  1. We are just off the Pacific Eden, we cruised from Adelaide to Melbourne and although there are lots of less than kind reviews we where pleasantly surprised.

We stayed in suite number 10039, while very comfortable with plenty of room and storage, the room is really overdue for some major TLC.

Our balcony was huge with a table and 4 chairs, plus 2 sun lounges and there was still heaps of room.

The Nespresso coffee machine and Elimis products where nice touch.

We really loved the public areas, they have been upgraded to a high standard and are all very beautiful and the color schemes and designs are just fabulous. They flow nicely from one space to another.

The Blue Room was by far my favorite, with a great jazz theme and beautiful fixtures, the coffee and cocktails are very good here!:)

We enjoyed all the shows that we saw in the theater. The comedians they had on board where very funny :). We thought it was a good idea for them to have 3 sittings for their production shows to allow everyone a chance to see it on the given night. Although small the theater is very comfy.

We booked Angelo's and the Dragon Lady as soon as we where able....

The Dragon Lady had beautiful décor and a lovely atmosphere....but sadly that is where it ended, the food and service where very poor. There is no cover charge for this restaurant.

I just loved the look of Angelo's it had the most fabulous décor....but sadly the food and service did not match my excitations, the food was tasty but very small serves. There is also no cover charge for Angelo's

The Waterfront Restaurant also has been beautifully renovated and has a lovely atmosphere. The service here was better, but would benefit from a better Maître d. The food was very good, a great selection to choose from.

The Panty was great, we loved the layout and never had trouble finding a seat. The food was a real surprise with a great selection on offer daily.

I loved the fact that there where not piles of plates with wasted food all over the place.

We did not use the Salt Grill or the Grill and to be honest did not see many other passengers using them either.

My son and I did some of the activities at The Edge, they where offering the Childs Gold Pass at the Silver Pass price I think it was about $130.00, but he could do all the actives they had to offer, he loved the Rope Course (as did I;)), the laser tag, the cargo net climb and flying fox and the laser tag. There was so much more on offer but due to the weather not being the best that is all that he did.

Our daughter really enjoyed the kids club, there was plenty for her to do.

All in all we had a great cruise, and would sail on the Eden again, there are just few little tweaks that P&O could do and this would be a top little ship.

I am sorry but I do not know how to post photos!!

  2. Thanks FireEater for a amazing comparison, very informative.

We where on the Epic for the first time in January and in the Haven loved it, we are also on the Divina this coming November and December in a YC1 cabin and really looking forward it from what we have been reading so far.

  3. Thanks everyone for your feed back, it is fantastic.

We are very excited and have just booked and extra 7 nights on top of our b2b in November.

It sounds like the YC Restaurant will be just fabulous and Eatliy is a definite must try.

    Thanks Again everyone :)

  4. Hi there

We are cruising with MSC for the first time later this year our of Miami and we just have a few random questions. Thankyou in advance for any feedback.

The Yacht Club Resturant menu, does it vary daily, unlike the NCL Epic Haven Resturant that was the same every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

In a YC1 cabin, will the room steward put the sofa bed away daily? To save space!!

Are there nice toiletries in the bathroom?

The specialty restaurants are they worth trying and is the cover charge reasonable?

I am sorry for the random questions and thankyou again in advance.

  5. Has anyone stayed at the Grand Beach Hotel Surf Side?

It looks very nice on their website. Is there plenty of shops and cafes in that area? Is it a safe area for families?

    Thanks

  6. Is anyone else cruising the Med worried about this situation? We are going to be on the Epic in January and had planned to spend 2 nights in Paris afterwards. We are starting to get worried about our trip. I don't want to give in to the fear. That's what they want. But I also want to be cautious.

We are on the same cruise as you, and yes I am worried too.

  7. Hi Megacruiser,

I am loving your fabulous detailed review, we are sailing on the Epic in January this will be our first time with NCL, your review has been very helpful so far. Thankyou for all your efforts.

I do have one question if you do not mind, we have the UDP & UBP, my DH and I enjoy our coffee and are wondering if the Latte's in the Atrium Cafe are included with the UBP.

    Thanks again

  8. Hi to all and thankyou in advance for any information that you can help with.

DH & I and our kids (13 & 9) are sailing on the Epic in January 2016, this will be our first cruise with NCL, we are staying in a 2 bedroom Family Villa in the Haven.

Coffee & Pastries in the Cafe at the Atruim are these available with the UBP? We normally only drink Latte or cappachino.

The cover charge in the specialty resturants, is this covered by the UDP? I think that I read that the A la Carte charges are not covered with the UDP?

