  1. We were on Freedom last year and my twin grandsons loved the ice rink. Freedom definitely needs some updating.

We are interested in a family of 10 returning to Royal but on a new ship. I have heard good things about Harmony.

Any thoughts? Is a different ship better? We are also dealing with 3 vegans and a severe dairy allergy. I wish the cruise lines were more accommodating

  2. we did trip on Freedom with five kids and five adults. The kids club are very good with getting in touch in case of emergency. They have your stateroom number, they have your cell phone number, and if need; they can call via ship loudspeaker. What we did for our cruise was this. The kids were in different kids programs so the main person in charge had our cell phone and cabin number. Counselors come to dining room and pick kids up after dinner and then you have the night onboard to do whatever. Kids programs close between 10 and 11 pm. We left sticky note pads on all adult cabin doors with a pen. If kids came to cabin or wanted to go somewhere else they would jot a note down and leave the time they were they and where they were headed. Also all kids had cabin phone number and could call the cabin from any phone on the ship. Hope this helps; if you have anymore questions just ask.

Thanks for the help. The kids are too young to go to cabin alone. We were on Disney cruise last year and they have ship phones that are used so everyone can text or call including kids club. Guess we will figure it out. Thanks for the suggestions.

Did you enjoy the cruise? We have never done a ship this big.

  3. Thanks for all the suggestions. We spoke with our travel agent and people at Disney way in advance of our sailing. They did try and accommodate but we were very disappointed with the way they handled all our food needs. Given that they were given advanced notice and explained everything on day one the vegan choices were less than minimal.

  4. We recently returned from a Disney Cruise with (2) six year olds, (1) 3 year old and an 18month old and their parents. Ten people total. We had a wonderful time and Disney was great with a few exceptions. The big negative is the large price tag and the nickel and dimeing of everything.

We would like to cruise again with everyone but wonder if others have found other cruise lines that will accommodate who all love to swim. The 18month old was not allowed in the pool on Disney and the splash area was lame.

    All suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks

  5. I have a 2 1/2 year old that I will be placing in Flounders occasionally. Do they provide any food for this age group or do they need to eat before or after attending Flounders. It mentioned somewhere to bring baby food and formula and bottles. What about regular food?

  6. We are traveling 1/13/17 with two 6 year old boys, 3 year old girl and 18 month old girl. We would like to get off ship but understand that the Atlantis admission is ridiculous. We heard we are better to get an hotel room for the day and be able to visit the Atlantis or just use the beach at the hotel. Any suggestions on what to do? What other hotel options are there that are reasonable for the day? Are we better just to stay on board? thanks for any input.

  7. thanks Mike. great suggestion. I think I may have looked into that in one of my searches, but will revisit it. I can't possibly fly that in economy. It was hard enough flying the other day in exit row from Lax-Cle with a 500 lb smelly man next to me. UGH. I did call Celebrity about flights but the way they were routing us was terrible. They can't do the upgrade to business either. Will keep you posted.
