I was recently on RCCL Oasis OTS. I was so disappointed in their Spa offering. Granted, this was my first cruise since the Anthem in 2018, but upon arriving at the Spa to use my thermal suite pass, I came to find that there were only four thermal lounges and no whirlpool included. I cancelled the pass, but I was looking forward to my hot stone massage and planned to spend an hour or so before my massage enjoying the whrlpool, sauna and steam room. Wrong! Not included. $200 massage and you get nothing. My question - is this typical of every cruise line? My daughters and I have enjoyed these ammenities on previous cruises, but it seems they are a thing of the past.

Granted its been 6 years since I was on The Anthem, but my experience was not great. In 2018 everytime I tried to use the band to get a drink it did not work so I had to take it off. I think it worked sporatically on opening the cabin door. For those of you who have used these since, have they been perfected? I have no problem paying for them, but Iwant them to work all the time not part of the time.

" Oh, and of course, all the guys at the Martini Bar for my French 77s (a great twist on the French 75)."
I am a huge fan of the French Martini - but- I have not heard of this French 75 or 77. I can't wait to try any and all variations next month on the Reflection!

kokopelli-az - thank you! That is exactly what I needed to know. If I can take a tram on the pier to somewhere fairly close to Breezy Bay I will be fine. I just saw that long pier and thought yikes!!
Thanks again - crisis averted!

Hello,
I will be visiting Coco Cay in June. I just saw the long pier and I realize I will have to use my scooter to get to the island.
My question is I have a beach bed reserved at breezy bay. Will I be abe to bring the scooter relatively close to where the beach beds are?
I can walk a moderate distance, but I am unsure if the scooter will be safe if I have to leave it unattended.
Has anyone been to Coco Cay that cn give me some info?
Thank you.

Alright. Winemaker for a Day is fairly simple and pretty fun. You get 5 wine samples and create your own blend. You then get to bottle your blend and take it home. It's at Bahama Barrels, the winery at the Greycliff hotel.
When we did it back in 2018, right after they started, we got to play with 5 single varietals (3 red and 2 white). This time, everything was already a blend, so we were blending blends. That's not quite as fun and interesting, but it's still a good time, and I recommend it.
Another thing different from before is that the winemaker asked everyone if they preferred sweeter or drier wines and tailored the samples accordingly.
This sounds so interesting to me. My friends are going to Atlantis, but I'm not much of a gambler. I would love to do this. Can you speak more to the logistics. For example, did you book through Viator? Did you take taxi? If so, what was the fare? Coming back, did you have any trouble getting a taxi back to the port? Do they sell wine besides the souvenir bottle oof wine? Thanks so much! I'm excited to do this!

Does Ms. Bernie sell any other drinks besides beer?

Sea days are perfect days but considering day 6 is the night before arriving back in port and luggage needs to be out it could happen on a port day (5) We have seen it both ways.
Isn't night 7 the last night of a 7 night cruise?

We always wore our jewelry on vacation. But, on a trip to Anguilla, my husband was in the ocean - not snorkeling - and his wedding ring fell off. After that, I purchased Kohl's variety costume rings and leave the good stuff in the safe at home while on vacation.

Are Evening Chic nights still Night 2 and 6 on 7 night caribbean cruises?

Do the showers in all the cabins have doors on the MG?
John Heald did a walk through of an ADA AFT Extended Balcony and the bathroom had a shower curtain - obviously needed for this category. But, every other cabin from interior on up has a shower door.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and the great photos. What was your opinion of the digital wall? While watching John Heald's live video yesterday, it looked like their were spaces of light between the panels when they changed positions. While the imagery was fabulous, for me, the space was distracting. How did it seem in person?

Mardi Gras looks great but the standard balcony cabins look extremely narrow. I am old with old knees ( but with a very youthful mind) and I just can't walk these extremely large ships. I hate the idea of taking an ADA cabin away from someone else, but there is no way these standard cabins will hold a scooter.

A free suite is a great offer (Ultra promo? That's what we're under for that sailing I believe).
We managed a suite offer once. It ended up being one of the most expensive FREE cabins we've ever sailed in. Could have booked a cabana several times over!!

We had that experience on land in Las Vegas - Free is never FREE- hahaha

My thoughts on a closed in smoke free casino without a bar on a different deck than the Casino:
IMO, I think for passengers, it comes down to what you want more - to gamble or a drink or a smoke or the convenience of a cashier where you are.
Compare the tables or slots in Vegas and the constant beverage service to the cruise ship waiting and waiting and waiting for someone to appear to take an order AND come back with it. Then if you are fortunate to win and want to cash out - you have to go and find the cashier - who is in the very place you did not want to go in the first place. Then there is the scenario that you are playing BJ and you are on a streak, but you really want a cigarette - that is not a decision gamblers or smokers want to make.
I am an ex-smoker (we are the worst!) - but I just can't see this being successful long term.

I'm happy for him. He is not going on vacation. He is going on that cruise to work on behalf of Carnival. For many many people ( maybe not the ones on this board) he has been the voice of hope for the past 16 months and many guests on the Horizon are thrilled he will be joining them.

During yesterday morning’s video chat, he was asked if he would be wearing a mask. He explained that crew members are required to wear masks at all times, unlike guests. He stated that because he is cruising as a guest, he technically did not have to wear a mask; when he is interacting with guests, he would not wear it, but when he was in crew areas or otherwise interacting with crew members, he would wear it. It was stated very clearly that on that particular cruise, he was (would have been) sailing as a guest.Well then so much for my 'work around' thanks. Can't have it both ways.

FAQs posted on another thread this morning stated that guests who missed the embarkation port would not be permitted to join the cruise at another port and would receive no compensation.
But he is not a guest. he is an employee and employees get on and off at ports all the time - at least they did before the pandemic.

Is the Horizon's 7/3 itinerary the same as 7/18?
If so, Horizon's first stop is Amber Cove, couldn't he fly to DR and get on ship there? And, get off again in Bimini? Not ideal, but could be a work around. His eyes were so sad during his live. I feel terrible for him.

We are booked on RCL next July. I just looked at coco Cay prices! Everything has increased dramatically. We had originally booked a floating cabana for $1699. It is now $1899. Beach Club day passes are $199 adult and $179 child. I paid $32 for my grandson last year! It was on sale, but come on! I guess we will just find a lounger. Shame, I was looking forward to Coco Cay, now not so much. I understand the cruise line needs to recoup some revenue, but this outrageous.

Everyone who arrives at the pier will be considered unvaccinated. Offer proof of vaccination and you will be given a bracelet. If you don't, you will receive a hole punched S&S card. This will not be difficult to administer.
RCCL Santorini excursion Sunset Sailing at the Caldera
in Greece Ports
Posted
We are cruising on the Odyssey of rhe Seas next July. There is an excursion in Santorini on a catamaran. Within the description, it states cable caar tickets not included and the return is the port of Fira.
My question is, if we are on a catamaran for a sailing, will we need to take the cable car down? Is so, from where? Or, will we arrive to where we get on the tender back to the ship?
I have never been to Santorini and have no idea of the logistics other than it seems all water vehicles only travel one way and the cable car is less than desirous.
Any info appreciated.
Thanks
Lyn