I have read about the red and green cards in Moderno's, what are these?

I know that as we go I will have more questions but any other hints or tips that anyone can offer will be much appreciated.

    Thanks again in advance

  9. We too have been having website issues, our reservations are there but not our "Pick Your Perk".

We booked back in March and everthing was great chose our Pick YOu Perk from what was on offer and paid all the relevant deposits, the customer service staff could not have been more helpful....well that is where it ended.....

We where having trouble with our Captains Club on line details also so after many many phone calls, need I say more.

During those phone converstions to the now less than helpful customer service staff I asked about the fact that we could not see our Pick Your Perk promo on our booking only to be told the it would show closer to the cruise.

We phoned again last week to find out the date for the final payment for our cruise to be told that "oh no madam you have not chosen a Pick Your Perk "Perk" and by the way your cruise price has increased, by this stage I am fuming at the less than helpful Customer Service guy who finally takes a moment to take a look back at our booking only to tell me again sorry madam but it seems that due to a computer glitch you "Perk" has been deleted, Why did this not get noticed before by the not so helpful customer service staff.

Anyway out booking has now been escalated to bee what the issues are, well that was a week ago and after another call yesterday it has been escalated again.

Sorry for the rant.....but I think that you all need to check your booking in every detail ASAP.

  10. My sister and I will be cruising the Mediterranean this October with 10 or so ports and all day excursions planned for each. We do have one sea day towards the end and that's it:eek:

For those of you who have cruised a similar itinerary, how do you keep your energy up? We are excited and are looking forward to our trip but have concerns we just might collapse!

Thanks for any tips you may have.

We did similar last year B2B cruises, 28 nights 3 sea days I think! It will depend on your stops.

We investigated ports that we could do on our own and we found that for us we did quite a few on our own and still saw lots.

    Have a great cruise.

  11. Hello to all,

We are a family of 4 and just wondering if Wellington is an easy city to explore on your own? Are there lots of things to see and do close to where the ship (Celebrity Solstice) is docked?

Thanks in advance for any information or suggestions.

    Cheers

  12. We are back from our fabulous cruise aboard the Celebrity Silhouette. It was a

no-brainer to book our transfers and tour with Rome-in-Limo before we left.

We had an airport transfer from the airport (Rome) to our hotel and then a couple of days later from Rome to the port. Our drivers where on time and very friendly.

In Naples (1st day of cruise) we again had a tour booked with Rome-in-Limo, we had chosen the family friendly Pizza School in Sorrento and also a visit to Positano and the Amalphi Coast. Tony was our driver, and he was absolutely fabulous. He was waiting on the dock in Naples to whisk us away for a memorable day. First we headed along the coast to Positano, stopping along the way for plenty of photos, we had plenty of time in Positano to explore before we headed off to Pizza School. We were taken to the Red Lion Restaurant where our pizza chef was waiting, we made pizza from scratch and then waited while they cooked in the wood fired oven. I can't tell you how much fun we had, it was totally awesome. One the was back to Sorrento we enjoyed singing with Tony.

Tony was very informative and gave us plenty of time for exploring and shopping. He truly made our day in Naples the best ever. Thanks for the Liminchello Tony!!!!!!

Our final transfer was back in Rome and we where lucky to have the fabulous Francesco as our driver, this is the 4th time we have been lucky to have Francesco, it was great to catch up with him.

We would highly recommend Rome-in-Limo when in Italy, they make you feel very welcome and very safe, and with singing too what more could you want......

    Thanks Rome-in-Limo.

  13. Hi Terry in Ohio

I have been reading through your reveiw and looking at all your AMAZING photos, you have done a FABULOUS job at putting it all together.

We are heading off in October on the Silhouette and I hope that you do not find this to be a strange question, so hear goes......Do you recall if there where model ships in the shops on board, we have collected them before on cruies that we have taken they are normally pewter type metal mounted on a little bit of wood.

Thanks in advance and thanks again for the fabulous review.

    Cheers

    Donna

  14. Hi Ladies

I would love to join your group. I was given my WII Fit for Mothers Day.

10th May 2009, I have only used it twice, as I have had and still have a horrid cold that won't go away and have quite a very busy life, work full time, two young kids, hubbby, hobby farm on weekends.

My aim is to use my WII Fit twice a week (more offten after we have finished our olive harvest) and tone some of the wobbly bits lets over from being pregnant. We are booked on a Costa cruise in September this year that is my motivation.

    Good luck to us all.

    Donna :)
