Our Verizon worked in all ports. I think they use a piggyback off the ATT towers, so either should work for you. Coverage gets sketchy a few miles from town so I don't know about Emerald Lake.

Unlike Frugaltravel who has never used TECKK, we have been on a whale watch, bear search and fishing with TECKK Outfitters! Have always had a marvelous time with them. We've caught halibut and salmon, seen lots of bears and whales came so close to the boat you could almost reach out and touch! Keith and Edna are super people and life long natives of Hoonah! Choose whoever you want, but you are going to see the same whales in the same area at the same time as all the other whale watches out of Hoonah. If it was ME I would choose to save with the Toursaver coupon. Wow, I didn't know they were doing the coupons this year, what a great idea!

Tours out of Icy Strait Point usually gets great reviews and has the reputations for having the most whale sightings. I agree that they are good from personal experience. We saw mulitple pods on our tour. Haven't been whale watching out of Juneau.

Can anybody please tell me, how many rides are included in each tour? They say the entire ride takes just 90 seconds, yet the tour itself takes an hour and a half.

One Ride. That time includes the shuttle ride to the top, standing in line, getting harnessed in, and getting unharnessed at the bottom. There are some good videos on youtube. Just search Icy Strait Point Zip Rider. Enjoy ISP, We sure did!

Yes there is a ziprider booth inside the shopping area at the port. Many people that don't book with the cruise line decide to try it once they see how fun it looks. I would go ahead and book a time once you get in port to make sure there is a opening in the afternoon.

We've been on a whale watch with TECKK. It was great. Keith has a new boat for this season and it is going to have a whale listening audio system!
