We are on the Volendam for 12 days over Christmas and NYE this year. Do you think there will be many kids? There are so few kid amenitities on this ship compared to the huge ships sailing for 7 days out of LA.

I am researching Dec 2019. I wanted to fly and cruise and not do the Drake sail. What do you recommend?
And how many days do you think you need? I am looking at Ocean Explorer(11 days altogether) and they allow a camp over night on the ice. Or Ocean Nova which is only 8 day altogether. Counting days of travel to airport and travel, probably 4 days actually doing anything with Nova. How long have you done?

I just got back from an excellent tour. It was 90 usd pp and it covered all when comparing with other tours.
AND, the most important. There is a ferry that has a long line, particularly coming back, as we did on a Sunday afternoon. This tour guide had a resident card that allowed her to bypass the line and had priority to board the ferry. We would have been in line for the ferry at least an hour coming back without it. I totally recommend this guide: Margarita Maciune m.maciune@gmail.com
To be honest, Ulko booked me on the 6 hour tour which DID NOT include going up the the top of the dune, or amber museum, or tour of NIda or Klaidpeda, but the guide did it all, so it was the 140 usd tour. I suggest you contact her directly.

My 13 yo is going with me on the Baltic cruise in Aug. I chose Oceania just because I wanted a stop in Riga (my mother was Latvian). My kid is very social and she is prepared that there may not be any other kids on this trip but she is focused on the day trips (she has been to over 25 countries herself) and shopping. When a teen, there is nightlife -- other kids, or shopping. You could find some cool things on those Greek Islands. And good snorkling.

I am trying to choose between Oceania and Azamara, Baltic cruise Aug 2018. I am traveling with my 13 year old. I have read reviews that the food is better on Azamara but wonder if the selection would be limited because it is about half the size in number of passengers. Azamara is running a special and all the lower cost rooms on Oceania are sold out so I am comparing veranda rooms at the same price. It is just me and my 13 yo and I just drink wine. I have to make a decision to get the deal on Azamara. Any specific comments on food would be appreciated.

Looking at northern Europe on Oceania Aug 2017. Wondered if summer cruises sell out easily, are there deals getting close, have you had deals upgrading last minute?
I would appreciate any feedback.

I am curious also. We are going to the far end of the bay, close to the ship wreck. Hoping to snorkel out to it. Just curious if they got hurricane damage.
