  1. Hi! We will be sailing in the Epic on July 16th, picking her up in Marseilles. My question is, if the ship will be in port in the morning, will we be able to board or do we wait until the afternoon like a 'normal' cruise.

Also, what do you think the chances of getting Posh passes?

    Thanks in advance ;)

  2. My cruise is 3 weeks away and for the first time I have no idea what excursions to book. This will be the third time with this itinerary. I don't find any of the excursions that appealing. For St Maarten, I have been to Maho Beach, done a full island tour, and did helmet diving. I am not crazy about St Thomas and always go to St John. But the St John beach break is not showing up on the NCL site. They did away with this excursion? NCL got rid of the St Maarten coastal hike a few years ago. Maybe its because I live near one of the best beaches but none of the excursions excite me.

Also, I have been reading that Orient Beach was hit by a hurricane last year and has not been fully repaired and is sort of run down. I also read Megans Bay in St Thomas is not looking so great either. Its a shame they take the cruise ship business for granted and don't clean up the beaches. Here in Miami Beach, they rake the beach every morning to keep it looking pristine.

Any suggestions would be most welcome :)

    Hi David,

We are excited to be on the same cruise :). I was uninspired by NCL's options as well. In St. Martin you can take a ferry, paddleboard or kayak to Pinel island. It looks small and lovely - beach, restaurant, snorkel. It is an easy 20 minute paddle or quick ferry. St. Thomas has a water taxi to Water Island. They have a beach, bar, amenities and you can rent golf carts to tour around.

Nassau is unappealing at this point. We are open for suggestions as well.

    Less than 3 weeks 😄

  3. Hi all and thanks in advance. We (4 of us) are sailing in the Getaway in February in the Haven 2 bedroom suite. My mother is able to join us so I tried to add her via our guy at Casino at Sea. Our room's capacity is 5 (maybe 6). He informed us that the coast guard puts a cap on the amount of people that can be on the boat due to lifeboats and we can't add her.

Ever run into this? We need her to be able to access the Haven (so she can hang with the kids) so an inside isn't going to work - and is super expensive compared to an add on.

Help! She has her tickets and we were all excited to have her join us.

  4. Our cruise had gone down substantially ($1500) so I called Casino at Sea (we booked through them) to see if they could do anything. They offered $500 OBC (which was awesome and appreciated).

My question is to those of you that have had OBC offered - where does it show up ? I understand that it is not given through NCL so it won't be in my cruise docs. At this point I have nothing on paper and while I am a trusting soul we would be disappointed if we get on the boat and it wasn't there.

I have a vm into CAS which is currently unreturned.

    Anyone NOT receive promised OBC?

  5. I will preface the by saying at I have done my research on this. I have not been able to get a clear answer on how they are now handling this.

We booked with CAS in December and were given a 20% discount off of the going rate. I visited NCL.com last night to see how our cruise was selling and was shocked to see that the prices had dropped substantially. If we booked today we would have saved $1200. (Note to anyone considering a suite in the Epic in Feb - now is the time).

We are a family in a 2 bedroom so there is no chance of an upgrade. Do we have a shot at any OBC and if so what would be the best way to go about it?

    Thanks in advance.
