We listened to the travel adviser with NCL as far as not needing passports, but do have birth certificates and licenses.
Now getting nervous if we should get off the boat at any of the stops...Roatan, Belize, Costa Maya, Cozumel
Could there be a problem? Has anyone done it? Thoughts?

There are two people.

I'm brining on a case of wine with me on the Dawn. When I valet my car and luggage at the boat, do I need to place a luggage tag on the box? After paying the corkage fee, do I have to carry the case up to my room or do they take it?

We are going on the Dawn with a large group. What is the best way to stay in touch with everyone? Can you get wifi on the ship to send emails to each other, or get an international text package on your phone so you can send text's.........what the best way to keep in touch?

We are coming in on the NCL in February and just wanted to do a day a shopping and hanging out. How far is the shopping district from the boat piers? Do you recommended a taxi?

I'm on the NCL Dawn Feb 23 and on my agenda it says that in Roatan that it's a tender??? I have never read a post that the it does not go into the pier. Is this right?

If your mixing your cocktails in your room and taking them with you on the boat...what type of portable container do you suggest so not to stir suspicion? You should you purchase a souvenir drink and use that cup? Purchase a cup at the gift store and use that? Bring your own, no one will ask?

I am having a surprise party on the Dawn in February. I was going to have everyone meet us at 4pm when the boat leaves dock. This is the first cruise for many in the party. Here is the question- Were on the boat would be a good meeting place, that we could find each other so that everyone can see when the boat takes off. I was thinking deck 14 at Bimini Bar and Grill.......but will it be too windy? What do you think.

Thanks for the great info. I thought all the rooms have refrigerators? Can I get a refund on any of the bottles that I don't open?

I was planning on brining my own wine on board the NCL Dawn in February. I have a two part question. I plan on claiming it.
1. Do you check the wine in when you check your luggage in? or do they take it from you?
2. If they take it from you, do they chill it if it's white or champagne?

I'm torn...last time we went to Belize, the boat got in late and our tour group, we booked a private tour, left. So this time I'm thinking of going with the NCL group from the DAWN, but then I read how you go with a bunch of people and it's very crowded. The day we dock there will be 5 boats in....and it's the same price if I reserve off the boat, but don't want to miss the group again...and I don't want to get kicked in the head with a large group...what do you suggest?

We are coming in to Roatan on NCL in February 2014. I want to do everything but of course there is only time for one thing...what one thing should we do? Snorkel, beach, shop ? and who should we do it with?

We went in the last week of March. I read the reviews and the price seemed great. We kind of had an over cast day.
Everyone seemed a little off the day we were there. Alot of tours got cancelled on the other side of the island due to the wind and waves. And the re-routed the all here. This reasort does a lot of snorkel tours. We didn't have anyone wait on us. We had to go to the bar for our drinks. I think the waiter who was suppose to wait on us, was serving all these groups lunch. He asked us if we could wait to eat until it slowed down, we were fine with it. You could tell everyone was real busy.
One thing I thought was disappointing was the pics and what it really looks like. There discription, was very Miami. Nope, there was no mistakeing that you were in Mexico. A little run down. Pool, very small and mostly in the shade...furniture run down..food was ok...but price was low. You weigh it out. I think if I didn't it again, I would pay the little more and go to the Westin.
NCL Snorkel Trip
in Belize
Posted
This is my second time in Belize and my first time booking the snorkel trip with NCL.
My first time was with a private group that we found at the port after tendering. We had booked with another company, but by the time we tendered our group had left. The company was very nice and gave us a refund right away. We had to go with another company as this one had no more trips going out for the day. I don't know who they were, but we had two stops to snorkel. Small group of 20, and then got to spend 2 hours on Bannister Island. Was wonderful.
This time I decided to book with NCL since getting tender tickets and the possibility of missing our trip again, I didn't want to try again. So we did.
There were over 100 people on the snorkel trip. We had to meet at 8:30am and didn't even leave the ship till closer to 10:00am. We went directly from the boat to the snorkel boat (nice). They passed out fins and masks, played loud music, and drove about 1/2 an hour. Then pretty much said if you need help, do this and if your ok do this. Then had everyone get off the boat and swim to this one area that a guy in a kayak was in and then swim back...they gave us 1 hour.
We were at Bannister Island by 11:15 for one hour and then had us back at the pier by 1:00.
It was the fastest tour I had ever been on, and for the money $79 we could have had an all day adventure like we did the first time....and missed our first group.
It dawned on me later in the day, that some people in my party had never snorkeled in the ocean before, and no one showed them how to snorkel....matter of fact, I didn't see anyone taught. That could have been dangerous, but they have snorkeled in the lakes.
End of the store: I'll never do a ship tour again. They are all about getting you back to the ship (can appreciate that), but that's about it.
Had family member who went on an ATV and beach break trip with the boat in Cozumel, left at 8:30, ran into them at the port at 1pm.......must be what they do.
