  1. Thanks so much for this! We're leaving on Oasis in a couple of weeks and this is helping get through the home stretch!

One quick question about your "Major Warehouse Club" extras. We have booked through the same club and are also getting the specialty dining, cupcake class, etc. Two questions--which restaurants can the specialty dining credit be used at--just Chops and Giovanni's? Also, did you have vouchers waiting for you in the room or was it just noted on your account? Thanks!

  2. Thanks for the replies so far! And yes, sorry for any confusion. We will already be doing a snorkeling excursion in the morning and are just looking for a place to hang out in the afternoon, so we don't need somewhere that offers snorkeling. Just cheap drinks and a nice view!

  3. Going on a big family trip on Oasis of the Seas next month and as of now we're planning to go snorkeling in our morning in Cozumel. We're in port from 7:00-6:00 and expect to be done snorkeling between noon and 1:00. Accordingly, I'm hoping to find a bar or restaurant with a cool view where we can spend a couple of hours and drink some cheap drinks. Hoping to find somewhere that's no more than 10 minutes or so from the International Pier by taxi. Any recommendations are appreciated!

  4. I'm currently in the process of researching excursions for an upcoming family cruise and we had a lot of interest in the Jamaica Culinary Tour in Falmouth based both on some posts here as well as the overall great reviews on TripAdvisor. We're now getting to the point where we want to start booking things and I got on TripAdvisor again to find that there haven't been any new reviews since July. Maybe I'm crazy but that's now given me pause. Seems like reviews were coming in pretty regularly but now...silence...

So basically I wanted to see if anyone has been on this excursion recently and see what they thought. The good, the bad and anything in between!

  5. Bringing this back from the dead! We actually booked today, using the arrangement referenced in my first post (woo for officially booking!) However, I am now looking at the pack and play details on the Royal Caribbean site and nervous that the toddler may be too large for the pack and play. At the very least it seems like she might be a little uncomfortable in it.

Doing a little more research, I've seen people referencing the same issue and that they asked the room steward to simply put sheets on the couch and set it up for the toddler. (It's not a room with a sofa bed couch, but it does seem like the couch would be plenty of large for a 36 month old.) Then they either used the pack and play or something like it as a barrier to deal with any issues of falling off.

Anyone have experience with this? Again, based on what I'm reading it seems to be fine, but I'm a worrier, so gotta check. Thanks again for everyone's help!

  6. Hello! I'm currently in the process of organizing and booking a family cruise for approximately 12 people. Most of it is pretty straightforward except we have one single cruiser and one family of three that includes a two year old. I've found a great deal on the sailing we're interested in but all that is left are cabins that accommodate two. I spoke to a planner and they suggested why not just book two rooms and put the single person with someone in the first room and the remaining two in the second room.

This sounds like an intriguing idea but it's still not quite ideal. We know that we could book the two rooms as connecting rooms, so my question is if it would be possible for the toddler to stay with her parents in a pack and play and let the single person have the 2nd room by themselves? Obviously we're paying full fare for all 4 people, but it's just a matter of comfort and logistics. Any thoughts or insight are appreciated!

  7. Thanks for the responses! k2excursion, those are some helpful suggestions. My gut still tells me I'd enjoy the western itinerary more, but I guess we'll just have to decide which is more practical. One other thing: is it just me or are the eastern caribbean excursions significantly more expensive?

  8. My girlfriend and I are currently planning our second cruise. Our first was Pride out of Baltimore and went to Nassau and Freeport. We enjoyed both ports but are excited to try something new.

We've decided we'd like to go on Liberty this time but we're having trouble deciding on an itinerary.

My first choice is the Western itinerary. Generally, we expect to lounge mostly on sea days, so I would like to do activities on port days. If we did Western, we expect we'd do cave tubing in Belize, zip lining in Roatan, ruins in Costa Maya and an all-inclusive beach in Cozumel.

The problem is the Eastern itinerary dates seem to work a little better for us. One is a 7 day that goes to Nassau, St. Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk. The other is an 8 day and swaps St. Maarten for Nassau.

The current hesitation is that the first itinerary repeats Nassau which we'd like to avoid (though it's not a deal breaker). My other concern is that all these ports seem to only have beaches and shopping based on looking at "Ports of Call." Everyone says they love these ports in reviews but I don't understand what people are doing. What am I missing!?
