  1. Hello - I have been to Kusadasi before and did the full Ephesus tour experience. I’d really like to avoid another shopping experience like last time I was there. It felt like going to Canal St in NYC where you are getting pressured and having to haggle. To be honest I’d rather have a low stress and relaxing experience.

I really enjoy cooking and trying new foods - I am kind of surprised by the lack of food tours I saw on Viator. And honestly all of the tours I find seem to be the same places and historical sites. Can anyone recommend a tour that maybe involves cooking or food, maybe something a bit different?

    My ship is docked 9-6.

  2. Hello - not finding any shore excursions with RCL that I fancy and I found a Viator tour that I like that starts and ends at St Gerasimos Square from 5-9. My ship is docked from 1-11pm and I have been reading that the cable cars can get insanely crowded toward the end of the day.

How far is St Gerasimos Square from the cable cars and am I giving myself enough time to get back to the ship if it ends at 9?

  3. Hiya - we have a tour that ends fairly early at 11 and our ship leaves at 3. Are there any good places around the ship port to grab lunch or would it be better to just go have lunch back on our ship? When I look at Google Maps it doesn't look like there is a whole lot immediately around the port and I don't want to risk going too far away after our tour.

Sailed on Mariner on May 20 -- booked a beach bed on South Beach.  No one in my group wanted to go to the beach but I totally enjoyed it.  Just vegged in the shade.  Booked Beach Bed 1 as it was close to the bar and the bathrooms.  The lunch was tasty -- wanted lunch around 1 and chose 12:30 to 1 PM -- got lunch around 1 PM.  The tram service was great and the 10 minute ride was interesting as I could see all the amenities and get a glimpse of what is coming.

I don't see Coco Cay Beach Beds for our 9-1-2019 cruise but will keep checking.  I got my beach bed during a sale (think they knocked off about $20).  Some Beach Beds weren't taken.

This was during the first leg of our MA B2B and MA was the only ship.  For the second cruise (5-24-2019), we shared the island with Navigator.

We are traveling in October and I don't see beds or bungalows either available for booking. From the map it didn't look like there were any bars nearby, so you're saying there is a bar in South Beach?

  5. Hiya, going on Harmony and staying in a Grand Suite. Last time I was in a suite we had access to the main dining room menu with food that could be delivered to our room. This was very useful since the last time we were in a suite I was super sick. 😞 I know the revamped the suite perks, is this no longer a perk of having a suite? And is the room service menu still pretty limited? (Like only cereal for breakfast, lots of paid options, etc.)

  6. Hiya. We are platinum level C&A and will be going on our honeymoon in October onboard Harmony. We decided we want to go all out since it's a special vacation. We booked a grand suite and got the honeymoon decor for our stateroom. We were considering doing the beverage package but it seemed pointless if you get free alcohol at the suite lounge? We also decided against doing a cabana at CocoCay since there aren't overwater ones yet and doesn't come with much of anything besides a covered private space.

Is there anything I am missing that we should consider?

  7. Hiya, I have been trying to get info on excursions for our upcoming cruise. I noticed that to get to Mahogany Bay there was a chair lift that went from the cruise port to the beach. My fiancee is terrified of heights, is it walkable from the cruise port to the Mahogany bay Beach?

Yes, I had noticed that but I find the photo strange - it says destination Canada - wondering how accurate it is.

I tried looking for info on Google, but not finding a ton of info. A lot of times I can find Carnival reviews of trip excursions, but nothing for this one. It's a lot of money to spend on something you can't find any info on.

Wow! Says you have to walk about a mile....Will ask my son if he knows where this is. Mames Bungalows are also overnight. If you contact cruise line will they tell you

It's actually .1 miles. I came here looking for info too on the bungalows since I just noticed it for upcoming trip!

We leave this October 4 to Miami and then back to Phoenix October 19.

Didn’t you get a written conformation when you booked. The booking number should be on it. It’s usually six letters, all caps. We got ours by the next day and it appears to come on cruise line letterhead.

I did and I even added it to my AAdvantage account, but it says:

Please call to book your trip

Contact Reservations , Opens in a new window. or call your travel agent to ticket and pay for your trip.

