  1. It's a few years ago now that we did a private tour with Bernard's Tours in St Maarten. It was excellent. We were lucky to have Bernard drive us for part of the journey in an eight seater, think a Mercedes mini bus. He was a most interesting man and the tour included, beach for couple of hours, the airport beach,, market for shopping and rum punch on board. Cost, 40$ each. Hope this helps

  2. I'm sorry to see that no-one has posted a reply to your request for info on your upcoming cruise on the Aurora. I was hoping for some good advice too, as we sail in September on the same cruise. As for tours, most of the destinations we seem able to just get off the ship and have a wander around, soaking up the atmosphere. Apart from the stops at Cadiz, where I'd like to do the P and O trip to Seville and in Sicily the trip to Taormina village.

I hope to read your review on your return, lots of detail please! Have a wonderful cruise.

  3. Thank you all for your advise and help. We have booked the Holiday Inn at Eastleigh. We have parking at transfers to the port. CPS quoted £180 and we would have needed an overnight stay somewhere as travelling down from Northumberland. Perhaps another time we'll make sure we have free parking.

  4. Hi all. We stayed at the Grand Harbour last year pre-cruise and have booked again for this year as the car is parked securely onsite for the duration and the arranged taxi to and from the quay was so easy. Staff there are excellent with concierge arrangements. Hotel is clean and comfy, food ok and only a short walk into town too. So suits us just fine. Not quite the cheapest of course but with our select OBC v free Port parking meant we were quids in overall.

Thank you for your reply. Have just phoned Grand Harbour and they are not taking bookings that weekend because of the Boat Show. Neither are The Mercure or Holiday Inn. We have a quote from the H.I. at Eastleigh with parking so may go for that. CPS quoted £170 for 17 nights. If we ever cruise from S/ton again, will make sure it includes free parking!!

  5. Hope you had a great cruise. I have read all the postings you received and see you decided on Holiday Inn at Eastleigh. How did you find staying there?

Sorry can't help its March 2017 we go on this cruise

Oh, didn't realise thought it was this year. Thanks for replying though. We go in September, so maybe can let you know how our experience has been.

  6. Thanks everyone I have booked Southampton Eastleigh travelodge, reviews are good, 9 miles from the port, plenty of parking and a harvester next door for breakfast. We will be having evening meal at a services on the way down

We have a cruise booked for 18th Sept 17 nights , but no dockside parking included. That weekend, is the S/ton boat show, and I'm struggling to find somewhere with stay and park near the port. Today have been quoted £258 at H. I. Eastleigh with taxi to port. Wondering whether to bite the bullet ( price wise) or stay out of the area overnight and pay for CPS parking, though concerned that the car will be kept off site somewhere. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

  7. Hi,

I'm from the UK and this is the first time I've posted on the fashion forum, even though I look at it nearly every day. I just had to post a reply to say the dresses for $10 each look lovely.

The lady in the long dress..........it is just fabulous and looks so good on you.

One of these days I'll pick up courage to post one of me in my dress/es.

We are cruising at the end of the month, so perhaps will get a nice photo taken I can share with you.

  8. On Equinox 5th Feb 2010

    Deck 10 Sky deck

    Cabin 1106

    Class - Concierge

Starboard side - last cabin on the side of the "hump"

    Soot- none

Balcony - slightly larger on one side because of being on the side of the hump. Chairs had footstools,

Wind - no worse than anywhere on the ship, same with movement.

View - very good, no obstructions

    Noise - none

Cabin layout - bed next to balcony. If we have a choice on another cruise, then would prefer bed next to the wardrobe/bathroom end, as it seems to make more room in the sitting area, then the coffee table wouldn't be in the way when moving between bed and bathroom.

Found storage space adequate, though the wardrobe was full.

Bathroom - excellent use of space, liked the shower with glass/plastic doors, and the controversial wash basin and tap, I LIKED IT!!

Position on deck - close to elevators and the library, down to Main Dining Room and public lounges, shops and up to the Ocean View buffet resturant and pool and sun decks. We always walked down the four flights of stairs back to our cabin. Sometimes even walked up.

    Cabin Stewards - were OK
