  1. We will be at Amber Cove Monday February 4th 2019 as a port of call during our Carnival Sensation cruise.

I’m seeking fellow YouTubers / vloggers / content creators to include in the films I am creating during this stop.  I’ll also put a link to their YouTube channel in my videos description. This is just a fun way for me to help other YouTubers.

For a tour,  we are going on the Outback Adventrue Terra-cross tour, booked through Carnival Cruise Line. This will leave us a few hours at the port before the ship leaves to film, shop, maybe take a dip in the pool.

If you or someone in your party is a YouTuber, please feel free to reply, message me here or through Facebook Messenger.

For reference only, here is a vidoe I made about our last trip to the Dominican Republic.   It’s almost all B-roll.

  2. JANUARY 03, 2018 05:47 PM

Flies in the food preparation areas. Milk, cheese, eggs and yogurt kept in too-hot temperatures. Soiled and clogged machinery.

These were some of the conditions uncovered by two inspectors from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention during a routine November inspection of the Carnival Triumph.

  3. I'm not sure of the OP's answer, only sharing what happened to us late June 2016 Carnival Fantasy / port of Miami.

Following the early departure self-assist instructions I received in my stateroom the night before departure, I got our group of four heading to the show lounge for self-assist early departure. Two members of our group were first time cruisers. I got to the show lounge entrance to see many people had arrived to the show lounge before us.

One member of our party asked why we don't just walk off the ship like other people were doing. I asked "What other people?" He said people were just walking off back by the guest services desk.

We walked back to the guest services desk area and joined a short line of people then debarked. We were off the ship and through customs at 8:19AM then in a Uber taxi at 8:29AM and on our way to the airport.

I was confused how we go off the ship so early.

  4. We were on the Triumph earlier this year. My kids shot some video and set it on their band's (Breaking Silence) cover of Cake By The Ocean. I thought you might enjoy it.

First things first. Yes, I enjoyed it. Fun video. Mixing a live performance with the cruise was awesome. Kudos!

Now, onto something else. I listened to YOLO, the other song on the band's YouTube channel and I LOVE it! I mean I got a tear in my eye. Like WOW! I see its on iTunes. I will be downloading it.

Any chance I can get permission to use YOLO in a future video with credit to the band in the video description? Is Breaking Silence listed on any filmmakers music sharing website like SoundCloud?

  5. Just a bit of back ground. Videography is my hobby. I'm a amature.

I had someone cut down one of my videos. The criticism got to me. I took the comment personal. The comment was personal. I deleted the video and stopped making videos for a couple of years.

Still, I wanted to enjoy my hobby. I read articles, purchased more camera equipment, then searched YouTube for videos that would help me become a better videographer. Then one YouTube video changed my approach. It was by the "Basic Filmaker" where the title said he will share the #1 mistake filmmakers make. I clicked on the video hoping to learn a new technique, a new skill, a TIP, or a new piece of equipment. It turns out I was making the #1 mistake. So what was it? Not making it. That's it. Rather underwhelming, but it's the mistake I was making.

Since then I noticed something. Those people that post negative comments on amature / hobbiest videos are making that #1 mistake too. They cut down other people's content but they are not making their own videos for other people to cut down.

So, here is my cruise video. I put a lot of time into making it. I had fun making it. It's full of things I could have done better. Enjoy it. Don't enjoy it. Like it. Don't like it. Share it. Don't share it. Add a supportive comment or a critical comment. I made it. And my next video will be even better.

  6.

let me know if this looks fun

Thank you for sharing your video about your groups first time cruising experience. Yes, it look fun.

In addition to this video, I looked through a few of your other videos on your YouTube channel and found them to be well producted, edited, informative, and entertaining. I had a enjoyable viewing experience.

I caught a glimpse of your videography gear in the mirror of the outlet strip video. My complements to your camera person for investing in professional videography equipment.

I enjoyed your video and wish your YouTube channel success.

I'm a amature / hobbyist videographer. Media is captured on my iPhone. Accessories include a Olloclcip Lense, Rode VideoMic Me shotgun microphone, Joby Gorillapod tripod, and external battery. Editing is done on the phone with the free iMovie app. This amature setup serves my hobbyist videography production needs well.

Here is a link to my June 2016 Carnival Fantasy cruise video. It lacks the narration and educational value of your video, it's just a fun video. Enjoy!

    Best wishes on your success.

  7. A quick question, did you not get off, or just didn't take any video on HMC? Just curious, love the video..

It was nice seeing my old friend Fantasy again. Taken 8 cruises on her, she just gets better and better.

Thank you for your positive feedback on my video. :)

At Half Moon Cay (HMC) they started tendering passengers to shore but then paused the process and eventually cancelled the process. Guests that made it to shore were returned to the ship then we got a bonus day at sea. The reason given for this was wind. In my opinion, within a hour of leaving HMC the wind died and seas calmed. The weather did the same weather pattern every day, windy night / early morning then calm, sunny day, as you can see in the time lapse early morning portions of my video. To me, it was a head scratcher why the ships officers could not foresee this weather pattern. We could have enjoyed a awesome day on HMC cut short by about 2 hours. Oh well, we still had a great time onboard the ship.

