Not a big loss for us.   We have the Bahamas as a stop on our upcoming November cruise on Summit.  Bahamas is one of two things these days for us...

    • Stay on board and enjoy a quieter day
    • Take a walk around Paradise Lake, where the mega yachts dock.   Some fun boats to see, and if the owners are not on board the crew can be quite chatty.

If it's Celebrity tours only, then is a stay on board day for us.

If Bahamas is a new stop. or a stop you want to do a tour at, we did like the detailed tour of Atlantis, including their Aquarium.    Not sure if that's available as a Celebrity tour, but that was a fun thing we did one of the first couple of times we stopped there.

See you at the Sunset Bar. We are not getting off the ship at any of our 2 port stops.  🙂

  2. I just sent an email to carnival telling them what I have told you here. I ended my email by telling them "I am giving you fair warning that I am searching for a cruise line that will give me the variety that carnival formerly did in entertainment options. I think all of us platinum and diamond passengers who cruise frequently should write to carnival and express our feelings so that maybe they will change these practices. While I may not book their most expensive suite every time I cruise, I cruise on average 4 times per year, as do many others here, and they should value our opinions.

Carnival cares not of your loyalty, they show that on a consistent basis so just move on as others and myself have done.

  3. I am hoping to join you but right now we are on the 1/4 sailing as there is a military rate on that one and it is a lot less than the 1/24 sailing. I can't justify $300 more (and that is for an inside cabin) just to to go Freeport

Disclaimer I am guessing prices on those will change a lot in the future:rolleyes:

This will be our first cruise on RCCL and we are looking forward to it. :D

  4. I have been watching this cruise as well. The 12/13/14 cruise goes to Grand Bahama Island as well (Freeport) .

I wonder if it really is going there or not. I found a cruise port search but the Explorer for January 2015 is not on it.

I am booked on the 1/24/15 sailing from Canaveral on the Explorer and it does go to Grand Bahamas that is one of the reasons I choose this sailing. Could be one of the reasons it calls on Grand Bahama is I think it goes into dry dock in March 15'
