  1. We are staying at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami for $183 taxes in (US). Came to $211 CDN with all taxes and fees.

W are only a $10/10 minute cab ride from the port so we don't need a shuttle.

That's the one I'm looking at. Is there a store within walking distance to buy cases of water for the cruise? And also a place to get a cheap breakfast? I'm used to staying at a hotel that offers free breakfast but thought it would be fun to stay so close to port:D

  2. Ok- sooooo we sailed in the getaway in cabin 16120. It is ABSOLUTELY the perfect location. It's located directly across from the lounge. If you open the cabin door you can see into the lounge and pool area through the glass windows to the lounge. The door to the lounge is in front of it - but because of the configuration of the hallway and lounge you hear zero noise. No one walks down that corridor unless they are going to their room on that side. The opposite side 167xx go through a door to the lounge to get the hallway to their cabin. (Hard to explain but when you are on the ship it will make sense). We loved the location so much we booked it again for our Getaway cruise in October. Have a great time! Take 16120 or 16122, you will be glad you did!

SO happy to hear this! We have 16120 booked for next January and I was second guessing myself. I feel much better now.:D

  3. I am so frustrated! I booked through a TA and called him at 9am this morning. Since then he has been disconnected several times and now has been on hold over an hour and a half. He only works another hour and no one is at the agency tomorrow. I will be SO disappointed if he doesn't get through.

Has anyone who's called NCL asked if they will extend the promo due to all the technical difficulties? If I knew it wasn't one day only I'd just give up and have my TA call Monday. This is ridiculous.

  4. Nope...their ship - their rules. You will have to decide if that's a deal breaker for you and your family.

Definitely not a deal breaker. Just trying to understand the rules and knew the knowledgeable veterans on this board would help :D

(I don't, however, appreciate the judgmental and condescending remarks but had a feeling I would get them with this topic...oh well...as long as I get the answers from the nice posters)

  5. No... you must be 21 to purchase/use a beverage package... even the beer & wine one.

    Hmmm...

The link says: "Also not available for guests under the age of 25 years old on domestic itineraries during blackout dates of March 1 – April 15..."

We will be sailing in January. If we have 2 UBP passes with alcohol and 2 soda only I would think we should be able to choose who uses which one ???

  6. So here's my dilemma...

We just booked a 2 bedroom suite on the Escape with the OBC, UDP and UBP promotion. It's my understanding that 2 people get the alcoholic UBP and 3rd and 4th passengers get soda packages.

I don't drink and would like to give the UBP to my son and take the soda package for myself. He won't be 21 but it's my understanding that we can sign a consent for him to drink as long as we are in international waters.

Is there a way to make him the "2nd" passenger to get the alcoholic UBP?

I would appreciate no judging me please;)

    Thanks for your help!

  7. So I decided to do some follow-up on my own with the NCL World Points department. (same department my cruise rep spoke with yesterday)

Anyway, I spoke with Nikki and after about a 5 min hold time, she came back and confirmed the 2-for-1 promo was in fact ending on 9/30. :(

I realize that call center type reps are often kept in the dark about things until the last minute and some may not go thru the same training at the same time. :p

Still think it's a bummer that they are still putting out advertisements for people to sign up for the 2 for 1 when they know it's going to end.

So if I pay off my Jan 2014 cruise by 9/29 I'll still get double points?
