  1. On board Crown Princess and for the first week the app seemed to work pretty well. Then we found that if you were using the app, went to do something else on the phone (a Samsung using Android all up to date) the app went to a black screen and the only way back was to close the app and then re-open it.

Went to see the Ocean Force techies and they've never seen this fault before, have no idea how to fix it and 4 days later have still had no response from the app developers!

Up until this happened we were pleasantly surprised with how well the app worked for us.

  2. Having read so many awful reviews oc the app and the comments on this thread, I reluctantly downloaded the app yesterday as it's just under 2 weeks until we board Crown Princess.

I had already completed all our details via Cruise Personaliser and much to my pleasant surprise, logged in to the app and all our details were there.

Managed to make some dining reservations and so far the app appears to be working correctly.

Hopefully that will still be the same once on board. 🤞

  3. Apologies in advance for not reading the previous 146 pages but is the medallion App really as bad as all the reviews on Google Play show. I've never been prepared to load an app that has an average of 1.4 (out of 5) from previous reviewers.

So many state that A) it doesn't work and B) it's very memory intensive

Is it essential to have and use the App both prior to boarding and when on board?

Whilst we are Elite with Princess our last cruise with them was pre Medallion in 2016.

Got a few months to sort this as it's February 2023 before we sail.

  4. So enjoying travelling with you Sharon but will enjoy it so much more when we're really with you next May as by then you'll know all the best places on board and all the great things to do.

Shame you didn't go in to Alnwick Castle as the gardens there are fantastic but that's a full day trip on it's own.

    Hi Prefdavid,

Your AzAmazing Evening will be in Manila on 10/12/19.

I’ll see when this will be posted in your shorex and available to book.

Would you do me the favor of letting your Roll Call know? Thanks!

    Bonnie

I will certainly put this on the roll call Bonnie. However in the last day or so, a fellow passenger has posted an email from Az stating that there will NOT be an Azamazing evening ashore on this cruise but something will be arranged on board, no date given of this?? Can you advise further please. There's still nothing showing on Shore Excursions within the Voyage Planner.

I have looked in my Cruise Planner and see the advertised Sale. But I cannot see how to purchase the upgrade Classic to Premium. I only have an option to purchase the full Premium package for £1,000+. I already have the Classic. Is there a link for the upgrade?

Indeed there is. Into Manage My Reservation and click on the Beverage Packages. If the upgrade is available to you it will show there.

  7. Already the debate continues and someone on a certain social media site has stated that there will be a 15% compulsory service charge added on all purchases on board so if we're hoping the debating will end soon, then I doubt it.

However unless P&O confirm that comment to be true, I think we should just assume that there's at least one person who likes to get their big wooden spoon out and stir up trouble.

Now how do I turn off comments on this? ;p

  8. Considering it but felt the prices were ridiculously high as it's only 99 nights and similar cost to two years ago which was, I believe 15 nights more. Also been advised that the Pacific ports are at best disappointing.

However if nearer departure date we see a significant reduced price and by that time haven't got anything else sorted, then we might decide to book.

  9. Agree that the sound mix quality is often very poor on the ships but it's a feeble excuse to say that the sound is set from Soton. Unless there's been some phenomenal change in mixing decks recently I don't know of any that have remote management capability. The mix is down to the onboard Sound engineer and they need to get out of their booth and get into the theatre when the show is on so they can actually hear what the passengers hear. Setting up in an empty room during soundchecks isn't the same and if they've been properly trained they should know this.
