I would love a warm and sunny Christmas which I hope to do one year too! ;)
I totally agree, do what makes you happy. :)
I hope you get your sunny Christmas. In Australia we have lots of seafood and salads on Christmas day and usually go to the beach. I would love to have a nice hot Christmas lunch, would be so nice.

I think you should do what makes you happy. I am the opposite I would love to have a cold and snowy Christmas, which I will do one year.

It was ~different~ for sure. Our discussions were candid and to the point, at times TOO much candidness and to the point. One of the "gentlemen" was a genuine misanthrope who explained why he disliked me just about every night and tried to embarrass me.
Of course that just made me enjoy getting under his skin that much more. :D
There was also a medical doctor the table who reassured me that this misanthropic guy was in bad health and would be dead soon enough.
We had another gent who left after night one (perhaps offended by a taboo topic) , and then another who told us frankly that he had no desire to keep in touch.
Beyond that it went real well :)
Wow I bet you needed a drink after you left that table each night !

How about being the only one who spoke English as a first language ? That happened ONE night out of San Juan when I was placed at a table with Spanish speakers. I've been the odd "man" out on occasions...the only male at a table.
You are correct...it is far better to see the world as a solo than to sit at home all alone. Plus on a ship, I'm never really alone ;)
Only male at the table  how did that go ?

Extremely scary

Hope you have a great cruise Les :)

What I say is this, Rhapsody just has such a friendly, lovely feel to it. I think it is still in pretty good condition. I also love the fact that the buffet is at the front of the ship which means lots of views. There are so many good points to this ship, my opinion. If you get a good deal go for it. :)

No problems with Australian dollars at all, take smaller notes though :)

Thanks for the positive feedback! Im still practicing conversation starters.
You will be okay. Most people are happy because they are on holidays so are normally pretty friendly. :)

Ha ha I am in the 20 year old kid club too !!

My most awkward time was when Carnival assigned me for a table for 2 and I was seated across from an older lady from England who was looking for love. I had no love interest in her at all. I coudl have gone back to the matre'd and had a reassignment, but kept thinking about how she would feel if I did that, so I stuck it out for the whole cruise. I just shrugged off her forward comments.
Wow how awkward, but what a gentleman you were :)

Hi, deck two is lovely and quiet. The beauty of forward is hardly anyone walks by your cabin, the worst is the movement and noise from the sea. My preference would be deck two or three mid ship, but that's just my opinion only.

I much prefer Rhapsody or Radiance over Voyager. Maybe cost or itinerary may make up your mind. :)

Oh that's not nice to feel like that on land, though I have heard about this happening to others also. I have been on about eight cruises and not had seasickness, but on my last cruise a few weeks ago I definitely experienced it ! and it is not nice. I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to it.
Merry Christmas!