About the ship, she's a grand old gal. I saw a video that she received a refresh about March of 2016.

Someone told me they could not view the above link to my video. So here it is again on YouTube.

Please enjoy my amateur vacation video of our June 2016 Carnival Fantasy 4 day Bahama cruise.

  8. Maybe what you got was a chai tea.....it's very different from chai latte. My husband found this out to his dismay!

Sometimes when you order, the worker doesn't understand what you ask for, or they are not paying attention and assume you mean tea. Who knows?

Thank you. It's reassuring to know we were not the only one.

PS: the video player above is not working for me. Here is a direct link

  9. I am cruising in Oct. on the Carnival Fantasy out of Miami. My husband & I are planning to do self assist disembarkation in Miami. Looking at flights, there is one at 12:45 out of FLL. Is that too early? I have only disembarked in Miami one time and did not do self assist, so I'm hoping some people that have recently disembarked in Miami on a Friday AM may be able to tell me how bad customs were. TIA!

Well, we were on a 4 day Carnival Fantisy cruise out of Miami with a Friday end date and 10:30AM flight out of FLL last month, June 2016.

Late Thursday evening, onboard the ship, I paid $5 for limited onboard computer access for one reason, to check-in and print our boarding passes. I used the computers next to the service desk onboard the ship. Printing was no extra fee and I was able to check-in for all four people in our party.

We did self-assist and are very light packers, just a carry-on. We left our room heading to the show lounge when one member of our party noticed people were just walking off. We joined them and got off the ship and to the customs line at 8:19AM. We were in a Uber-x taxi by 8:30AM. The Uber ride for 4 people from the ship to FLL was $31.03 total (not each), 26.24 miles, 31.32 minutes, and I gave him a $5 tip. Yes, I tip Uber drivers. Note: traffic was at a standstill in the opposite direction we were traveling. Our driver, a retired Germain engineer, was a fast driver. You may or may not be comfortable with that. I'm good with it.

We got to the airport at 9:02AM, and through security at the airport by 9:10 and to our gate at 9:15AM only to discover our fight had a 2 hour delay. :)

Side note, my Google alert knew about the flight delay befor the workers at the gate.

I can not tell you what to do, only what we did. I travel often and am use to cutting it close, using Uber, packing light, running through airport terminals, etc. But then again, I take it in stride when I miss flights and that does happen to me sometimes.

Here is a video of our cruise. Enjoy!

  10. Just sharing our personal experience...

We purchased a Chai Latte onboard the Canival Fantisy at their coffee shop. It was not to our taste. It had a tea bag in it.

The Carnival worker did say it was a real Chi Latte. To me, it tasted like regular tea with some milk. Perhaps that is what real Chi Latte is, but that's not what we have received from Starbucks and not what we wanted.

We enjoy Chai Latte from Starucks, our Keurig K-cup machine at home and most coffee places in North America.

The employee was friendly and did give us a refund. :)

My TIP: If you like American style Chi Latte like you get at Starbucks you may want to bring some k-cus form home and make your own with the hot water at the lido Buffett.

Here is a video I made of our cruise. Enjoy!

  11. Just sharing my Carnival Cruise video from the Carnival Fantasy to Nassau and Half Moon Cay (missed due to wind) June 20-24 2016.

I created this video on a iPhone6S including capturing photos, videos, and editing on the iPhone with the free app iMovie.

  12. Private and Free Tea party for the little princess and princesses at heart

Palo’s has Lunch, Dinner and a afternoon tea, all adults only.

But what about your little princess? She wants to have a tea party also!

Disney has this covered but you need to get to the guest service counter early your first day. The name of this keeps changing. It’s been the Tea with Wendy Darling, story time with Bell, and tea with Alice and The Mad Hatter.

Just get to the guest service counter and tell them you want tickets for the princess tea party. It’s free but you must have a ticket and it’s a small event so the tickets go fast.

It’s mostly a mother / daughter thing but that’s not a rule. Some Mothers / son’s, some fathers / daughters, some families.

It’s held on a sea day.

    Bring your camera!

(note – I don’t know if this is offered on cruises shorter then 7 days)

  13. Palo’s secret…

The best times will book well before you ever board the ship. It may book completely before the ship’s horn toots “When you wish upon a star.”

To get a reservation on the date and time that works best for you I recommend you book your dinner in advance online.

This alternative adult only restaurant is simply in demand.

There is an additional fee of $15 per guest to dine at Palo’s.

You can make your reservation online by setting up a free account at http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/

#1) Your cruise must be paid in full to make the reservation.

#2) When you can make your reservation:

105 days prior to departure for Concierge Level Guests

90 days prior to departure for Castaway Club Members

75 days prior to departure for First-time Cruiser

#3) You will need your DISNEY confirmation number. If you booked thru a travel agent, you may need to have them give this to you. Your Disney confirmation number may be different then your agents confirmation number.
