    Thank you for the feedback...

Does it also have male/female sauna and steam room and a hot tub? Hard to see from the pics?

There is a co-ed hot tub in the main main room with the stone and padded loungers and thalassotherapy pool. Each changing room has a single sex large windowed sauna and steam room, single user whirlpool tub, showers and lockers.

  2. Those on my roll call for the Escape 30 Sept received the upgrade email about 80 days out. We never did receive an invite even though we booked with NCL direct. No problem for us as we would not have wanted to bid but I was surprised that even booking direct with NCL does not guarantee you will get the invite.

  3. Are the laundry bags paper or fabric? When I was on NCL Star in 2011 the bags were paper. I always travel with duct tape which I used to reinforce the bags as it would tear easily.

Most of the time they were paper, however when I requested a bag on our last BA cruise as they were missing from the closet, our room steward brought a fabric bag with a string tie. We have never needed to tape up the paper bag and I do admit, I stuff it full, but I do not put wet clothes in the bag.

  4. We were very satisfied with the results - folded in a basket - nothing missing or damaged, however they do put iron-on tags with your room number on each piece except socks and ladies undergarments. These buggers are hard to get off of some fabrics and some have stayed on for years LOL. I agree, I would not send any ladies swimsuits - I did one bottom once and the Lycra/spandex broke down quickly after that.

  5. We sail out of NYC and almost always the arrival time is listed as 10am. However I cannot remember a time that we were not actually in Port before 7am with early walkoff starting at 7:30. Boarding usually starts between 11 and noon depending on how long it takes to clear the ship.

  6. Now that you mention it.....I did get an email from NCL a week or two ago telling me to do my online check-in and I just laughed when I read it to my hubby and blew it off since I already had my edocs printed. Then when I logged in the other day I saw we were only 80% checked-in. Once I chose a time for each of us from the full array of times available, we went back to 100%. Guess next time NCL sends me an email telling me to do my online check-in when I think it's done, I'll check to see what they have changed. Never before did Platinum or Platinum Plus have to choose a time we planned to get to the port. In fact it had a little blurb saying we didn't have to choose a time because we are Platinum Plus.

We had the same thing happen. Previously as Platinum/Plus - the time just stated "Open". This time it required that I enter a time to have my previously completed check-in to go back to 100% complete (the time selection was not there when I first completed the check-in). I also noticed on my eDOCs it now says " Guest arriving to the pier before your select arrival time will be asked to come back at the appropriate time." This was not the document for our Oct cruise - so I am thinking that they are getting ready to enforce the time selected.

  7. Our final payment for our Feb cruise on the Gem was Thanksgiving weekend and I was able to buy the spa passes on line right after making the payment (90 days out as I am not in the Haven). About an hour later someone else on our roll call mentioned that they could not purchase the passes online. I know that they are not sold out as I am able to book more passes thru my vacation planner. I wonder what kind of gremlin can cause this type of issue.
