We sailed Anthem out of NJ in November.

 

If you are going to eat in Grande, then YES. The vast majority of diners were dressed formally. You will always see some that do not, but by and large, yes most did. Outside of Grande, some dressed formally by choice but as a general rule, most did not.

Hi Sascol-- Thanks for the info. Regarding formal, do you mean what we used to call formal? that would be Tuxedos or perhaps a dark suit? Or are a lot of folks wearing jackets and ties? Thanks again.

I think that Royal Caribbean should be mostly concerned about the aggregate opinion of Anthem and Quantum. If you go to the section of Cruise Critic where you can see the ships of a given line and their ratings "XX% Loved It", you will see that among Celebrity, Norwegian, Carnival, Holland, and Royal Caribbean, only two ships are rated below 50%: Anthem and Quantum. Sure there are some negative folks, but there don't seem to be enough positive folks to balance them out for these two ships.

But, hey, I'm open minded. I plan to go on Anthem in March, and I plan to have a good time. Always enjoyed RCI.

You guys keep saying to clear cache and cookies like ppl don't know how to do that the first time. I have cleared mine and am using Chrome and still can't get on the site. I am getting "We are on Vacation" messages. I can actually see the site and log in through Explorer but when I click to do my online check-in it tells me the reservation can't be found. Not everything can be fixed with clearing cache. I also updated my java since the site is very java based. I am guessing it's a java issue since java no long supports chrome. I don't know though because there is an issue on the explorer as well.

 

While writing this my explorer stopped seeing the site as well.

 

I spoke with their website tech and the site has been experiencing difficulties and has been shut down for repairs. It should be back up tomorrow. Today is 12/13/15 @ 1:09 pm. Hopefully this will fix all our issues.

I'm seeing the same thing. Wanted to look at a reservation on Anthem and start checking in, but I guess it can wait until tomorrow.

Take away the loud jarring afternoon music at the outdoor pool. On Caribbean it should be steel drums, Jimmy Buffet, etc. it was so bad on our last cruise we had to leave. There was no melody, just loud thumping sounds.

I agree wholeheartedly. It would be great to have a single steel drum at times, playing island music (and not covering popular songs, like Bad, Bad Leroy Brown.). That said, I agree with the later poster who just got off Reflection. I was there and experienced very good music.

Now, if we can just get rid of the pool games with the Cruise Director screaming into the mic.

Agree! S-class and 7 or more night cruise. Just got off Reflection today, none of the concerns mentioned here.

And fourth, would you please talk about the balcony? We will be visiting Equinox for the second time with another couple we travel with in December (11 night western). We finally convinced them to get a balcony (they love inside cabins), and it connects to ours. You had one with your In-laws, and I was wondering how the experience is. I say this because it doesn't open up completely, so do you feel like the four of you are just looking around the corner? or do you feel like you can have a drink "all together".

I just want to manage my expectations. Any thoughts (from you or other posters) would be great!

I saw Mickey Dolenz on Explorer of the Seas Christmas cruise a couple of years ago. He was performing with his sister (good show), and he happened to hit the hot tub I was in. My friend who was in the tub whispered, "Look! There's the Monkee man!"
