  1. Are there any other outfits in Nassau other than Stuart Cove, they have a strict 7:45 a.m. pick-up at the terminal and the Oasis arrives at 8:00 a.m. Stuart Cove basically told me to work out transportation with the cruise ship, i.e. book your excursion with the ship, not independently.

With that attitude, I do not want to use Stuart Cove and want to go with the small guy, willing to work with people who want to book independently.  Thanks

  2. I just tried booking through Stuart Cove for a February 11th stop in Nassau, Stuart Cove told me (via a telephone conversation) that they pick-up at the cruise terminal at 7:45 a.m. I will be on the Oasis with an 8:00 a.m. arrival, which means more like 8:30 a.m. departure from the ship. Stuart Cove just said sorry, their pick-up time is 7:45, work out your transportation to the shop via the cruise ship, basically, book an excursion through the ship instead of independently; which stinks, I have always booked my dives independently, but I guess the cruise lines are bullying operators to force passengers to book via their more expensive excursions.

  3. We were also on this sailing, had a great time! Did you know that there were two omelet stations in the Windjammer? I don't think many knew this, which was great for those of us who did.

Sorry you did not like the escargot, it's one of our favorites and I got is about four nights, my partner, he ordered it everynight, lol.

Looks like you had a good cruise so far.

  4. I purchased one for my recent sailing on the Navigator (9-day cruise) and you can use it at the Starbucks counter and if the Windjammer espresso machine is working there. I ordered cappuccinos every night after dinner in the MDR and there was no charge, I have 7 left over that I will use on another cruise. Now that I know I can get cappuccinos complimentary after dinner each night, not sure I will buy another coffee card.

  5. We just got off of the 9-day cruise on the Navigator. The second formal night they served delicious lobster and prime rib as well...my partner had both (surf and turf) and they even served him and another guest (also a guy) at the table a second lobster. The ladies ate just one lobster each, lol (and I had a portion of my partners prime rib which was delish and tender!) The lobster was perfectly cooked, and I know lobster, we dive for shovel nose lobster all the time at home.

  6. We were at a table for 6, but on the first night only one other couple showed up, they were from Kansas or somewhere in the mid-west, kinda awkward people, I did not feel comfortable with them at all, they seemed to force smiles and small talk.

Luckily they moved to another table for the rest of the cruise which left a 6 top for just the two of us (next to the balcony), great seats! and great waitstaff!

  7. I have never been asked to see a log book, with computers nowadays, I think log books are one of those antiquated things that the "old" guys might still use.

Just be sure to have your C-card; they do ask to see that.

On a side note (we use our own dive gear) that probably helps to lend some credibility in our abilities.

  8. We're planning on diving in Bonaire, heading over to Hamlet Oasis (resort) and use the dive shop there to do a beach dive out back. Glad to see that car rentals are available.

Our second choice for diving on this cruise (Navigator January 2017) is Curacao instead of Aruba.

We're thinking of also beach diving it, maybe a boat dive to get out a little farther.

Anything that we should try to see? We are certified divers and are not so interested in snorkeling (maybe for surface intervals). Thanks

  9. ??? Navigator was the first cruise ship I ever sailed on, it was out of Tampa, FL. We're booked on another Navigator cruise out of Miami in January 2017, super looking forward to it (9 days in the southern Caribbean). My experience was nothing but excellent and began my journey and love for cruising. I am sorry that you had a horrible experience, but I will say after cruising 4 different cruise lines (Princess, Carnival, Norwegian and RCI), RCI is my favorite cruise company.

  10. I sail on the Dawn next week and this is my first NCL cruise. I too read a lot of negative reviews, on the reviews page of this website and was extremely concerned as I am a loyal RCC cruiser and LOVE LOVE LOVE RCC.

I am glad some folks posted on this thread and the responses were good, some of yall may want to do a full blown review and off set all of the negative ones.

Thank you for all of your information.
