  1. I pretended to apply for a Saudi visa (for Canadian). When it came to payments, it was US 217.00!!

That's about half of a 7 day inside cabin cruise fare and we only need it for one port day.  My travel agent told me it is US $130.  I still find it very steep.

I read somewhere on line that there is a marine transit Visa for cruiser issued by the Saudi government.  The cost is RS100 which is about $30. But I couldn't locate the proper application form.

Does anyone have any experience about it?

    Thanks

It is a nice hotel but the surrounding area is awful!  It is where the freeway enters into the street so there is heavy traffic.  I was scared and refused to cross the street even with a traffic light. It is very hilly and hard to walk.  There are no nice restaurants just a couple of fast food places. If you are looking at price, try Priceline.  We got the Crown Plaza for just under $100 2 years ago, BW wanted $125.  Look at 3 1/2 stars on Priceline and you will either get CP or Double Tree, both very nice.

HI, when you booked by Priceline, did you specify this hotel while booking or did it through the "name your own price"?

    Thanks

  3. We are looking for good restaurants where the locals eat (not touristy places) in Warnemunde, Rostock and Schwerin.

    Any recommendations??

    Thanks.

quote=Nasenbaer;24564963]For restaurants I would also say Ratskeller, I don't know Zur Kogge....and Alex's is a no no, been there many many times with a group of ladies and the service is slow and the food is mediocre. :)

Personally Warnemünde is full of many many great restaurants, with fish being the main speciality. As summer comes the Fish Markets stay open longer where you can get fish sandwiches. Though the people don't speak English you can just point, it normally works. The fish market is after the train stations but before the bridge over the canal. Take a right at Lila Bakerei when walking towards Warnemünde.
