I'm using Alaska Cruise Transportation from Anchorage to Seward in July. $180 plus tax for 4. Believe they went up 1/1/17. They do have a pick up in Whittier for Princess. Have to be inside the cruise terminal with luggage no later than 8:45 a.m. I don't have the cost. And since I haven't actually used them yet, I can't say they are good or bad. Throwing it out there as an option to get to Anchorage Airport.

K-2 Aviation has Glacier landing tours from 1 and a half to 2 hours. I'm on my own land tour and booked the 2 hour one today. $425 pp. but once in a life time experience.

I agree for 6 a rentai car would be the way to go. Uber is possible for 6, 6 and luggage I don't think so.i utilize Uber all the time and think it is a great service, but for 6 with luggage you either need two Uber's or a car service. Enjoy your trip.

Good question! I have them reserved in July from the airport to Seward. Beats the Avis drop off charge in Seward. It also saves us an extra day of car rental. A down side is we will be getting on board a little later and lose some drinking time. That might be a good thing.

As an alternative we are using Alaska Cruise Transportation from the airport to Seward. It is a bus and in our case it leaves the airport at 2:30 p.m. Cost for 4 adults $180.00 plus tax. We have a busy land tour schedule and it will be nice to sleep in and relax the morning of the cruise. It will cut into drinking time, but we won't have any trouble catching up.

I agree with tonyd285. We have only enjoyed Blu one time, service was exceptional. One evening we spent extra time in the bar and were late getting dressed for dinner. I received a call making sure we were showing up before they gave away our table for six. While we didn't have to make reservations we usually showed up around the same time.

We were on the summit September 4-11. We received an email the day before stating we were leaving port two hours early. We already had private transportation pickup at 9:30; so we were good. While the port was a madhouse, Celebrity did a great job in handling the people.
I was more concern about getting off as we had an early flight. We walked off. Each with a large suitcase and a carry on. No problem. Off, through immigration, picked up by private transportation, to the air port and through Security by 9:00 a.m.

PierceChristtopher thank you for posting.

Only one needs to upgrade.
Thank you Montekat for your response.

Does everyone in the cabin have to upgrade or can just one? I'm fine with Jack on the rocks, but wife would like to upgrade.

We are a group of 6 staying at the same Hilton.. Wonder if there is a van or private service which would give us direct service. If we take the Super Shuttle will they pick us up at the hotel for return to the airport? We are not on a cruise this trip.
-
I took my Grandkids there in June through Carnival. They did not charge for people watching. Just be ready for an eye popping amount for pictures at the end. I thought it was a great experience and tour.

Should I be worried? Arriving Cape Liberty aboard Celebrity Summit on Sunday, September 18. Have reservations on Virgin America out of EWR departing at 12:30 p.m. Was planning on a car service pickup at 9:30 and heading to the airport. This is only our second cruise on Celebrity and we are in an aqua cabin. Is 9:30 realistic if we walk off?

Well we could go into the decision of how much you tip the butler. That would be another couple of weeks. As you can see I'm not a big poster. I come to these threads to gather information and once in a while give what I do. In cruising, as in life, there is a lot of options. Do what makes you happy.
-
Believe me they get the message. When they come around the second time, I say no thank you and immediately order from the nearest server. I'm not sure what your beef is. You do it your way and I'll do it mine. Neither is wrong.
-
Yes we are tip happy, but it is buyer's choice. I'm not rich by any means, but I usually give an extra $ for two drinks when I have a drink package. If I get a server with an attitude, I'll give them the extra buck and go out of my way not to use them again.

On our Panama Canal cruise last March during the Behind the Scene Tour the head of the department said we could have 2 each. We actually came home with one suitcase of clean clothes. As far as the little tag, they are just a reminder of the good time we had while wearing that particular clothing. It is a great benefit, but I wouldn't put in your expensive clothing. I don't have to worry about that.
-
We were on the Sun in March. Sun Suite 8003 forward. Much to our surprise they put a full size one on a small table for us.It wasn't a problem or in the way, actually the pole in the middle of the room was more of a problem. That's another discussion. Room does have a fantastic bathroom and dressing area.

Yes you may reserve 4 with paying on your card. We enjoyed the UDP On the Star a few weeks ago. I made reservations for 4 before we left for every night. Didn't ask if the other two had UDP or not. No payment until after dinner. No problem. Enjoy.

Was in Cabo last Saturday, can confirm no whales.

Tips are covered, but we left a little extra with each drink.

'morning and thanks for the timely offering! Did your itinerary include Acapulco? We're on the Star in less than 2 weeks time, Miami to Los Angeles with stops in Cartagena, Puntarenas, Huatulco, Acapulco and Cabo. I've been a little concerned about the Acapulco stop since the State Dept issued another warning just before Christmas. We're sailing with my 86yo MIL and so are feeling especially cautious.
Best wishes!
Sorry we did not stop in Acapulco. Our stops were at Cartagena, Puntarenas, Puerto Chiapas, Huatulco, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo. Puerto Chiapas was our least favorite port. It's not well developed and not much to do if you don't take a long bus ride on a cruise excursion. It has a lot of potential, needs time the to put in the infrastructure.

We will be going on the Star’s sister ship in March, what type of “glass” & size 6oz, 10oz etc. does the bartender use for say mixed drinks, would it pay to bring my own insulated cup?

Sun 3/29
I drank mostly beer and wine. But I did have a few Gentlemen Jack on the rocks. A good poor and was included in the UBP, guessing a 4 oz. glass. Mixed drinks were in a 10 oz glass. To be honest I wasn't paying attention to the glasses, just the booze.

Left out suites
What kind of coffee maker do they have in the suites on the Jewel? We like to bring our own favored coffee.
