This is his latest video on the ships and crew in Manila Bay

G+T. Thanks so much for posting this. We were on the Coral in January and love the ship. Followed the Other thread when passengers were still posting and will definitely continue with this one. I hope all crew members on all ships will be home soon.

    From onboard:

UK passengers have been notified that HMG are facilitating repatriation from Fort Lauderdale on or soon after 4 April. Coral Princess will accommodate us until flight ready to leave. We will require transit ESTA.

Final details will not be advised until much closer to arrival.

    Some positive good news!

Such good news! You have such a great attitude but you must just want to get home. So glad to hear it will be facilitated.
We traveled a lot last year and to many of the areas now hard hit. We were happily on the Coral in January. Never like the long flights but travel was possible if not lovely. The cruise was well worth it. wow! But glad to be home! What a different world now.
We observed the Grand yesterday. Appears that quarantined crew still onboard. At least they have balconies now. We waved, no waves back. Am sure they just want to be home. Grateful that you are all healthy. You will disembark to a whole new world.
Safe travels and thanks for your posts.

    On board.

We are going to Rio because US government has decided to come into the game, and want non US off the ship before FL. UK government is facilitating us lot as many already have confirmed flights we could catch.

    All depends on Brazil.

Short message as I'm just about to go to dinner and what might be last meal on board!

So following and hope you eventually get home without hassle. We were on that wonderful ship with that wonderful crew in January.
thanks for the updates and your upbeat attitude will get you through.

  4. For those of you who hold a minimum of 100 Carnival (CCL/PLC) shares, here is the current Shareholder Benefit Request Form, valid for sailings through to July 31, 2015, you need to complete to obtain your OBC's. I have also attached the official press release from Carnival outlining the amount of OBC's you will receive. :D

Seems at one time there was a form. Then not. This is current and thanks!

  5. I was satisfied with the old products and never needed to pack my own. I have a great hair cutter and never have to fuss with my hair. Not so with the new stuff! My husband was amazed when I was upset trying to style my hair.

Bring your own, at least conditioner. That's what I will try this cruise.

  6. My husband and I took the repositioning 3 day Pacific Coastal cruise on the Star Princess May 9th. This was our first Princess cruise and our 8th cruise overall. (For those who have signatures turned off we have sailed Carnival, RCCL, and NCL)

Although this isn't a normal cruise I wanted to write a review so people could see some pictures of the ship and have a chance to ask any questions they may have :)

We boarded the ship in Vancouver, BC Canada, we had one stop in Victoria, BC then had a day at sea. On the 12th we disembarked in San Francisco. Right before this cruise we took a 5-day Pacific Coastal on NCL to Vancouver. We sailed on this ship to get back home. Why fly home when you can cruise home??? :D

So much wonderful info. We will be on the Star in August and your observations and photos are so helpful. We were on her when she was quite new and so glad to see your updates. Love your upbeat read on all. Thanks!

  7. Mapu,

Are you familiar with the actual rooms, or just a general comment . Couldn't get a qualified answer from Princess.

    Thanks.

For those of us who read forums I believe you will find Mapu quite knowledgeable. That being said, you did receive an upgrade because you would be closer to the center of the ship. However, my husband always books Caribe for the larger balcony (approx double).

  8. Current tally (10 day or longer cruises):

Crown: 11/20/12 - 12 day Greek Isles - No (Reason: lack of sufficient wine inventory)

Crown: 12/02/12 - 20 day Med/TA - No (Reason: lack of sufficient wine inventory)

    Diamond: 11/26/12 - 18 day Far East - No

    Diamond: 12/14/12 - 14 day South Pacific - No

    Diamond: 02/08/13 - 14 day South Pacific - Yes

    Emerald: 01/06/13 - 10 day Eastern Caribbean - No

Emerald: 01/16/13 - 10 day Southern Caribbean – No (Reason: they kept running out of stock)

Emerald: 01/26/13 - 10 day Eastern Caribbean - No (Reason: they kept running out of stock)

Emerald: 02/05/13 - 10 day Eastern Caribbean - No (Reason: they kept running out of stock)

    Golden: 01/16/13 - 14 day Hawaii – Yes

    Star: 09/26/12 - 10 day Mexico - No

Star: 10/06/12 - 15 day Hawaii - No (Reason: no wine sommelier was on board)

Looks like Golden, Island, Ocean, Pacific and Sapphire offer the packages, Crown, Emerald, Grand and Star don't and your guess is a good as mine for the Ruby. Hopefully the Diamond will continue offering after problems last year.[/quote

    IECal Cruiser,

Many thanks for info. We all know that things can differ ship to ship and by varying crew. Thanks for gathering the info.

We appreciated having the Wine Package on the Pacific on Dec 2, 2012. We were a lively group of 8 and the package simplified ordering if we stuck to the Silver. Didn't miss anything of everyone's day that way and the selections were fine for dinner. We all purchased our Packages while we had our reunion drink at the Pool Bar so had the cards to take to the dining room. Each night went smoothly when ordering and that way we could decide on #'s of red or white depending on who was having what.

Also must comment that compared to other lines we find Princess wine selections reasonable and with a decent selection. Will try the upgrading on our upcoming cruise if we are fortunate enough to have it available on the Grand.

  9. Tallinn, Estonia, is a great place to see on foot. It is a medieval town with old walls, buildings and churches that just beg to be explored. A walking tour on your own is very doable and advisable for this great city.

I have had many people ask me if it was ok to print the walking tour I have put together for Tallinn. And, of course, that is fine. But to make this easier I have also converted them to pdf format. That means that there are no nasty page breaks and you can print the pages you want. I have done the same for the walking tours of Bruges, Belgium, and Amsterdam. If you like to have a look, go to the following web pages and click on the pdf links shown on the first page. To download the pdf files be patient, they take a bit longer.

    For Tallinn go to

    http://www.*****.com/tallinnwalk.html

    For Bruges it is

    http://www.*****.com/Brugge%205.html

    And for Amsterdam

    http://www.*****.com/Amsterdam.html

Enjoy the Baltic cities and your days at sea.

So helpful. Thanks for all of your work!
