  1. My guess is that NCL knows that they are going to have to cancel cruises into July, at least. If they announce that they are cancelling, they will be required to refund cash within 90 days. The longer they wait, the longer they can collect interest with our cash. Also, by not cancelling, they are able to leave the booking windows open which will increase their current cash on hand. It all revolves around money.

  2. Just go to the pool the first day and get several towels. Since you are at sea, they don't check them out. They just give them to you. Take those towels off the ship and you don't ever have to sign them out. Just remember to return them some time later when they aren't checking towels in. That way you don't raise any suspicion. All problems solved.

  3. They are very aware of the issue, at least the reps are. When I called to get overcharge refunded the rep told me they knew there was an issue and they were working on resolving it. I told nowhere near fast enough as its been going on for way too long.

If they are very aware of this, they need to do something to stop it. Knowing that a system charges people that shouldn't be charged is a major issue...criminal in my opinion. If they don't fix it, they are fraudulently charging people for a product that they don't provide thus scamming customers.

  4. Don't just think about a BBB complaint; file also with the FL Attorney General. Unless RCCL upper management is totally stupid (and I don't think they are), there is no way that they are unaware of this. Months ago I thought this was sloppy management and unacceptable. I now think it is outright FRAUD.

To RCCL: If you are reading this (and you should be), I'd be more than happy to hear your side of the story.

Thanks for the AG suggestion. I was digging at who to complain to. I really let the rep have it and told him to pull up cruise critic and read the mini bar charges. He probably won't, but at least I tried.

  5. Just off the Enchantment. Didn't touch the two bottles of water in our cabin. In fact, we went on an excursion at Coco Cay where we received four bottles of water. We brought one (unopened) back on the boat and left it on the counter next to the two "mini bar" bottles. When we disembarked, there were still three unopened bottles on the counter. Our paper statement showed correct numbers, but our e-mail statement showed a mini bar charge in the amount of $12.47. I think i will be filing a complaint with the BBB. This is unacceptable!

  6. Our TA issued a free spa treatment certificate as a promotion. This is not something that we will likely use. However, the promotion offered different certificates depending on the category booked. We requested from our TA to exchange our certificate with the dining certificate which was available for lower categories and considered less valuable. Our TA told us that RCI doesn't allow them to exchange these. Has anyone had experience exchanging these certificates once onboard?

  7. Yes, you can purchase individual drinks.

If your son is in your cabin, you are required to get the soda package for him if you are getting the UBP. If he is not, I would simply pay for the sodas a la cart.

  8. You can just mark through the present cabin # and write the correct one on there.

Thanks, everyone. I will likely go this route since I already printed several in color ink. I didn't know if the tag color indicated a different part of the ship. My upgrade is from a grand suite to a royal family so I won't have to change that. Thinking I will get out my label maker and make it look good.

  9. Switched our cruise for spring break of my second monsters senior year. It is April of 2017. Sniff!

We booked a suite and got both the UDP and UBP. Are gratuities included for these? I realize we have other gratuities - service plan - but can't figure this out.

We will have 3 teenage boys with us - they can seriously put away some food - and Momma can enjoy a margarita.

We love NCL but all these new changes encourage us to not purchase a future cruise reward.

    Thanks in advance.

Call your TA or NCL and have them add gratuities (DSC) at no extra charge. That is part of the current promotion. Just check to make sure your room rate doesn't increase.

We booked our room for Apr 2017 in Feb and called when the Mar promo came out. About 10 min on the phone saved us over $100.

  10. Be sure to find out what days the street festivals occur. There is one in St. George and one in Hamilton. Definitely go to the aquarium...best deal on the island. Plan to eat on the boat. Food is VERY expensive on the island, as is everything else. Buy a 2/3 day bus pass. It is worth it. Don't waste your time at glass beach. It is just a bunch of broken bottles. Make sure you visit St. George! They have a great perfumery and other interesting places to visit. Do not rent a moped/scooter! They are dangerous and the locals driving them are crazy. Lots to do at Bermuda. It is like an upscale Bahamas.

  11. Ask your concierge but the decision is up to the captain. We've had three with the concierge, not on the Sky, all on the Pearl, three different captains and concierges.

Thanks. I will be sure to ask when we eventually go on this cruise.

  12. How did that come about? We have a cruise booked in the GV and I would love to get a tour.

On the Dawn, the concierge surprised us at some point. It was about an hour long or so. It was quite a memorable experience!