I received confirmation from Royal Caribbean that my Air2Sea went through and a receipt, so I am not sure what happened.

  11. I can swim, my fiancee can't. I have done snorkeling before where the water wasn't very deep and you could still touch the ground. I am looking at the "Everybody loves stingrays and sharks" short excursion with Royal Caribbean and I can't tell what all is involved with the excursion. Can anyone tell me if the water is deep?

  12. Hi! I am wondering if anyone can shed some light on this for me. I know that the new pier isn't open yet at CocoCay, but we are going on our honeymoon in October and some of the cabanas will be available by then.

Chill Island Cabanas $299 – $569 8 guests Oasis Lagoon Cabanas $299 – $569 8 guests Thrill Waterpark Cabanas $499 – $869 6 guests; includes complimentary park admission Coco Beach Club Beach Cabanas $949 – $1549 8 guests; includes complimentary club admission Coco Beach Club Overwater Cabanas $999 – $1599 8 guests; includes complimentary club admission.

It says that Coco Beach Club cabanas are not available until EOY, so are ANY of the cabanas near the water? I can't tell where the Chill Island Cabanas are and what amenities it comes with. Like the beach club cabanas say they come with a mini bar. I'm having a hard time imagining what would make the Chill Island Cabanas worth it.

Cruise Air programs buy their tickets a year in advance and negotiate restrictions (fare codes) to lower the price. IAW they are Consolidator type tickets. One of the special restrictions some consolidator tickets have is that you may or may not be able to accrue mileage.

The ticket you buy from Royal will not be the same as a ticket you buy direct from AA. Yes, the flight number will be the same, yes, the airports will be the same, the boarding pass will be the same, the plane will be the same,,,, but the little gottchas in the fine print will be different.

Crap, I get free checked bags with my credit card, so now I am wondering if I will have issues with that. Makes the flight super expensive if we have to pay to check bags.

I know that problems happen with airlines, however, when an airline changes their schedule over 4 months prior to departure, RCI air department should send a notice that the flight has been changed.I only noticed the flight change when I got my air tickets less than a month prior to departure.RCI said they had contacted me- they did not.

I have a platinum card with American Airlines - I am wondering if I could add the flight to my AAdvantage account so I could monitor it myself.

  15. Hi! So, I would typically never consider leaving for a flight the same day of a cruise, however, we are planning our wedding and would like to be able to not have to work a week before going on our honeymoon. The problem is our wedding is on a Saturday evening and so getting to Florida that night would be impossible (we live in Philly). So if I book our flight through Royal Caribbean (and get an early flight) if there are delays, would Royal Caribbean help us if something unforeseeable happened?

  16. Thanks ! That is super helpful.

I just got off Oasis last Wednesday and had purchased the First Night Done Right. Onboard, we were told we had Sabor and so we went to Chops to try to get it switched. We were able to, but they said Chops was not included (which we didn't know ahead of time) and that we could get 50% off and go for $24.50, so just a heads up that this may happen. We knew in advance though and when we received a bill at the table it was for the $24.50.
  17. So we decided to do the First Night Done Right on Allure and when we went to find out which reservations we could go to we went to Chops and they said we could book Giovannis or Sabor. We booked Sabor and then later on went to Guest Services to ask them to change some other reservations and while there asked about the First Night Done Right options. She told us Giovannis and Chops. So we switched to Chops, but I am concerned someone might have given us wrong information. So, when we go have dinner I am wondering how the bill is handled and how they deal with the charge. Do I tell them we are there for First Night Done Right and will they charge my card?

  18. We'll be sailing Carnival. If we wish to purchase the alcohol package it's for the entire cruise AND every adult in our cabin has to purchase it.

I'm the type of person that looks at a $12 drink and thinks it's too expensive so I won't buy it. There goes my fun. So we're buying the package. That way we can just drink and not have to worry about spending or not spending, prices etc

That's not the case for Royal Caribbean. For RCI not everyone in your cabin needs to get it and for cruises over I think 4 nights you can get the drinks package toward the end of the cruise.
