We booked a cruise this week going to Nassau, San Juan, and St. Thomas leaving on September 18, 2016. I just looked at my dh's passport and it expires on 3/7/2017. We will renew it but am concerned that if I do it before this cruise it may not come back in time. Does anyone have recent experience in renewing passports and how long it is taking? The web site states 6 weeks but not sure how accurate that is. I know I can pay for expedited processing if needed. Just would like an idea of the current time frame.
My other concern is the Bahamas requires that you have at least 6 months left on your passport before it expires. I don't think this applies when on a cruise - not sure but I do know it might be an issue if one of us became ill there and had to stay.
Any help is greatly apprecited

I am trying to see if there are two rooms together on a RCCL cruise and obviously don't know how to see what rooms are available. Is it possible to see available rooms or do I need to continue to hunt or perhaps I should just call them? It is probably just me but find their web site frustrating. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

We have cruised in early June and late July. It was definitely cooler in June but the waterfalls were incredible. Also loved the late July one although that year it was unusually warm. I support all of the advice here really research this cruise. The Alaska board
is a great suggestion also read all the reviews you can. If you can afford the time spend time in the interior of Alaska there is incredible scenery and so much to see and do. The highlight of my first cruise was a helicopter ride to a glacier - a once in a lifetime experience. I did this in Skagway but it was not the only choice.

Loved this tour. If there is one available in the morning I would recommend that one over an afternoon one. I found it can become quite warm in there in the afternoon at least for me.

While this may sound silly be sure to schedule time to just let her watch the ocean, sunsets and sunrises if possible. Those are some of the best memories I have of sailing and could be precious to our Mom especially losing her sight. I wish you both the best cruise ever.

I buy a Christmas ornament from every port. It is such fun to take them all out during the holidays and remember all the fun times while decorating the tree.
