....
