Does anyone know how early the passes go on sale? So far it’s lusted as buy onboard, but I’d like to get the discount by pre-booking. Thank you!
I was able to buy ours on final payment day.

Those on my roll call for the Escape 30 Sept received the upgrade email about 80 days out. We never did receive an invite even though we booked with NCL direct. No problem for us as we would not have wanted to bid but I was surprised that even booking direct with NCL does not guarantee you will get the invite.

Are the laundry bags paper or fabric? When I was on NCL Star in 2011 the bags were paper. I always travel with duct tape which I used to reinforce the bags as it would tear easily.
Most of the time they were paper, however when I requested a bag on our last BA cruise as they were missing from the closet, our room steward brought a fabric bag with a string tie. We have never needed to tape up the paper bag and I do admit, I stuff it full, but I do not put wet clothes in the bag.

We were very satisfied with the results - folded in a basket - nothing missing or damaged, however they do put iron-on tags with your room number on each piece except socks and ladies undergarments. These buggers are hard to get off of some fabrics and some have stayed on for years LOL. I agree, I would not send any ladies swimsuits - I did one bottom once and the Lycra/spandex broke down quickly after that.

My sailing - which we booked 4 weeks ago is included, however the price increased so much it cost more to book tax free.

We booked today's for February 2019. Better safe than sorry... LoL

Not for us. We received a check about four weeks after the cruise ended for the unused refundable credit.

The BAs gym is actually divided.one side has the weights and the aerobics room and across the hall is the treadmills steppers etc. The website only shows that half.:D

A few years ago we stayed on the ship when docked in Jamaica and did get a credit... It was small something like 9 dollars each. We did not request it, it just appeared and when we asked we we're told it was the refund of the Port fees.... So you may get something, but don't expect much.

The BA has the same... A sauna and treatment rooms in the Haven. My dh said it was hotter than the one in the Spa complex.
-
They are smaller rooms, for example, there is really no room for in room dining.

1 for 3 for us... No go on the BA (April or October)
-
Yes... Just tip accordingly. Enjoy!

We sail out of NYC and almost always the arrival time is listed as 10am. However I cannot remember a time that we were not actually in Port before 7am with early walkoff starting at 7:30. Boarding usually starts between 11 and noon depending on how long it takes to clear the ship.

My experience has been that an initial 300 hold was placed on the card. This has been on every ship we have sailed to date - for a couple with prepaid grats. Not sure if it would different for more passengers in the room or if grats are not prepaid
Have a great cruise!

The last few times on the Gem and BA they had morning stretch and abs class but they are held in the gym not on deck... There's no charge for these sessions.

Now that you mention it.....I did get an email from NCL a week or two ago telling me to do my online check-in and I just laughed when I read it to my hubby and blew it off since I already had my edocs printed. Then when I logged in the other day I saw we were only 80% checked-in. Once I chose a time for each of us from the full array of times available, we went back to 100%. Guess next time NCL sends me an email telling me to do my online check-in when I think it's done, I'll check to see what they have changed. Never before did Platinum or Platinum Plus have to choose a time we planned to get to the port. In fact it had a little blurb saying we didn't have to choose a time because we are Platinum Plus.
We had the same thing happen. Previously as Platinum/Plus - the time just stated "Open". This time it required that I enter a time to have my previously completed check-in to go back to 100% complete (the time selection was not there when I first completed the check-in). I also noticed on my eDOCs it now says " Guest arriving to the pier before your select arrival time will be asked to come back at the appropriate time." This was not the document for our Oct cruise - so I am thinking that they are getting ready to enforce the time selected.

Our final payment for our Feb cruise on the Gem was Thanksgiving weekend and I was able to buy the spa passes on line right after making the payment (90 days out as I am not in the Haven). About an hour later someone else on our roll call mentioned that they could not purchase the passes online. I know that they are not sold out as I am able to book more passes thru my vacation planner. I wonder what kind of gremlin can cause this type of issue.

What I have noticed is that since the upgrade advantage program has gone fleet wide, there has been very little movement in the price of Haven suites as they will be filled with the upgrades rather than by lowering prices.
-
Same for us - 300
-
Our bid from balcony to Haven Spa Suite on BA was in the poor category - just enough above minimum to move the needle. We "won" the upgrade 4 weeks prior to sailing with 3 rooms available so I am not sure what their method for acceptance is.

You will want ID that matches you ship card. So you should bring your passport

Another vote for the Gem. We have done both ships and like the size and layout of the Gem much better. Plus I think the itinerary for your Gem selection is much better than the BA. However, if you are traveling with children, the BA will offer more on board activities than you will find on the Gem.

The UBP does not cover items in the mini fridge. Your buttler will keep the Pepsi stocked if you request it but you will be charged for it.:(
