Thank you Mr Rumor for sharing your experiences. I love when you travel and share. Where are you going next? We are lucky to be boarding on the 25th also. Safe travels.

You can ask for a scale. We have always received one, just ask.

We are joining you all today. Odd, my sister’s luggage was left behind in Toronto. It arrived the next day thankfully. Heading to the ship now.

I love when you travel Mr Rumor. I always want to pack up and follow you. My sister and I will be in Copenhagen for 3 nights before our aug 1 Copenhagen to Amsterdam on the Navigator so I will be taking notes!

Thank you all so much - really helpful! We've booked our excursions now - with a focus on hiking and boats! Does anyone have any experience of the Ocean rafting trip in Sitka? We have spotted we can actually do that in the afternoon as well as a morning trip. Or would that be too much?
I'd almost decided on the train option for the transfer but then read the one-way car rental suggestion. I quite like the flexibility associated with that but haven't been able to find companies that do it. Does anyone know any companies we can try? I've looked at our usual ones and only found Hertz but they're quoting over $350 for one day!! So if that's the case, it's definitely the train!
The Ocean Rafting trip is quite fun. It is like the description. The raft travels quite fast and yes it is bumpy! The volcanic island is home to many sea birds. I often think back on how much I enjoyed that excursion. Karen

Roberto, your descriptions are amazing. Sounds like you and Pam are having a great time. I have cruised to Alaska 4 times and now I want to go again!! Enjoy

I too enjoyed the Rome to Miami crossing. About the Alhambra tour, it is listed on the Regent website as a 2 walker tour. I have a knee problem so I am a little slow till I get a new one. I figured I could do a two walker tour. Once on board I read the paperwork and saw my 2 walker tour was changed to a 3 walker. I cancelled and received a refund. Perhaps the updated info was not seen. But I do wonder why, today, it is still listed as a 2 walker.

I was also told travel guard was not available. I will also look into it for my next cruise.

I would also be interested in hearing. My upcoming TA on the Explorer I have used Manulife for the trip and will buy additional insurance for medical from my credit card. It was much easier when we could use Travelguard.

We're getting close - only 355 more nights to go! :D
That is too funny! I will be chuckling for a while.

a bit off the subject, but of concern for us. Our cabin appears to be across from the laundry for our cruise. Is this a noisy area? We booked a Penthouse Suite and it is on deck 8 on the Voyager.
thank you
JB
On my last cruise our Penthouse suite was right across from the laundry and I had the same concerns. We had no problems and found the location helpful for keeping tabs on the vacancy of machines.

My daughter got married on the Reflection Feb 2014. She had around 50 friends and family sail with her. She was married the first sea day. We had a lovely dinner in the Tuscan Grille. All went well.

Check out this place. http://www.hotelantichefigure.it. It is within walking distance of the people mover. Plus the airport bus stops at the Piazzale Roma, also a short walk. The hotel is quite nice, great staff. Can't wait to go back one day

I was on the Reflection last month, when my luggage didn't show up the cabin attendant found it in the 'naughty room' I has a steamer but they said it was ok, they just didn't allow irons.

We were on the Dec 7 sailing. We paid for the earlybird check in on Southwest and were B 7 and 8. That surprised me. They said it was normal for days the ships return. We walked off with our luggage and a prearranged shuttle had us at the airport at 8am. Enjoy your cruise.

I have asked our travel agent where the Splendor will dock on Nov 20 and she has told me 3 times Regent has not assigned where the ship will dock. Last update was today.
