This is why many people in Hawaii don't want big ships. Geeze, they use to tender in Lahaina. Only small snorkel vessels should be there!!

As much as we like HAL,I would go with Princess for Glacier Bay.

How lucky Bill and the Mrs. You get to see the Baltic after the Norwegian Fjords. We head to Canada/New England soon on the Volendam.

That’s the fear that caused me to cancel a booked cruise on HAL ($17000)
Can't one look up to see when big groups are on board? This Park West group must have some clout. Well, they do use space, $$$ for their showroom.

We were on the Apex last year. Our first dining room was Normandy at a 2 top. We kept going back about the same time and they sat us same table every night except one night.
-
We are renting a car and driving to Peggy's Cove. Booked through Costco and are paying $168. Not sure if we will visit the cemetery first, so maybe bus tours will have left by then. We are the only ship in port!!

That's why I use my Visa to pay for our cruises because of the insurance. If we took out a policy, then I would buy extra AARP gift cards to pay for the cruise.

Sailed on her in 2018, Alaska. We really like the covered promenade deck and enjoyed our ocean view room. Thinking she was going to go out of service at some point we booked the Canda/New England trip for August 2024. Can't wait.

We were on Celebrity's Apex last year and there was this couple who had a dog in a rolling dog carrier that we saw on several decks. My husband and I had the "I can't believe they brought a dog" conversation.
We were seated in the MDR and a couple was seated next to us. He signaled to us that they were deaf. It was the couple with the dog and it was with them in its little carrier.
Maybe the dog was their ears if needed. So, I try not to judge.

The short answer is, No. Sorry.

We really enjoyed the Apex last April. Would sail on her again. Thanks for the review.

As for the "negative" replies...REALLY??? I wasn't looking for a name and number....I will think twice before I post here again.
Many people are curious, me too. Ignore them. Keep on posting. Tough crowd here.

It’s going to be on ABC World News Tonight as just announced.
It was just a blurb. The tour operator let them down and the cruise line is looking like the bad guy. I would not want to be in their shoes.

These masks are not good. There is a reason that the dive/snorkel shops don't rent them out in Hawaii. Spend $ money to get a good fitting mask for your face shape. When you put on the mask, make sure there is NO hair under any part of the mask. Have fun. We saw much in the Galapagos.

I looked into Gros Morne Park, but most tours give you about 1 hour there and it takes at least 5 hours R/T from the dock. We are doing a ship tour to get out of town.

Yes, that's normal for Hal, so you have a choice, poor service and food on Celebrity or great service and food and marginal entertainment on Hal.
We had great service and good food on Celebrity. Cafe Bianco in the morning the staff was amazing. Yes, Hal is much more laid back.

We have sailed HAL Volendam and Celebrity Millennium to Alaska. I hear that either of these has better food than Princess according to posters here on CC.
-
I like both HAL and Celebrity for different reasons. We always book an ocean view and cruise only rate. We drink very little alcohol but enjoy our latte in the morning. Apex has been the biggest ship for us and I would sail on her again. Up next for us is the Volendam to Canada 2024.

I believe they do. We are on her in 2026. During the booking I asked for a set time of early.
When u book, your TA or Celebrity agent will usually ask.

Some reservations come with a $10 cancellation fee if not done before 24 hours at least on the Equinox.
That is only for specialty dining.

I saw just a small area with the club above and then the casino. I don't go to bed until after 1pm and assume the club would close by 2-3am so assume the noise level will drop??? The casino generally empties out around 1am.
Yes, noise levels should drop. I would think the casino area would be quieter. I was under the shops on the Apex and didn't hear a thing. We crash early.

I always book Oceanview cabins, mid ship. Did you see deck 4? There are many noisy areas above. I always pick my cabin carefully. Good luck.

Good choice, even though I did suggest Princess for your family. If you can sail out of Vancouver, you won't have to stop at Victoria upon returning to Seattle. Have fun planning.
