My husband and I just returned from our Mediterranean Cruise on the Celebrity Solstice where we toured Rome with Rome In Limo (RIL). Since the Cruise Critic boards were so helpful to our cruise planning, I wanted to write a short note about our positive experience in the hope that others will find it helpful. Rome was my husband's favorite port and much credit goes to our RIL guide Mauro. We learned so much from him and feel we really maximized our day in Rome. We did all the other ports on our own but we were nervous about trying Rome on our own as it was so far from the port (Civitavecchia). I feel we got a great value with this tour (we were part of an 8 person tour group so the cost of the tour was split among 4 couples) and I do not think we could have seen so much in Rome without the expert guidance this tour provided. Mauro was fun, knowledgeable, and great at navigating the city. We were really impressed at how close he could get us to the various sights and it was amazing how many things we were able to see in just one day. If you're thinking about RIL, my vote is YES.
