  1. Hi,

I'm wondering if you still get 12 drink vouchers per person with the fantastica experience? And if yes, is it the same for europeans? I know that when I was active on these boards almost a year ago there was some confusion to whether everyone got the vouchers or just the american made bookings.

  2. The Deck 8 buffet in the evenings you have to sit and be served like the dining rooms

How does that work in a buffet? Isn't it a buffet at all during evening? Or is it just the drinks that you get served?

  3. I would have to agree, but hey we are on a cruise. How much tv do we really need to watch. We are in an aft cabin on the January 6th sailing. We are paying for the novelty of the “South Beach Condo” experience.

And by that I assume you mean the balcony? :) Same here, but still, it wouldn't have hurt if the cabin really felt like a suite. But I don't regret booking it either :)

  4. More 9225.

I was just looking for any new aft aurea suite pictures again, didnt really find anything but as I viewed these pictures again I have to say.... that must be the smallest TV on the entire ship. And on top of that, it's really badly placed. It's definitly wrong to call this a suite in my opinion.

  5. I'm considering upgrading from classic drink packages to the deluxe one. Will we be able able to dine together with my parents in law if they have the classic package?

I know that they need to sign for a package as we have the classic one atm, but haven't seen the answer to this question. Thanks :)

  6. The $6 Bombay Sapphire doesn't have an asterisk but the $6.50 Bombay Sapphire does, go figure.................

I tried looking for an example of this in the posted menues, but I couldn't find any. In which menues have you seen this?

  7. Hi there. I've just heard from MSC's PR department in the U.S. regarding Venchi inclusions:

"Venchi gelato is included in the beverage packages. Venchi coffee, up to a value of $7.50, is included in the classic drink package. The premium package includes all Venchi coffee drinks. Retail items are not included in the beverage packages."

Thank you!!! This will make my kids soooo happy and that means I will be happy :D :D

  8. If you have the classic drink package the beers, wine and spirits without an asterisk are included. In general, it's up to about 6.00. If there is one asterisk, then you need the deluxe package. If it has two asterisks, it's a super premium spirit or wine and not included in any package. The only confusing thing at this point is the Welcome Bar menu that was posted back on page one, post # 4. These drinks are primarily 9.00, made with premium one asterisked spirits, but do not have an asterisk next to them.

This will just add to the confusion.

Thank you, I knew about the asterisks but I couldn't understand how that worked together with max prices per drink and different drink prices. But if I understand correctly I won't have to worry about it as a drink may cost $6 in one bar and $6.50 in another but both will have no asterisks and will therefor be included in the classic drink package?

  9. Yes I do, I will just pay as I go for any of the "fancy" drinks and use my drink coupons for my G&T's and wine. Bombay Sapphire is $6.00 at the Atrium Bar but $6.50 at the Casino Bar. Guess I know where I will be going for my G&T's.

So what's included in the drink packages are based on the price of the drink... And the drink prices are different depending on what bar you are in?

  10. Where did you find that the Venchi offerings are not included in the all inclusive packages? Not that I'm surprised just hadn't read that.

Just something other posters have said in other threads. Don't have a quote for you right now :(

  11. Seaside Bar (atrium bar)

Have Smoothies and Milkshakes always been included in the classic package? I've always thought that this was for the deluxe package. Also... if the Venchi venues are franchise venues where the all inclusive packages aren't useable... where do you go to get milkshakes, smoothies and ice-cream?

  12. Why won’t your children be able to have gelato? We just did Aurea 3 weeks ago and my grandson could have gelato or milkshakes when he wanted.

I hope that what I've been told are wrong, could just be a case of bad information from MSC as usual. But basically I was told by MSC Sweden in August (https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2527828) that there were 3 types of All-Inclusive drink packages. One for Adults, one for children aged 12-21 and one for children 3-11. The one for children 3-11 was a very limited version where Ice-cream wasn't included. As I was booking Aurea I asked about this and was told that the children would indeed get the age 3-11 drink package, and "sorry no, ice-cream doesnt seem to be included". At this point noone here on these forums had heard anything about these age limited packages. But that changed when changes to the drink packages was announced for the US market as well, you can read about this here:

    https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=53976567&postcount=58

Notice that "Thirst-quenching experience for our youngest guests! Unlimited sodas, mineral water and fruit juices." is the only thing listed for age 3-11.

Last you can view this recent bar photo from ashley@cruisecritic

    https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=54743589&postcount=10

Check the second photo, confirms the "Soft Drink all-inclusive package" for children age 3-11.

I very much hope that I'm wrong and that it won't be a problem on the ship. I can't see that they can stop parents from ordering ice-cream for the children when they are free to order it for themselves.

  13. DS99 - Look at the Aft Suite balcony photo of MSC Seaside in this article and link. You are right about decks 9 and 13.

Very nice picture! Now I just wonder if I should be happy that it's less intrusive on deck 14 or sad because there will be maintenance staff using our balcony regularly. Depends on the interval I guess.

  14. Here is another great video.

    MSC Seaside: Triest - Barcelona

He also shows four different cabins in the video. An Aft Suite, Suite with Jacuzzi in slanted balcony, regular balcony cabin, and an Inside cabin I think.

Interesting with the aft suite balcony! You can clearly see that it has an entrance to the window cleaner construction. I wonder if this is deck 14 or 15.

  15. Gert ... Those cabins are S2 Fantastica Balcony Suite not S3, I believe we have a mutual friend in Scotland .. :)

ljs123 ... So far no sign of any photos of those Two cabins.

For anyone who has booked an Aft Suite, be aware that you will have the Balcony Glass cleaner for company!

The wheel structures are the worst part imo. Not so visible in this picture, but I've previously observed that they seem to be located at deck 13 and ofcourse the bottom deck (9?). I've booked at deck 14 and I'd been very annoyed with having those structures right in my view, it's not like they showed them in any renderings after all.
