  1. Drew's Wife, I have to say how happy I was to see you posting today. I will explain and hopefully not sound like a crazy stalker. When I first joined cc you gave my daughter and I some good information on dressing for our first cruise. After that we still got some good advice from you about other cruises and just enjoyed seeing pictures of your dresses, they were always so beautiful. Well, I hadn't been on here for a couple of years and when I did come back on the only post from you that I saw Drew was really sick and then your mother. Then I saw nothing from you again. I was hoping that nothing tragic had happened to any of your family members. So hopefully everyone is fine and waiting to see more pictures of your dresses and what you recommend to others.

  2. Hi, I've also been a diabetic for 30 years and cruising really can be hassle free. As stated by someone earlier, they will supply you with a sharps container, all you have to do is ask. Someone else mentioned all the food you could eat and most was correct except for the bacon and lunchmeat. Most drs don't like you eating much of it because of the sodium and fat, so ask your dr about that. One thing I have found about cruising is how they are usually so eager to make you happy. So if you would like a specialty cake, such as for an anniversary, they are usually more than happy to make it sugar free. Now I am only speaking of experiance on NCL, as this will be our first cruise on Carnival. I'm really hoping to have the same experience here.

  3. We did a gift exchange on one of our cruises and it was a lot of fun. There was only one drawback. We didn't pick numbers or anything, you just went up and picked a gift. Well, I wasn't with my daughter when she wrapped her gift and I ended up picking it. I'm not sure if anyone believed me that I didn't do it on purpose but it really wasn't intentional. So make sure you have someway you can avoid this if possible. lol

  4. Yes, you really are limited only by if they have openings or not. Obviously some time periods go faster than others. But I figure why take the chance of the time period I want not being available. So if you can book your wedding soon and guarantee your time slot why not go ahead and do it.

  5. I'm not sure, but I would ask if you could be assigned another person. In our case we were told that there is only 1 coodinator on our ship. It does take her a while to return calls, at least a few hours, but if she is the only one there then that is understandable. But so far she has been ok to work with. There was a little confusion at first about what check went to florida for the marriage license but she did get back to my daughter the same day and cleared that up. I can't believe you still don't have everything you need. My daughter received all her papers within a week of booking the wedding.

  6. Girrrrrrrrrlllllllllllllll you have no idea!

I LOVE my wine! Too much......

I've been on a diet and exercising, but I fractured my leg falling over the cat while doing yoga, so I'll be sedentary for a while.

Don't worry, the cat is ok, lucky I love his big furry butt! :p

oh, too bad. I broke my wrist tripping on my cat. Damn animals!!!

  7. Well I have a complaint about Carnival's wedding planners. They are just a little too efficient. As the mother of the bride to be, so far all I've had to do is give them my credit card number to pay for the wedding. Granted, the wedding isn't until Jan, but still... There will really be very little for us to do. My dd and her fiance just need to decide about music and a few other small decisions and that's it. Twe has already put in the order that the wedding cake needs to be gluten free, (which I think is awesome). So for now I'm left twiddling my thumbs until it's time to do invitations and that kind of stuff. (Big Sigh)

  8. You are correct in that twe won't be doing much until closer to the cruise date, but she did need to get the reservation in to hold her spot. Also we don't live in Florida so there is a little more paperwork that needs to be taken care of. Everything else doesn't need to be turned in until about Nov. She really hit it lucky on her dress tho. We needed to kill some time before a chiropractor's appt and there is a David's Bridal shop near there. We went in just to look as she had no idea what kind of a dress she even wanted. We were sitting in the dressing room area while the consultant was gathering a few dresses and my daughter looked up at a dress that was hanging in the room across where we were sitting and went over and looked at it. She asked to try it on. It fit perfectly, right length, which was surprising as she is 5'9", and I cried. lol. She did try on a couple of others but decided on the first one. We said it had to be the one since it was the only one that made me cry. lol. And it was on sale, another bonus!

  9. My daughter is getting married on the Conquest and she was told to make arrangements as soon as possible depending on where you are getting married. She is having an embarkment wedding so needed to already make the arrangements. They can only do 2 - 3 at that time. She was told there was already 1 booked, So she booked last week even though we're not sailing until Jan 2017.

  10. Kanitter~ These are very nice. My size 5 1/2 - 6 feet would have room to spare though.

Yea, I don't think those would work for you. They're actually too big for me also but at the time I was having a problem with swollen legs and feet and I also weighed almost 150lbs more than I do now. I learned something new, you do lose weight in your feet when you lose a lot of weight. :D

  11. I know you guys normally swap dresses but I have 2 pairs of really nice heels that I am trying to find a home for. They both are a size 9, one black the other silver. The black ones have a 3 1/2" heel and the silver ones are about 2 1/2". I've worn the black ones once and the silver ones twice so they are not worn out or anything. I was in a hurry when I bought them but really never liked them. Dumb huh. :o But anyway, if anyone is interested just give me a shout. kanitter1 at aol.com

  12. I ordered 3 pieces of luggage from a company. They all shipped the same day and time via FedEx. Two arrived Tuesday. The third arrived today via USPS from FedEx. How did that work?

The usps and fedex have an agreement between themselves. I've gotten quite a few things that were supposed to be coming by fedex and showed up by usps instead so I finally asked them how and why? The lady at the post office is the one who told me about their agreement.

  13. On our last cruise we traveled with a plastic penquin and a plastic california raisin. They were only a few inches tall and both fit on a stick. We took pictures with them all over the ship. Did they have a purpose? Yes, the penquin was for my father since we couldn't talk him into going on the cruise with us and the california raisin was for my m-i-l because she collects them and loves goofy pictures. It was fun and didn't hurt anyone. But no, I don't think I'll be doing it again. Almost lost one of the little buggers overboard one timel.

  14. We picked up these little gizmos that you put on the handle of your suitcase. They look like a flattened padlock but with a plastic cord. There is a second piece that you keep with you. When you push the button on the part you keep a blue light starts flashing on the part on your suitcase and it also starts making a slight beeping sound. It reminds me of different things you can buy to help you find your car keys and stuff. We made sure they are approved by tsa first because I didn't want them to think it was some kind of device that was dangerous and end up in jail. That would be my luck. ;)

  15. Hi all, I have a soft pink dressy skirt and top that needs a new home. I bought this outfit for a banquet that was given in my dh's and 3 other drivers honor. I've worn it once. But since buying the outfit I've lost 132 lbs and the outfit no longer fits. (yea! :D:D). It is a size 18 womens, but it seemed to run a bit large. I'm 5'2" and it came almost to my ankles. I had to roll the waist band twice to look right. :o . It really is a beautiful outfit and I would love to see someone get some use out of it. If anyone is interested just send me an email. Everyone have a good one,

    Sue
