My cruise is coming up soon.  From what I've read, there is nothing iin Le Verdon at the berth, but often the cruise lines have arranged a shuttle going to Soulac sur Mer (free or paid).  From there, you can go to the tourist info center to inquire about tours, although I don't know if they include long tours which go to Bordeaux.  You can also hire a taxi in Soulac.  Or you can just visit the city and/or beach.  On our cruise, excursions are being offered for our stop in Le Verdon which include  a visit to a winery.  At around 4, when the ship is expected to be tied up in Bordeaux, you're taken to the ship. But for those people wishing to take non-ship tours, I don't know what their options are.  You might want to google the Soulac tourist information center and ask about tours outside Soulac.

so what are you doing? are you doing a ship excursion or going on your own?

I had created a whole thread dedicated to our day there in Le Verdon, with maps and info on the shuttles that were available as well as the private tour we ended up doing. But it looks like CC deleted it since then as I can no longer find it.

We booked a private tour with this young woman. Had a great day, she picked us up from the port and took us to 3 different vineyards. It was only ourselves and another couple in the van, perfect day.

If you’re not on a budget look at the St Martin’s Lane Hotel or Ham Yard Hotel. Both quite hip and boutique but not cheap.

    i saw the resident soho

    thistle piccadilly

    the clermont

    and st martins

all caught my eye unless there are better ones in the $400 range

    and .........................

    In London pre-cruise? Or post-cruise?

How many days do you plan to be in London?

Will you be arriving at Heathrow? Gatwick? From Southampton? Or Dover?

Are you sailing from Southampton? Dover? And back to the same port?

Size of your party and any mobility issues is also useful to know.

London is a big city, and difficult or expensive to get around with luggage (but real easy & cheap without luggage)

The best or cheapest way to travel between central London and its airports and the sea-ports depends on which airport & which sea-port, therefore which neighbourhood is best for your hotel.

The more detail you can give, the more useful the replies.

Yes we are going pre cruise for 2 days  and it is out of Southampton one way cruise to Barcelona. We are 2 very mobile and young. Don't know what area to stay plan on getting private transportation to Southampton for cruise. So looking for the best area with nice hotels.

We were just there in March and snorkeled on all three. We would rank them:

    1) Bora Bora

    2) Raiatea

    3) Moorea

Our best snorkeling and best excursion overall was with H2O Bora Bora. Best snorkeling, best tour guide/host, best boat, and best day of the trip. https://boraborah2o.com/

We owe a world of thanks to Petoonya who gave great guidance and I'm sure she will add some more thoughts, based on her extensive FP snorkeling experience.

we are booked with them in november. friends of ours used them on there used them on their  honeymoon. we booked them for an all day excursion with scuba and snorkeling can not wait.

We are booked out of Boston and flying to Athens via Rome.  We are on ITA.  We have about a 2 hour layover in Rome.  Our flight home is nonstop on Delta.  We paid for seats on ITA and were able to book seats for free on Delta.  We deviated 2 days before the cruise.  We don't leave until the end of the month.  So far, we have been happy with the flights.

so let me ask you this you are deviating 2 days before your cruise when do they have you arriving at your final location 2 days early. just wondering we have one coming up and are waiting on flights still.

With the pool being the only thing out of acess at this awesome resort, it was really no problem as the beach was absolutely beautiful with easy access in and out of the water. They also had some water toys ( for rent) we thought it was worth the cost of a beach day.

i think we figured out a solution we booked a room at a resort and it came in at $20 more than the excursion from the ship. was there areas near the ship for shopping or is there another place?

We ate in Le Bistro tonight.  Excellent service and food.

There are only four speciality restaurants on the Spirit: Le Bistro, Cagneys, Onda, and Teppenyaki. Latitudes vouchers are valid in all except Teppenyaki.

We had a couple of reasons to call Guest Services today and they are now answering the phones! And quickly. The TV got fixed, after I reported it for the third time on day three. Another ongoing problem we had got resolved today as well.

We booked a tour for Moorea, one of the few available, using the app.  For the first time ever, the price charged to our account was automatically adjusted to include the Diamond discount.  Even the Encore and Bliss can't manage that yet, they have a manual process at the end of the cruise to adjust.  Great to see after all these years we don't have to visit or call the shorex desk to get the discount applied!

Do they have a local restaurant on the ship?
