  1. Hey, Robert! I found you! Can't wait to read the entire thread. Thanks for your help with the Mobile Passport, it did work for us and at the time we were leaving the line there was MUCH shorter than the other one (around 8:30).

I went to breakfast before I headed off the ship. After breakfast I had to take my last bit of photos of the other ships in port.

Here is a shot of the Hyatt in FLL where they have the webcam at.

Here are the condo's where they have the other webcam at.

Here is a shot of Celebrity as they were returning from their 80's cruise.

One last shot of Freedom at T29. I will be sailing Freedom next February on an 8-Day Eastern Caribbean.

I tried to do the Mobil Passport but with no luck as it just kept saying that it could not process at the current moment and to go to the regular line. Maybee next time.

In terms of getting off the Harmony it was the easiest that I ever had. I left the room around 0700 and was at the car and gone by 0740. There was no line to get off and no line at customs. Also the shuttle was there waiting as well.

Once I got back into Central Florida I headed to the Ballfields for an umpire clinic and then home

Thanks for joining me on this great cruise. My next Live from will be from Serenade in December unless something comes up sooner.

See everyone in December on Serenade

  2. I saw the photo on another website. It was pretty specific about who was "allowed" into the CL.

You mention Rahul, is he the Concierge on Freedom? We have only sailed with him once.

Yes, Rahul is the Concierge on Freedom. We have sailed with him twice. The first time, the wording in the letter in our cabin was confusing to us so we stopped into the lounge the first night to ask where the D+ were to go. Rahul seemed a bit dismissive and told us to go to the lounge in the front on deck five. We eventually learned that we would have been fine in the Concierge Lounge. However, we again sailed with Rahul in October and he was very nice, so the first time there may have been mis-communication.

  3. Sorry for the repeat posts... Just got the answer about this from Nadja.

Amit was enroute to the ship from another ship and due to a flight delay missed a connection and therefore the sailing today. Per Nadja he will be here Tuesday (San Juan) and will be the Concierge. At that time Nadja will move to the Diamond Concierge.

Again sorry for the multiple posts - just wanted to update people since several have been curious about the Navigator

Will be on Navigator 12/12. Haven't yet met, Amit so will look forward to meeting him, based on comments here.

  4. Thanks Terri. Hard to post here and I don't want to put my email out ........so sad to tell you Desi passed away in January 2014. Totally unexpected ......he had a massive heart attack. It has been a difficult 18 months. So much to tell you. I have stayed in touch with some cruising friends. Actually went on the Independence in June ......went with an old friend from Illinois. It was her first cruise so very different. I am thinking of trying a solo - just need to get my courage together! Hope to sail with you again.

Oh wow Pat, I am so sorry to hear this. I hope to sail with you again, too. You can email me at my address, it's aol and the same as my CC name.

  5. Terri - never forget that screen name! I remember we love that same cabin. Also got upgraded once from there. I have changed my name here on CC but hello fro your trash talking friend from Green Bay!

Wow! Long time no see! As soon as I saw your post and where you were from I knew who you were. I know you two came up in a conversation between Jeff and I a few months ago, something to do with trash, as I recall, lol. Yes, we did talk about those cabins during one of our cruises together! We likely had one on the first cruise where we met, Mariner.

BTW, circumstances since we last met dictate that I could change my CC name to "GrandmaDHair", but I'm not going there, lol! ;)

  6. When I have a corner aft, I mark my preferences do not upgrade...I wouldn't want to be anywhere else! :)

I hear ya, it was a tough call. But the first time we took the JS and were upgraded AGAIN during check-in at the pier...couldn't complain about that Grand Suite at all, lol!

  7. I am super excited!! I looked online and saw that 1700 was available for 9/20/15 so I snatched it up!! Anyone have this room before?

I have had the deck 10 corner aft cabins many times. Coincidentally, the two times we were upgraded on those ships we were booked in the corner aft!

I have #1400 in Oct. I had no idea about the room until i saw a video of it on youtube and i was like yes i need that room. lol.

