Just as you pass through the gates at the pier, on the left side is a "hop on hop off" trolley. You go inside the building and buy your ticket (wristband), I think it was twenty dollars a person last year. It was, in my opinion well worth the cost. They take you to the highlights, and you can get on and off as often as you like.
There is a bar (dive) pass the gates across the street and a free shuttle to walmart.
Have fun :D

I lost my eyeglasses, long story. There are no places to replace eyeglasses in Alaska on the weekend, which were the days we were in port. Take an extra pair, and save yourself a lot of aggravation, just my opinion. :)

Pizzalady1, oops, you are correct. My daughter doesn't like the buffets either, so I guess I will scratch that one off my list. Thanks :)

They have a luau at the Wakiki Aquarium on Kalakaua Ave. They have two options, one with the buffet and one without. I haven't been to it yet but you can check out their website. You can get there on "the bus" #19 or #20. It is just past the zoo and before diamond head.

Pam, I agree with you 100 percent :)

Pam, you seem quite knowledgeable about cruises. I was wondering if you knew if I could bring a small bottle of clorox bleach on board. It is not for cleaning but for a daily medical procedure, required by my dentist?
Thanks in advance

Thank you for the book information :)

I remember that they are not open late. There are no bubbles, just warm water, kinda like sitting in a bathtub with strangers.

I have done many solo cruise's and absolutely love them. I have done Alaska solo once and twice with my daughter. My favorite was a 10 day out of San Francisco, extremely relaxing and low key. I do anytime dining so I can eat whenever I want, never have had to wait more then ten minutes. I am actually looking at Alaska for a solo cruise in September on Princess. Have a great time whatever you decide. :)

I did this excursion a few days ago off of a Princess Cruise. I was hesitant because I didn't want to be bombarded with kids. It was a lot of fun, there were some children but not a bother whatsoever. It was well worth the money, and a nice change from the same old stuff. I would go into more detail but it would spoil it for you if you decided to go. Let's just say we laughed a lot and the employee's were very attentive. Have fun with whatever you decide.

I agree that the last thing I go on vacation for is a "hook up". I prefer the queen bed configuration because at home I sleep in a king size. I usually do solo cruises unless my daughter can work it in her schedule to join me. Ladies enjoy whatever you choose :D

My daughter and I did it two years ago. Had a great time, but the water is cold so it depends what time of year you go, we did it in October. The only downside is that they gave us trail mix as a snack at the end and I wished I would of had a sandwich :) There is a 7-11 across the street from the building where you start and finish the excursion. We went there and got some snacks before getting in the van to go back to the ship. I would certainly do it again.
