  1. Thanks for your review and observations regarding your cruise. I'm booked on the same ship and itinerary on 7/7.

Although my wife and I have cruised many times before, this will be the first time on such a large ship.

I am totally amazed at the number of activities and the amount of planning that entails.

I never had to pre-book shows, but thanks to the posts here I made sure to reserve the shows we wanted to see.

BTW, did you happen to keep the Cruise Compass from your cruise? If you could post them, it would give me an idea of the daily activities, especially on the sea days.

    Thanks again

I have them but keep getting an error message when trying to upload. Will keep trying!

  2. Thanks for sharing your review! I was on the same sailing, so it’s always interesting to read others experiences. We also did self carry for departure and saw that 270 was a sh*tshow and chose to exit from the other side and were off the ship and through customs within 20 minutes. I agree they should manage this better.

As for dining, we found the service in Silk to be exponentially faster than American icon. Not sure why the big difference, but we opted for silk because of that.

I agree with you that the ship felt like it wasn’t big enough for the passenger capacity. Have been on oasis and allure and them having two flow riders, two climbing walls, a bigger casino, and more outdoor space definitely helps with the crowding.

We only went to spectras cabaret and had reservations and when we showed up 30 minutes prior to get a seat, we found that 2/3 of the theater seats had been roped off for some “group” that never actually showed up. The staff member told us the show had been “overbooked”. What?!?! What’s the point of reservations then? That was frustrating.

Overall we had a great trip too though! Thought the ship’s finishings were top notch and were a step up from oasis class.

  3. Hi Kosmo :)

In the current live review on Anthem now:

Clocks were changed on day one.

    1 hour forward.

See the (day one) cruise compass from the live review here:

On day 3 in my previous reply below, Bermuda evening, clocks were changed back.

Or direct link to Bermuda day 3 in the live review:

Hi there! I have a quick question for you. I got some help from others on the boards, but have one follow up. I’m sailing on Anthem right after you get off for their 5 day itinerary. My question was about clock changes because Bermuda is an hour ahead of EST. Based on your cruise planner, it looks like you stayed on EST and then when you left Bermuda, clocks went back an hour. Is that accurate? Just trying to figure out timing for excursions, etc. thanks!

  5. Hi Kosmo :)

There is a member doing a live review on Anthem now, along with cruise compasses. Just a few days ago, May 19th, Anthem in Bermuda, clocks were changed. (Page 2 of the planner) However this is a 9 day sailing, not a 5.

  6. Hi all—

Heading to Bermuda on the Anthem this Saturday sailing from NJ. Few questions:

Does the ship stay on EST or convert to Bermuda time while in port? We have an excursion booked both days and am now wondering about times.

I’ve searched the boards but can’t find any recent 5 day compasses for Anthem. Anyone have any?

    Thanks!

  7. You can get off the ship anytime you want after the ship has cleared the first day. The gangway is open all night for people to come and go as they please. If you want to get off super early on the second day in port, go for it, gangway is open.

Just an FYI, casino will close as usual in port, but it will open up around 9pm the night you are in port.

    Thank you!!!

  8. Hi all—cruising to Bermuda next month on Anthem and are docked overnight. I’ve never done this before and am curious how getting off the ship the 2nd day works. Do the gangways only open at a certain hour? Asking because I’m trying to book a tee time and curious how early we can get off the ship. We dock at 9 the first day we’re in Bermuda and I’d prefer to golf earlier, so that’s why I was thinking day 2 there might be better if we’re allowed off early. Thanks in advance for your help!

  9. Hi there--I booked cabin 10228 on Anthem and then afterward realized it's next to a cabin configuration with a shared vestibule that connects to a single cabin and suite cabin. I'm thinking it might be a high traffic area and worry about hearing the door to the vestibule and the other cabins slamming all night (esp if it's a group that booked the 2 rooms). We're trying to stay on deck 10 because the other people we're traveling with are there as well and the only other one available on that side of the ship is 10166 which looks to be right outside the elevator, which could also be noisy/high traffic. Anyone have thoughts/advice?

  10. Hi there--I will be sailing on Oasis in January and I know that Izumi is being updated to include a teppenyaki/hibachi option. Has anyone gotten confirmation that it will officially be available for all sailings post dry dock? Or will they only roll out the teppenyaki/hibachi option when the dynamic dining kicks in in March?

  11. Have you ever been on a ship before?

Probably less than 5% of the people have ever seen a gym.

However, most ships have enough equipment/machines.

And you should be able to find plenty of things to work out with.

    All the classes are $$

Wow biggest lol today with your response. I literally have tears!

  12. Hi all--will be on allure next Sunday and wondering if we should expect to have the muster drill interfere with the game. Pats are playing at 3 and I know departure is 5. Can someone let me know what time the muster drill is and if they understand that some people just want to watch the game? Fingers crossed...will be some angry passengers if we miss our Pats!

  13. Hi all--my husband is planning to get the unlimited wifi package just in case he's needed for something work related. I have a few questions that I wasn't able to readily find in previous posts.

    1. Any discount offered either for signing up early or through the C&A coupon book? (we're gold members).

    2. Is it even possible to pre-purchase or can it only be purchased onboard?

    3. Does it work everywhere or only in select locations?

    4. Can you connect to it with more than one device?

I think that's it for now...thanks in advance for your help!
