  1. I was in the Beyond on a Transatlantic and absolutely loved it. Eden (for relaxation and cocktails) was a pleasure. And don’t get me started on how great the Rooftop Garden is! On a cruise of this nature, it was great to be able to sit close to the windows in my cabin during the day and gaze at the sea, opening the window if weather permitted. I loved it so much I booked another Transatlantic E-class cruise next year.
it just shows, everyone’s tastes are different and we should be free to express our opinions on this board without facing denigrating comments.

    Thanks for the clarification.

What would you say is the percentage of people wearing masks on cruise ships these days?

Very few. I was on the Beyond transatlantic and not a lot of masking but a LOT of coughing I wore a mask in the elevator, in the theatre, and when the buffet was especially crowded.

Just elaborating on @SusieAV8R 's list of best practices.  If someone wants to go the mask route with any expectation of actually minimizing exposure, each item is important.

I'd add to that list by noting that the mask must be tightly fitted.  If normal breathing isn't causing the material to flex in and out, it probably has gaps that defeat the purpose.

As for us, we mask nowhere that it isn't required.  So you're preaching to the wrong audience.  Understanding their proper use in order to be effective doesn't imply a belief that masks are always necessary.

No one should be preaching. This is the rhetoric that has no place on a cruise message board where people are looking for information, not judgment.

No one here is being critical of those wearing proper masks like you do.

I am concerned that the anti-mask rhetoric that is common on land will extend to the ship. That would make for a very uncomfortable cruise. I do not tell others what to do and hope for the same courtesy in return.
