  1. To anyone that cares...Just got confirmation from the Captain... Explorer is heading directly home and will be back on the 29th , 2 days early for deep cleaning and are to make arrangements for everyone to get home and will be compensated for there losses.

Thank you very much for taking time out from your cruise to keep us posted on the norovirus outbreak on EX. DH/I will be on the 1/31 cruise and we've been very worried about everyone on EX and what will take place with our cruise on Friday.

I feel horrible for those on the ship that are ill or those doing their best to remain healthy and make the best of it.

Stay healthy and thank you again.

  2. Hi Everyone:

Since I haven't sailed on a Freedom class ship yet, I have a few questions regarding aft cabins. I hope someone can help me out.

    Cabins:

    JS ~ 7712, 7714, 1414, 7412, 1706, 1406.

    D1 ~ 1700, 1702, 1704, 1404, 1402, 1400.

Has anyone stayed in any of these cabins? If so... do you have any pictures?

What's the view like from the cabins on deck seven? I'm familiar with the super structure in the back and that doesn't bother us.

1706/1406 are connecting cabins ~ was there an issue with noise in the next cabin? Any difference in the room setup due to the connecting door?

1702/1704/1404/1402 ~ How do these cabins compare to the standard D1 cabins on the side of the ship? On Explorer, the cabins look like they have more room between the sofa/bed. Is it the same on Freedom?

1400/1700 ~ Does it have the same layout as 1388/1688 on the Voyager class ships?

Most likely I'll be booking a cruise on a Freedom class ship in 2010. DH/I love aft cabins and are hoping to stay in one. By the time we cruise.... we might be traveling with an addition to the family (we are trying to adopt) so I need to make sure that the cabins are spacious enough for baby stuff (pack-n-play), etc. as well as our items. Also a decent size baloncy for us to enjoy while the baby is napping.

Any information/pictures you could provide me on the cabins I listed above would be greatly appreciated.

I tried to do a search on these cabins but the search feature is not working right now.

Thanks so much for your help!:)

    Sea ya!

  3. Atocha Shipwreck Gal:

Thanks so much for your feedback. A group of us booked with Levi for our cruise in December. If you can post some pictures it would be wonderful.

Glad you had a wonderful cruise and a great tour with Levi!

    Sea ya!

  4. My boyfriend (now DH) surprised me with a cruise in 1992 for my birthday. To try and make this short.. (yeah, right) ~ he spoke to my parents and my boss to make sure that I can go. He told me that I needed to pack specific clothes for a few days and I couldn't ask any questions. The day before the cruise he left me notes with instructions that I had to follow and not ask any questions. The next day a white stretch limo picked me up at my parents house and took me to the airport. The driver wouldn't even tell me where I was going. I get to the airport and a friend was there waiting for me. She took me all over the airport. When I finally got to the gate, my boyfriend popped out of nowhere. Okay I knew I was going somewhere with him and we were flying to Miami. I never cruised before so I was completely clueless. Once we are on the plan and now 30,000 feet in the air, he pulled out this navy blue travel pouch and said "My love, happy birthday!... we are going on a one week cruise on Sovereign of the Seas." I nearly hit the ceiling. I wanted to do cartwheels on the plane but was stuck in my seat! All I know is that when I saw the ship I flipped out. Seeing them on TV, pictures, magazines, etc. is one thing but in person was unbelievable. Once he told me how he planned everything I was completely amazed. He dedicated so much time and love into this that I knew I found my future husband. I had no clue and then all of the crazy things that happened the week before the cruise finally made sense. I will never forget it!

  5. Since I'm one of the those organized type people... LOL I keep an Excel spreadsheet of what I need to pack for a cruise and always keep it on file for the next cruise. I keep a separate list with the clothes for my DH/myself and divide it up into sections (formal, pants, shirts, shorts, etc.) so I know what I'm packing. I also do research on the ports on what to do other than the ship excursions if we feel like venturing on our own. The fun part is SHOPPING! For some reason I always have to buy something new to wear on the cruise... LOL This year is black dress shoes and a gown that I was able to purchase for $15 which is gorgeous. Like I need another pair of shoes or a gown but it's part of the fun.

The joke this year is that I'm woking on the cruise this month and planning our 10th anniversary cruise for next year. We will be renewing our vowels and I'll be wearing my wedding gown again. I'm already excited about the cruise in 2005 and haven't gone on this one yet. LOL Definitely keeps me busy but it's great.
