We are balcony fans! We have kids and usually need a time out around 3/4:00 on sea days and after we return from a port day. The kids hang out in the room watching a movie with a snack while the husband and I hang out on the balcony with a bottle of wine and a cheese plate. Its great in the mornings while pulling into port, as well waving goodbye as we are leaving. I feel the only real advantage to an oceanview over an inside view is knowing if its still night or morning when you wake up. We probably wouldn't book an oceanview again.

We are staying near the Space Needle, two different hotels one on each side of the trip. Princess cruise, pier 91 I believe.

We set sail out of Seattle, will be at a hotel the night before, any suggestions on who to book our transfer to the port with, or who not to book with?

Thank you!

We are heading out on our first Princess cruise in a month. I see there are many different restaurants, could someone give me a brief explanation of each? If you select traditional dining do you go to the same restaurant each night or is there a rotation? How about anytime dining, are there choices or just one anytime restaurant? For the specialty restaurants how far in advance do you need to make a reservation?

I'm booked in balcony on the Crown Princess. We are going from Skagway through Glacier Bay on to Ketchikan. If I want to spend time on my balcony do I care which side of the ship I book my room?

So I should book the itinerary and date I want in a cabin I don't and hope for an opening? I'm currently booked in my 3rd choice in a mini-suite. Maybe I'll keep both until it gets closer.

New to Princess, I am trying to book an Alaska cruise in July 2016. There are 4 of us so we want the mini suite. My first two choices are sold out, southbound and northbound. What are the chances I'd be able to get a room later, do people cancel very often? Is it best for me to book my third choice and then if I find an opening call and switch, or should I book the cruise I want in a different stateroom and then move if the category we want becomes available?

Thanks for all the assurance! I think we will make the leap and book with Princess!

We are discussing a Alaska cruise with our kids 9 & 12. From my research if you want to cruise Alaska, you choose Princess. If you want to cruise with kids, you choose Disney. I want to do both! Will we be out of place on Princess? We have done Disney many many times, and go back because we feel welcome with our kids. We are not sore thumbs in the dining rooms, shows, or other public areas, everything is family friendly. My kids are not fans of the kids clubs, they rather spend time with us. Will there be plenty of things for us to do together on Princess?

Do we have to pay for soda at dinner if we don't have a drink package?
