  1. Anyone have recent experience with disembarking at Yokohama? Diamond Princess is scheduled to arrive at 6am and I am wondering how long to expect disembarkation/luggage retrieval and customs to take. Thanks,

  2. Does anyone have recent updates on snorkeling (condition of reefs post hurricanes) in St Thomas, St Kitts, Antigua, Grand Turk? I am assuming St Lucia and Barbados were ok. But would love to know if we should even bother with snorkeling at the others. We are avid snorkelers and dead coral is not exciting for us. I too have a full face mask and really liked it the one time I used it, but can't decide if I like the small/medium or the large one I got to try next - It does take some getting used to and you can't hear someone trying to communicate with it on! ;p

  3. We are avid snorkelers and will be in Belize City on a Norwegian cruise - would like advice about the best way to snorkel the barrier reef without the island time wasted. We want true snorkeling not beach time. Have been to Belize before to stay but never cruised there. thanks,

  4. We haven't done Windstar yet but imagine the tours we did from Princess in 2005 are about the same. Since we did all the land tours then we are going to forego them this time but they were all really interesting. We did snorkel trips at all ports in afternoons last time too. We loved the Tahaa drift snorkel and have booked it for August Wind Spirit. We also loved Bora Bora snorkel trip and are planning that again as well as Moorea. I would recommend a jeep tour of Bora Bora since we are there longer. We take our own gear to be sure it is comfortable and doesn't leak. Let me know what you do and your review. Can't wait! Love Tahiti!!

  5. If we do the drift snorkel at Tahaa will there still be time to enjoy the motu if we leave that early? We have done the drift before there and loved it so have booked it already.

Did you or anyone you know do the motu picnic on Huahine? We did one in 2005 and loved it but wonder if the expense is worth it on this one. We have already toured all the islands but want snorkeling at every point this time. Thanks for your help. No one else has posted reviews yet from this itinerary.

  6. Reading the thread in prep for our Aug 1 sailing to Tahiti. In response to comment about closed toe water shoes... The last time we were in FP I think my hubby only took Teva sandals for water. We use fins when necessary so where did you feel closed toes necessary?

Wind star doesn't list the motu at Tahaa although it is pictured on blog. Anyone know if that is done on every Tahiti cruise? If we do the drift snorkel will we still have plenty of time to enjoy motu?

Is there a problem with scheduling the Hobie cats and kayaks etc or are there plenty for the demand?

    Thanks for advice.

  7. Thanks for posting your review - we are booked in August and have done Princess to Tahiti a few years back but never Windstar. So, here are my questions, if we do not book excursions everyday will we be able to go into "town" and spend time? Do we want to be careful not to fill up all our time with excursions so as to have some free time? How much time was the marina deck available to snorkel, sail, and kayak from? Is that crowded schedule wise, or can you pretty much access the equipment whenever you want? We did lots of tours on our last trip, and want lots of snorkeling this time again.

Also, do you "dress" for breakfast/lunch on board or do you wear swimsuits/coverups?

    Thanks for all your help...
