  1. AGREE twin beds fit best in an inside cabin but has anyone tried a queen being put against the opposite wall pushed at a right angle into the corner yet?

Admittedly one person would have to climb over the bed to get their side but then there would be room I think for a bedside table if that was an issue!

    anyway just a thought!

  2. Just came off her 14th June and we had cabin 6156 (opposite corner) which was roughly just above you but slightly more forward. You are slightly more midship which is also a great location, central to all. I was worried about noise being so close to the Atrium and opposite the Mix Bar but heard very very little.

Deck 5 is a lovely deck to sit and relax, have a coffee at Charlies (about $3.50) and get their little newspaper to while away a few hours. Lots of entertainment in the Atrium during the day and nightly. You'll love it. Less movement for sure too!

REMEMBER: to try the Waterhouse Restaurant Deck 7 for lunch and dinner......loved the Tandori Spring Chicken for lunch and DH loved the porkbelly for dinner and of course the Hot Belgium Chocolate cake with vanilla icecream, our grand daughter had each night! ...... lol!

    Have a great cruise!

PS: hint-take some good shampoo and conditioner, their stuff is not much better than dish washing liquid..my only complaint but easily solved!

  3. Haven't you ever heard of the eccentric billionaire?

Mind you it would be a beautiful ship and one that people would pay good $$$$'s to cruise. Look at the fantastic "Queens"

He told reporters that he has expressed interest in standing for Queensland's Liberal National Party (LNP), part of the conservative opposition at federal level, in the Brisbane seat of Lilley - currently held by Deputy Prime Minister and Treasurer Wayne Swan.

AND why would anyone vote for him, when he is going to China to build this ship...

Sure OUR people need this work/employment and the revenue it will bring to Australia. .

A complete nutter, I recon he'll fit right into politics....lol!

  5. thanks sandi

I have been web surfing and found that AustAID does some great work in Port villa and indeed Vanauta. So I have contacted my local Fed member Amanda Rishworth, who I work closely with anyway.

I shall see what that brings. I must admit I feel a little apprehensive giving to someone sitting waiting for cruise ships to come in........pencils and paper etc maybe ok but not large amounts of $$$ which I hope to arrange with my grand daughter's primary school to fundraise!

    Thanks

  6. Hello love cc's, I have read here about a lady who is grateful to recieve donations for her "poor" community in the south pacific islands somewhere, I think Villa?

Would anyone have her details as I wish to make contact because my grand daughter will like to arrange a little fundraising through her school so she can then deliver something and hopefully then we can go visit areas of need. She will then do a project on her "work" while away from school.

I think it is a wonderful idea! what do people think?

Anyone have details and the charity contact please?

    B&B&C:D

  7. totally agree oysterfiend,

my point exactly........maybe ok for the adventurous but not these little black ducks...........lol!

We have enough stress in our "real" world not to enjoy just kicking back and having fun when we are on holidays....IMHO

I guess we will be the ones returning to the ship with a big relaxed smile on our faces...lol!

    Cheers

  10. OOOH just reading above.chill out folks.........I thought people here were NICE.......maybe you both need a chill out pill????

Here is Oz and especially here in SA.....drought effected Australia.

We are learning very quickly about desalinated water...

AGREE with Donna........a lot of retained salt in this water........ BEWARE!

So possibly this is the cause of all the fluid retention when crusing.

I dont know the answer on to how to avoid it really!

And actually this is the one things I'm not liking about cruising, as i too suffer from edema. Maybe some fluid tablets from the doctor might be the answer?

  11. Thanks for the extensive packing list.....but I think a few strong "bag boys" preferably from man power, to carry all the bags needed, if using these packing lists. heheheheheh

Bubbs & Blues-who is my "man power man" (I wish)

    hehehehehehe;)

  12. here is an idea-called bundle wrapping from http://www.onebag.com/pack.html

As the name suggests, bundle wrapping involves the careful wrapping of clothes around a central core object, thus avoiding the folds that result in creases. Furthermore, the tension created in the fabric by the wrapping process significantly reduces the chances of wrinkling. That's the story in a nutshell!

Clothing is wrapped in a specific order, so that the larger and more tailored garments will end up on the outside of the bundle, with less easily wrinkled pieces closer to the core.

Another advantage of this approach is that it reduces the overall volume of your packed clothing to a considerably smaller size than simply "folding and stacking", or resorting to the use of the vacuum-bagging products promoted by some (which, if you think about it, actually increase your packing bulk, rather than diminish it, and add to the weight as well).

    Here's a diagram:

    http://www.popwuping.com/stuff/travel/travel-tips/bundle-wrapping-instructions.php

I hope this helps. Please let me know if it works.

    I will be very interested!

    cheers Bubbs & Blues