Take care of 1400! It will be ours the week after your cruise!

  8. Awesome, and looky who the staff captain was, Captain Johnny! :D

Dressing up for dinner was the norm. I was not prepared with fancy evening gowns on my first cruise so I my second one in 1995, I took an all beaded and jeweled cocktail dress that I swear weighted 25 pounds. No way would I have gotten under 50 pound luggage limit on airlines.

Something I thought interesting each stateroom got a copy of the passenger list.

  9. Here is the link to the current spread sheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...#gid=371892551

I am referring to the CL not dia lounge. originally under current concierges it was said Gr has none. no mention was made as to the dia lounge. it was just stated that Gr has no concierge. see why all the confusion.

now are we saying CL or dia lounge??????????

it is bad enough all the confusion as a senior citizen----but when no specific lounge is mentioned-----WOW :confused::confused:

Hey there, Ed! Long time no see! You'll get the hang of the spread sheet, don't worry. It actually took me a time or two before I noticed the tabs at the bottom myself, but it really is very handy to use.

Please remember that volunteers are maintaining this list, and I, for one, am very happy with the spreadsheet. It is clearly laid out and a great resource. Thank you, ladies, for keeping the information updated. :)

Yes, thanks to the volunteers, I know it can be a ton of work to keep track of any sort of list on a Cruise Critic thread!

  10. I cant wait for the Navigator to come back to Florida! I'll be cruising often, and spend time with him! He hopes to stay on Navigator for a while!! :)

He's not my first, but he is one of our favorite, and personal friend of ours!

I have book NV out of Florida, too, Dec. 2015. We had not seen Ricardo in years when we last saw him (I think four years ago) and he immediately knew us and got up from his desk to greet us with "My Guests, My Guests"! Made us feel special and I look forward to seeing him again in...a month from today, woohoo! (I'm on summer "cruise drought" when we stay home, so I'm extra ready!)

  11. We are fairly new D+. Our next ship is the Oasis TA. I don't know any of the concierges on that ship at all.

Karen, we LOVE Israel! Please, please, please say hello...we've sailed with him several times and I am sure he'll remember the blinkies, my silly hubby, the hair, etc. What an awesome guy. We cruised with Allan once on Mariner and said hello to him the day he originally boarded Oasis, seemed nice, but we didn't have a ton of interaction for me to be able to comment more. But Israel is right up there with Dex on our list!

  12. Fernando and Dexter Fraser are currently in the CL on Allure. Dexter goes on vacation August 24 and returns October 19.

Woohoo! So as long as Dexter returns to the same ship after vacation I should see him December 14th! And Fernando was either our first or second concierge ever...I hope to see him again, too. :D

  13. If the sign at the entrance of the MDR says "no shorts during the evening meal". Why would you ask us if shorts are OK ???? read the sign...

    WHY--WHY--WHY ???????????????

I miss you, Ed, lol. And your lovely bride. And you know me (and Jeff), we love to dress up on cruises and have no real opportunity to do so in our "casual" city of Phoenix.

BTW, on a recent cruise, our concierge made a point to tell me how much he loves that I still like to dress up every night. :D

I get weary of reading replies on these types of threads that are something like, "It's your vacation, wear whatever you feel like". *sigh* Not to say I am not traditionally a rebel...but for me dressing nice is part of the fun as as they make it more and more relaxed I fear I may as well give up and go to the Windjammer for dinner, which I hate doing. It's sad, but increasingly I feel out of place for being dressed up!

  14. Tell you the truth, I haven't see him for a while! We exchange emails, very often!

He's telling me that he's fine, but he will be checking with a cardiologist, when he gets home!!!

We are D+! We know him for many, many years, and he became one of my 'cruising kids' :)

Good to know he should be there in October. At this point I am not sure what year we reached Diamond, but that was when we met him, on Mariner. We didn't see him again until quite a few years later on our first D+ cruise. We walked into the CL on Oasis and he looked up and immediately got up and said, "My Guests!". :)
