I tired to get a police discount for my son on Icon and was told it’s not offered.
They do offer them.
I've saved thousands using the police discount.
That being said it isn't offered for every voyage.

I can't wait to try this ship.
Even if I didn't have a kid, I would still love this ship.
I can't see how this ship won't be my favourite.
If you don't like it-sail elsewhere.
More room for my family.

Johnny Rockets shakes, not Ben and Jerry.
Not that I would avoid JR shakes, they are very good as well.
We got shakes from Ben and Jerry's once.
We went back the next day and were told it was a mistake.
I spoke to the loyalty ambassador who apologized for the confusion and said it was due to the franchise agreement they have with Ben and Jerry's.

I can confirm that Capt James MacDonald is currently at the helm of the Liberty (at least this week).
-
We get off the Liberty this Sunday.
Our flight isn't until 5ish out of IAH.
Any thoughts on what we can do to kill a few hours?
2 things to consider..
1. My mom doesn't walk too well.
2. We'll have our luggage with us.
TIA

I have relatives on Liberty, doing a B2B (this week and next). Any discussion about the upcoming storm?Invest 98L
The storm shouldn't have any impact on this voyage.

Are they showing the Steelers-Browns game right now? If so where, since Liberty doesn’t have Playmakers.
It's on in On Air.
Not sure why anyone would wanna watch an NFC North game.. But, it's on.

Who is the cruise director? Is this person good? I like when they have a sense of humor, and you see them around the ship.
I believe her name is Katy. I've seen her around the ship but haven't been to any shows yet that she's hosted.
I've had good cruise directors (Richard Spacey) and bad ones who bragged about themselves (Ken Rush) and had amazing trips on both, so I'm probably the wrong person to weigh in on a CD.

Anything I should know? Sail sept 25th, Thanks
Abide by your boarding time.
Gone are the days when it was pretty good much first to arrive, first to board.
If you dislike smoke you'll dislike the casino and frankly much of the Schooner bar.
Viking Crown Lounge is now a fraction of the size from when I sailed on this type of ship last but I never saw anyone use it before and I don't see many people use it now.

Favorite meal so far?
Beef tenderloin in the MDR.
Ribeye at Chops.
The short rib and risotto are tonight so I suspect those 2 will change things.

What normal things are not available/working? I know she is due for a refurb, plus supply chain issues. We board in just under 2 weeks.
There's a bit of a wear and tear, but that's to be expected.
Overall the ship is in good condition.
I've got an aft facing suite. In the one bedroom there's some vibration.
I can't comment on supply chain issues because I haven't been told no to any thing I've asked for.
There's no Kleenex in stateroom bathrooms - maybe that's why?

I too am interested in current issues. I sale on October 9! Can you comment on what is available at the Cafe Promenade and how is the internet? Thanks.
Cafe Promenade is pretty good. I like some items. I dislike some items
Internet is not good. Starlink is by being installed but isn't active yet.

Did suites have priority seating for Ice show and Saturday night fever play ?
They sure do. Have Amit the concierge make your reservation.
He's the most switched on concierge I've ever had.

I'm on board LOS currently.
My first time on a Freedom class ship in 12 years.
My first time in a suite without the Royal Suite class.
I'm happy to try and answer any questions you have.

Did he/she give a reason why he/she couldn't make the reservations for you in advance of embarkation at Izumi Hibachi? We've never had that problem before. I'm wondering if things have changed?
I was told it is because it is such a small venue and you may want to book it weeks or months before the Genie reaches out.

Hi All,
Cruising next year (Oct) on Wonder of th Seas in Star Class Suite. Have cruised RCL Suites before in Sky class but not Star Class. Specialty dining is included with Star Class suites. I plan making Chef's Table reservations shortly to get the date & time I want and will have our Genie reimbuse me for cost I layed out (less the wine fee). I don't mind laying out the cost for this as the Chefs Table availability is very limited and it will only be the adults in our party.
I would also like to make advance speciality dining reservations (for our full party) for each day. Not looking to layout additional funds given that it is included in my cabin price. I just called RCL customer service and stumped the repsentative. The response was you book the reservations on board. Any suggestions on who to call or email? Thanks much
If you want to ensure you get the time you want, book it and the genie will refund your payment.
I've never had a problem with waiting until the genie contacted me. They made the reservation for my entire party, Star Class or not.
One of the Genie's magical abilities is to find empty tables in full restaurants.

I think you're better off having a room beneath Johnny Rocket's on a Quantum class ship than Voyager or Freedom.
On Quantum class ships Johnny Rockets is an a la carte venue and didn't seem to have anywhere near the foot traffic it does on other ships- and there was certainly no singing and dancing.

Everything else is just discounts, such as 50% of milkshakes (but you can get them free with your vouchers), 50% of Ben and Jerry's, buy one get one free movie rental, and either $5 back after spending $15 at the arcade or $25 after spending $50.
On longer cruises, we take advantage of the arcade benefit, but otherwise the internet and drinks are all that we generally use from the kids.
Hold on- I can use my diamond voucher to get a free milkshake from Ben and Jerry's?????
This changes things. -
I've snagged several cruises with the law enforcement discount and not once have been asked to show my credentials.

Well, that is good news for the local crowd. Might not help on a cruise, but I was really disappointed to hear about the Amazon Prime deal for Thursday Night Football. What's next...Hulu for Monday Night Football? Paramount + for wild card games? Bad trend IMHO.
Get used to it.
Streaming is the way of the future. It wasn't all that long ago the NFL required all of their playoff games to be on over-the-air TV.
Now, ESPN has a slice of the playoff pie.
One thing to consider is that the international broadcast rights are completely separate from the American rights.
That is why you don't see the great commercials and get a completely different announcer crew if you happen to watch The Super Bowl on a ship than you would at home.- 1

There should be a separate line for suites when getting back on the ship in ports....just walk up to the suite line & show your card.
On what ship?
I've sailed in suites on both Oasis and Quantum classes. Not once have I seen/used a separate line to get back on board.
Depending on the ship and port, the concierge can help you get off the ship quicker, but not back on.

Absolutely zero sympathy.
These regulations were neither new nor secret.
They were well publicized.
