  1. Thanks for the correction!  I did mean Giurgiu, Romania and I thought Belgrade was the closest.  The question still stands - are we better off staying overnight in Bucharest or Giurgiu given the very early flights - are there places to stay in Bucharest near the airport?

  2. We have just scheduled a June 2021 Danube cruise ending in Giurciu and we are planning our own air travel.  I believe Belgrade had the closest major airport that has flights to Amsterdam (to connect to Detroit) either very early in the morning or early afternoon.  Any words of wisdom as to best to do this?  Should we stay over night in Belgrade and fly out the next day?  We don't want to ruin a wonderful trip at the end.  Also, are there any transports from Giurciu to Belgrade or should we just get a taxi at the port?  Any suggestions would be appreciated!

But at the port in St Lucia how will they know if anyone on the ship has been in a country where yellow fever is endemic? Any passenger could for example be from Brazil or been in Brazil prior to boarding the cruise? We are due to be in St Lucia on 4th November. I am from the UK and will only be flying to Miami prior to our cruise. I really don't want to have to have a yellow fever shot.

  4. I have looked at many deck plans and cannot find the location of the Luminae Restaurant. Last time we were on her, the restaurant did not exist, but I am sure they captured space somewhere and tucked it in!

Any thought as to if it is a positive part of upgrading to a suite on a long (16 night) cruise?

  5. We arrive in Vancouver around 1 in the afternoon. Our plan is to check into our hotel (Hotel Le Soliel), drop off our bags and go to Granville Island - spend a few hours there and then go to an early dinner at the Peaceful Restaurant. How should we best get from one place to another and does this sound like a feasible plan? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

  6. We have a similar problem: 6 of us will be traveling from Seward to Anchorage post cruise. Our flight leaves at 5:45 pm from Anchorage. We'd like to "use up" the time inbetween the disembarkation and arrival at the airport (around 3 pm) with an interesting drive - we would rather not drive ourselves and I know the train is out due to time. Does anyone have any suggestions? A private tour guide/transfer would be perfect!

    Thanks for any suggestions!

  7. We have just made our first reservation on a Seabourn cruise (for October 2011) and in doing some "Cruise Critic" research I noted this discussion re. coupons. Could someone please explain it to me - I had not heard of it or how it works. My e-mail is jrkfrkataoldotcom, if you'd rather communicate thru e-mail. Thanks for any help!

  8. We're just back from the Baltic - did not want to spent 6 hours on the bus to Berlin, so we arranged a tour with "FriendsofDave" tours - he took us to Wisner - a wonderful day, interesting, and he is delightful! Full of information from the very historic, to general interest. We ate good local food and beer! A very excellent option to the trip to Berlin.

  9. We will be in Stockholm on a Saturday and Sunday later this month and have made reservation at the Grand Hotel for the smorgasbord on Sunday at 1 pm (13:00). Our shp leaves port at 5 pm (17:00). How long does it take to have an enjoyable smorgasbord and then return to the ship :D - have we left enough time? Although we have a Stockholm card, it is my understanding that the busses do not run (at all?) on Sunday, and we will have to take a cab - should this be a problem? Would we be wise to plan to see the City Hall that morning - and save Saturday for general site seeing as more will be open? Any insights will be appreciated!
