  1. One time on Princess we booked a guarantee cabin and loved our cabin assignment. Then it changed. And changed again. And three or four days before sailing it changed yet again… to a glorious balcony on the starboard side midship. We had thrown our hands up at that point… but it turned out great. BTW, that was the Caribbean Princess out of NYC after Hurricane Sandy. I’ll cross my fingers that you end up with something just as awesome.

  2. We had 90% the same experience… the exception being that in the second cruise we used the FCC on something happened - I don’t recall exactly what - maybe a bad leak in the cabin - and it resulted in a very nice third FCC that paid for about 75% of yet another cruise… fun times.

  3. It's been confirmed... (check your email)

    Sunday- Nassau

    Monday- Sea Day

    Tuesday- Falmouth

    Wednesday- Grand Turk

    Thursday- Sea Day

    Friday- Great Stirrup Cay

    Saturday back to Canaveral

    This is inaccurate.

The email has arrived from NCL and shows:

    Sat - Port Canaveral

    Sun - Nassau, Bahamas

    Mon- At Sea

    Tues - Falmouth, Jamaica

Wed - George Town, Grand Cayman

    Thur - At Sea

    Fri - Great Stirrup Cay

According to the email this will be the schedule for the former Eastern Caribbean itineraries through the end of Feb 2018, at least.

  4. I see they have bowling on the Epic. The Bliss has it and so does osheehans. How much does it cost per game at each place? Also I see they have a special adults time at Bliss with neon bowling. How much does that cost? If anyone knows the times they are open that would be great to. Thank you for you help;)

Yep, $7/game the last two October transatlantic cruises we’ve been on. Booked on the TA this year, too. Bowling is hilarious on a moving ship. Try it!

For reference, here’s a couple pics of the bowling alley behind O’Sheehan’s.

  5. Quick question. I have booked an inside cabin for a cruise on Epic next February. Would I be offered the chance to bid to upgrade. from inside to balcony or spa balcony? Is there any way to find out?

    Thanks

If it’s a Studio cabin, no. Those are not eligible. If it’s a standard inside, certainly eligible.

Our upcoming TA on the Epic we were accepted to move from ID to BA - inside aft to mid-ship balcony.

We were offered to bid on Balcony and Mini Suite. We bid on both, balcony was accepted 66 days before sailing.

  6. Soo, future cruise credits.... anyone have experience with them or know how they work? Do you get a future credit valued at 50% of what you paid for the cancelled cruise or is it more like a 50% discount on the value of a future cruise? I'm guessing it's based on what was paid for the cancelled cruise but either way I'm not complaining.

For me this was just a quick weekend getaway with friends on a local booze cruise. I was even planning on working until the last minute on Friday before the cruise and then Monday morning when I got back. I'm actually happy they cancelled the cruise since I was worried about being away from home during a potential hurricane. Anything NCL gives me is greatly appreciated.

This happened to us on Princess, because of Hurricane Sandy.

Assuming the same theory is true across lines, we were issued a letter to authorize the credit, and it was for 50% of the cruise fare - not 50% of what we paid. We had the letter within a few days, and our travel agent could see the credit on our Princess Captain’s Circle Account when we called her to inquire.

What I mean by that is, for example, the cruise fare may be $400 and the taxes/fees may be $150 - just as examples. In this case the credit would be $200, which is 50% of the fare, not $275, which is 50% of the total paid.

If I were betting and planning, I’d only bet and plan on 50% if the actual fare that was paid, not the total paid.

Then again, NCL could do this entirely differently. :-)

  7. Last Oct, Epic also had one in arcade (15 aft); however, the one on the back wall of the gym was no longer stocked while another one appeared in the area just before the gym (where desk, scales are) but only water. No diet Pepsi in the arcade.

  8. Hi all

Next week we will be aboard EPIC, last year we were at SPIRIT and I can't remember if it was allowed to wear short pants at the MDR at night...

Could you please tell me how it works on EPIC?

    Thanks!

I went on my first NCL cruise on the Epic in April 2015. I had no idea what to expect on the Miami to Barcelona transatlantic. I was delighted/relieved/overjoyed to discover the completely casual approach onboard. And I fell in love with it.

I took another NCL Epic transatlantic cruise in the fall of 2016 - Barcelona to Port Canaveral. I loved it even more the second time.

I'm going to be onboard the Epic for 27 nights starting October 29 this year (B2B2B). The casual approach - and yes, shorts in most dining rooms - is one of the things I like the most. I look forward to not having to get dressed up for dinner.

Pack your shorts. Wear them. And enjoy yourself. You deserve it!

  9. I know that NCL only opens up a certain amount(30-40%) of Reservations at Specialty Dining in advance.

I am wondering what the thought process is in doing this.

Would it not be better for NCL and the restaurant to allow all the reservations to be mad available in advance? If a restaurant has 25 reservations available, why allow only 10 to be made in advance?Wouldn't the restaurant rather know in advance whether it will have a full house?

AS it is now,Should I be unable to get one of the online reservations. I have to wander around on embarkation, to the restaurant to see if I can get one of the held back reservations, It would be easier and simpler if I could have made it in advance. Anyone understand NCL's thinking?

No need to wander around. Use a kiosk on the ship or the iConcierge app once onboard (sometimes even in the terminal you can connect).

I'd guess they do this to aid passengers that like to plan, though doing it onboard works, there may be slightly less availability. Because of this it does come in handy to be open to other days/times if you've waited until you're onboard to book.

    Just my $.02.
